January 2009 Report: All My Children reportedly barely escaped cancellation How close did All My Children get to being yanked from the airwaves? Too close, if you believe a report made by one soap opera outlet. A spokesperson for ABC Daytime, however, asserts that the report is not true and All My Children, unlike some of its villainous characters, was never in any danger of coming to an untimely demise.

January 2009 All My Children adds former Passions exec to its production staff Daytime veteran Lisa de Cozette has re-joined All My Children's production team. Since leaving her post as a coordinating producer for AMC in the 1990s, de Cozette has gone on to oversee production of NBC's Passions and SOAPnet's primetime series, General Hospital: Night Shift.

Bianca leaves Pine Valley and Reese behind, but insiders hint that this will not be the end of the "Rianca" storyline.

February 2009 Y&R signs former AMC player as Jack's new love interest The Young and the Restless has found someone to play Jack Abbott's new love interest. Former All My Children star Stacy Haiduk will tackle the role of "Mary Jane," a new hire at Jabot. In addition to her AMC role, Haiduk has numerous primetime and film credits to her name. She'll appear in mid-March.

February 2009 Thorsten Kaye contract talks reach an "impasse" Contract talks between All My Children and Thorsten Kaye have broken down, according to a published report. Kaye, who has been front-and-center in the show's storyline for years, joined All My Children in 2004. There are reports that the three-time Emmy nom is already being courted by another soap.

March 2009 Cady McClain returning to As the World Turns Cady McClain is again returning to daytime television. She will not, as many viewers had speculated, be returning to All My Children. Instead, McClain will reprise another of her Emmy-winning roles: Rosanna Cabot on CBS's As the World Turns. The actress' most recent stint in Oakdale ended in January 2008.

March 2009 Former AMC star arrested on theft charge Phyllis Lyons, who appeared on All My Children in the 1990s as Hayley Vaughan's boozy mother, Arlene, was arrested last month for allegedly swiping a pair of earrings from a California jewelry store.

March 2009 Scott Chandler returns to Pine Valley It's been eight years since Scott Chandler was last spotted in Pine Valley, but the adopted son of Stuart Chandler is headed home. Newcomer Adam Mayfield brings Scott back next month. The newcomer follows in the footsteps of Daniel Cosgrove and Forbes March.

March 2009 Thorsten Kaye, AMC reach a deal Thorsten Kaye has inked a new deal that will keep him on All My Children. Last month, Kaye and ABC execs had reportedly hit a roadblock and there was a strong possibility that the actor could have left the show. Now, citing the economy and unfinished business, Kaye has confirmed that he's reupped.

March 2009 Liza Colby returns to Pine Valley Liza Colby is returning to All My Children, but don't expect to see Emmy winner Marcy Walker reprising the role. Former Melrose Place star, Jamie Luner, takes over the role of Liza in April. Walker, who had stepped away from acting, originated the role of Liza in 1981 and was last seen when Liza made a brief appearance in 2005.

March 2009 Riegel returns to AMC, will exit again with Braun Eden Riegel returns to All My Children one more time in April. The actress, who last appeared in February, is returning to tie up loose ends in her storyline with Tamara Braun's Reese. Both actresses will exit the show in the following weeks, but fans want to know if they'll leave together as lovers... or part ways for good.

April 2009 B&B star is sued, has car repossessed The Bold and the Beautiful's Winsor Harmon is reportedly in a bit of trouble over failure to make payments on his car loan. Citing court documents filed against the actor, a popular celebrity scandal web site says that Harmon owes more than $30,000. Harmon joined B&B 12 years ago after a year-long stint as AMC's Del Henry.

April 2009 The new Liza Colby is back this week This is the week that All My Children fans have been waiting for -- the week that Liza Colby returns to Pine Valley. Though a new actress has taken over the role, there are still bound to be fireworks. Now, AMC execs discuss what's ahead for the new Liza and shed some light on new cast member Jamie Luner.

Now, actress Eden Riegel is preparing for yet another first. Riegel is training to run in her first mini-marathon. The race will also raise money for a Los Angeles-based charity that provides services to individuals affects by HIV/AIDS.

May 2009 Chrishell Stause won't be leaving after all Don't count a good actress out. ABC has apparently been able to make Chrishell Stause an offer she can't refuse. The actress, who has played Amanda Dillon for the past four years, was expected to leave All My Children next month. Now, she's signed a deal that will have her sticking around.

May 2009 Forbes March cast as ATWT's Mason Forbes March will join the cast of As the World Turns later this year in the newly created role of Luke's professor, Mason. June 2009 Stephanie Gatschet set to take on role of DA's wife Former Guiding Light star, Stephanie Gatschet, is headed to Pine Valley. The Emmy-nominated actress is taking on the role of the troublemaking wife of Pine Valley's district attorney. In her previous soap role, Gatschet played one half of a fan-favorite couple.

June 2009 Amanda Baker is headed back to AMC Amanda Baker will reprise the role of Babe Carey beginning this week. Her character, however, remains very much dead. Instead, Babe will appear as a vision to David -- and possible other Pine Valley residents. Baker debuted on All My Children in October 2007. She exited the show a year later.
