AMC's Angie and Jesse together again

Former AMC stars Darnell Williams and Debbi Morgan have reunited for a theater project.

The days of All My Children's Angie and Jesse are sadly long gone, but the good news is that their portrayers, Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams, will be working together once more.

The National Black Theater Festival has announced that the stars have been chosen to co-chair this year's event, which takes place August 3 through August 8 on stages throughout Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

"This year's co-chairs are two ground-breaking actors immediately recognized for their extensive work in theater, film and television," says Sylvia Hamlin, the president of the board of directors of the N.C. Black Repertory Company and executive producer of the theater festival. "Their iconic roles cemented them in television history. Their participation promises to attract a broad-based audience."

The biennial festival, which is the only national black theater festival in the U.S. that offers six consecutive days of professional theater, film, poetry, workshops, seminars, and shopping, has been held since 1989 and was named a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society.

In addition to Williams and Morgan's new role in the festival, daytime fans might recognize the event as the host of James Reynolds' (Abe Carver, Days of our Lives) play, Hold On, Letting Go, which was part of the performance lineup in 2013.
