Wedding bells are on the horizon for Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett (ex-J.R. Chandler, All My Children), who is engaged to boyfriend Jaymes Vaughan -- and the romantic proposal was captured on video!

Congratulations are in order for All My Children alum Jonathan Bennett (ex-J.R. Chandler), who is thrilled to share that he and his boyfriend, Jaymes Vaughan, are engaged to be married.

The actor shared the exciting engagement news with People, along with a video of Vaughan getting down on one knee and popping the question. As can be seen in the clip (link below), the sweet proposal included a song that Vaughan wrote for Bennett.

Shares Bennett of the special moment, which he says was a complete surprise, "I was told we were going to be taking family Christmas card photos and that's why Jaymes's photographer friend Eric [Ita] was here along with my photographer nephew Andrew [Herner]. But then no one would look me in the eye and I was like, 'What is going on?!' I later found it out it was because they didn't want to spoil what was about to happen."

Bennett continues, "My sister shouted for me to come outside 'real quick' and my F.O.M.O. [fear of missing out] kicked in so I ran outside. Then I looked over and saw Jaymes holding a sign that said 'We never did find our song, so I wrote it for you.' That's when I knew I was getting proposed to because it was the same type of sign he made when he told me he loved me for the first time. And then I began to ugly-cry the ugliest cry anyone has ever cried."

As Soap Central previously reported, Bennett starred in an LGBT Hallmark Christmas movie in late November called A Christmas House. Groundbreaking for the network, the male-male romance followed a couple (Bennett and actor Brad Harder) who make a trip home for the holidays while awaiting a call about the adoption of their first child. All My Children's J.R. was one of Jonathan Bennett's first roles, which he played from 2001 to 2002. In addition to appearing in major films like Mean Girls, he has many television credits to his name, including Veronica Mars, Smallville, Boston Public, Awkward, and Celebrity Big Brother.
