With less than four weeks until the return of All My Children, the show's online viewing hubs are gearing up to make sure that soap fans will be able to catch episodes of AMC.
Apple's iTunes service unveiled its homepage for All My Children, along with a description -- and possibly some storyline previews -- of what fans can expect from the rebooted soap.
"Love, excitement and suspense return to Pine Valley with the Chandlers, Cortlandts, Martins and Hubbards. Revisit the lives of core characters who've inhabited the landscape for decades along with a younger generation that promises twists and turns of its own. Follow JR as he comes to grips with his past and meet his teen-aged son, AJ, who might just break the cycle of dysfunction that has plagued his family for years. Follow Pete Cortlandt as he falls in love with a girl named Celia who has a dark past even she doesn't know about. Get re-acquainted with Angie and Jesse and see them tested by tragedy and loss. Witness the return of Zach and David and follow the emotional journey of Bianca's daughter Miranda, whose own mother lived in the shadow of the great Erica Kane but who is determined to forge her own path, on her own terms. All that and more begins on April 29th..."
The iTunes software is a free download, available for both Mac and PCs. The pricing structure for episodes of AMC is 99 cents per episode or $10 for a month of downloads. It's a great deal because comparable television show downloads range from $2.99 per episode to $24.99 for an entire season.
Meanwhile, Hulu has also revealed its landing page for All My Children. This is the spot where fans can tune in every weekday to check out the latest episode of the show, along with video content for the series. Fans will be able to watch All My Children (as well as One Life to Live and other programs) on Hulu from their computers free of charge. Like a television-based soap, there will be commercial breaks during the course of the episode.
Fans wanting additional viewing options can subscribe to the optional Hulu Plus service. For $7.99 per month, fans can watch All My Children (along with hundreds of other shows including One Life to Live) from smartphones, TiVos, Internet-connected televisions, tablets, and other devices
New episodes of All My Children and One Life to Live will be available beginning April 29, 2013.
