AMC orders up five SODAs

The Soap Opera Digest Awards were once again quite kind to All My Children. The actors of AMC picked up five individual awards nominations and the show itself was nominated for Favorite Show.

David Canary was once again nominated for his portrayal of the Chandler brothers, Adam and Stuart. His nomination comes in the Leading Actor category.

The married team of Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos (Hayley Vaughan and Mateo Santos)were both nominated this year. Ripa in the Outstanding Younger Lead Actress and Consuelos in the Outstanding Younger Lead Actor.

Newcomer Abigail Spencer (Becca Tyree) earned her very first award nomination in the Outstanding Female Newcomer category. Speaking of newcomers, Finola Hughes (Alexandra Devane) was nominated for favorite return. This category, of course, refers to her previous stint as Anna Devane on General Hospital. She has tough competition from the likes of Eileen Davidson (Ashley, The Young and the Restless; Formerly she played five different roles on Days of our Lives) and Elizabeth Hubbard (Lucinda, As The World Turns; Hubbard was relieved from duty but quicly re-instated when a new executive producer joined the show)
