Michael B. Jordan (ex-Reggie Montgomery, All My Children) took home the award for Best Actor at last night's BET Awards for his work in Just Mercy. The honor ties him with Denzel Washington for most wins in the category.

This past weekend was an exciting one that celebrated entertainers from multiple genres. First, there was the Friday night Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony, which you can read all about here, and then there was the Sunday night BET Awards ceremony, which honored All My Children alum Michael B. Jordan (ex-Reggie Montgomery) by naming him the Best Actor of 2019.

Jordan took home the top honors for his work in the film Just Mercy, a legal drama that also starred Jamie Foxx, Rob Morgan, Tim Blake Nelson, Rafe Spall, and Brie Larson.

As fans may recall, Jordan won the BET Best Actor category in 2019 for his work in Creed II and in 2016 for his work in Fantastic Four and the original Creed. This win, his third, ties him with Denzel Washington for most wins in the Best Actor category.

Jordan starred as AMC's Reggie from 2003 to 2006 before going on to superstardom in films like Fruitvale Station, Fantastic Four, and Black Panther. Some of his other upcoming projects include Wrong Answer, a film based on the Atlanta Public Schools cheating scandal; a second remake of The Thomas Crown Affair; a Denzel Washington-directed film called Journal for Jordan, which follows a real-life soldier who kept a journal full of poignant life lessons for his newborn son while deployed overseas; and an undisclosed role in an upcoming David O. Russell drama starring Christian Bale and Margot Robbie.
