The Bay is getting ready for its 9th season by expanding its cast once again.

The Emmy-winning digital soap The Bay is going to once again be a who's who of daytime and primetime stars when its ninth season begins. The series is adding new major characters and has recast another.

Patrick Muldoon, known for playing Austin Reed on Days of our Lives and Richard Hart on Melrose Place will be joining the soap as Caleb McKinnon's dad. Caleb is played by Mike Manning, who also has a DAYS connection after his chilling performance as Ava's son Charlie Dale. Fans will also meet Caleb's mother, played by Jennifer Taylor of Two and a Half Men fame. Caleb's parents abandoned him as a child, so this reunion is sure to be fraught with drama.

Vivian Garrett will also meet a parent this upcoming season when her husband Pete finds her biological mother, Colleen Givens, played by Another World alum Rhonda Ross. Ross comes with a show business pedigree, as her mother is Motown superstar Diana Ross.

Vivian's adopted father, Mackenzie, will have a new face, as Dynasty and Santa Barbara star Gordon Thomson takes over the role.

The Bay added several other cast members earlier this month. Jordi Vilasuso, the Emmy-winning soap star who was last seen as Rey Rosales on The Young and the Restless, was cast as Justin Ramos. In addition, E.T.'s Dee Wallace, who played Luke and Bobbie's sister, Pat Spencer, on General Hospital will also appear in the soap's ninth season. Olivia D'Abo of The Wonder Years and Tristan Mack Wilds from 90210 will also be featured prominently when the new season premiers.

The Bay debuted in 2010 and has been nominated for 23 Daytime Emmy Awards since then. It is up for an Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series this year when the Emmys are presented on June 7. You can stream episodes of The Bay on Tubi, Peacock, Amazon, and the Roku Channel.
