A drunken Maria informed the assembled guests at the awards dinner that she would not accept the posthumous humanitarian award being given to Edmund because Edmund wouldn't have wanted her to have the award. Maria lashed out as Brooke stood quietly by. When Zach arrived to be by Kendall's side, Maria seized the moment to point out how her ex-lover had poured salt into her wounds by going after Kendall. Erica spoke up, encouraging Maria to get a good night's rest and decide in the morning if she truly wanted the award or not. Ethan arrived by Maria's side and escorted off to a room at the Valley Inn where he hoped she could sleep off her drunkenness.

After Maria left, the showdowns continued. Jack blasted Ryan for his recent behavior and for having troublemaking brothers that had turned his family's life upside-down. A furious Jack said that he could only hope that the insanity would be over by the time Ryan and Greenlee had children of their own. Ryan then took turns lashing out at Jack and Mary Smythe, saying that neither one of them had the right to talk about what it meant to be a good parent. He then assured them that he would never be having children with Greenlee.

Brooke took to the ladies' room to freshen up. There she was met by a sneering Mary Smythe. Mary pointedly noted that much of Maria's current problems stem from Brooke's past actions. Mary then warned Brooke not to turn to Adam for comfort during these hard times. Despite the fact that she had showed up at the event on Palmer's arm, Mary insisted that she still had her eyes on Adam. Almost on cue, Adam started pounding on the door to the restroom demanding to see Brooke. Brooke opened the door and a valiant Adam whisked her away to get some fresh air.

Elsewhere at The Valley Inn, Zach tore into Erica for having blabbed to Edmund that he and Maria had been having an affair. Zach rationalized that the seeds of doubt that Erica had planted had eventually helped fuel Edmund's rage. Erica insisted that she harbored no ill-will towards Maria, but Zach didn't buy it and warned her to stay away from Maria. Later, Zach blasted Kendall for having invited him to witness Maria's breakdown.

JR arrived and asked Kendall to leave with him. Kendall reminded him that she had a business arrangement to marry Zach. Pulling Kendall close, JR mentioned that he believes in mixing business with pleasure.

At the boathouse, Adam surprised Brooke by making a pass at her. Brooke rolled her eyes and told Adam that even though his niceness was greatly appreciated, she would not be blinded by the moment and fall helplessly into his arms. Adam smiled slightly and assured Brooke that when she was ready to fall, he would be there to catch her. Suddenly, Adam's lightheadedness returned and he struggled to remain upright.

Back at a room at The Valley Inn, Ethan convinced Maria that she should go to bed. Maria resisted, but eventually fell into bed. When she looked up at Ethan, she imagined that Zach was there in front of her. Thinking that he was Zach, she then begged Ethan to make love to her.

Tad is still on the trail of Jane Doe when Ryan bursts in. Ryan wants to know if Tad has found his sister Erin. Tad told him that he traced Erin to Texas. Tad continued to tell Ryan that she worked for a large company and was doing exceptionally well. He then told Ryan that a couple of months ago, Erin went on a business trip to Wilmington but never returned to Texas. Ryan realized that Wilmington was only about an hour away from Pine Valley and that two months ago was when Jonathan was at his very worst. Tad tried to talk some sense into Ryan and not jump to conclusions. Tad told him that there has been no accident report, no rumor of foul play and that lots of things could have happened that don't involve the word dead. Ryan, still clinging to his family curse told Tad that because she is a Lavery, nothing good could have happened. Ryan told Tad that Erin was fearless when she was young, but he admitted that he had not seen her since she was five years old. He told Tad that his dad treated Erin like a princess at the same time he was feeding poisoned sandwiches to Jonathan. He said that Jonathan must have really hated Erin for being treated so well.

Brooke called emergency services as Adam suffered another attack. After Adam got himself together, he took the phone from Brooke and hung it up as she spoke to the operator. He told her that there was nothing to worry about. He continued to deny that anything was wrong. She told him she thought he had just suffered a stroke. Adam told her to stop with the diagnosis and she told him that this was very serious. She continued to ask him health questions and he continued to fight her. She told Adam that she was going to take him to the emergency room. Brooke told him that she just lost one man she loved and was not going to lose another. She picked up an oar and threatened Adam with bodily harm if he did not cooperate. He told her he would go. At the hospital, Jamie found Brooke and told her that he and Aunt Phoebe had been playing cards when she began having trouble breathing. Jamie told Brooke that Phoebe was in intensive care and may not live.

Erica continued to appeal to Zach to save Maria from Ethan. She told him if Maria woke up hating herself because of what she did with Ethan, it would have happened because of his pride. Meanwhile, Maria and Ethan were heating things up when Ethan pulled away citing that she has had too much to drink. Maria slipped off her dress and asked him to make her feel better. Maria, still very drunk, saw Zach's face instead of Ethan's and told him she wanted him. Zach left Erica in the bar and saw Jack. Erica heard Jack and Zach and insisted to Jack that Zach had to help Maria get away from Ethan. Maria told Ethan that he was the most incredible man she ever knew, all the while she continued to call him Zach. Ethan put Maria in bed and told her that he wasn't Zach. When she realized that Ethan wasn't Zach she looked around the room and called for him. She asked Ethan where Zach was, and with the usual perfect timing, Zach was in the doorway. Maria smiled bigger than a Cheshire cat when she saw him and told him she was glad he was there. He told Ethan that Maria had been through enough tonight and to get away from her. Ethan made sure to bait Zach and asked him what he cared about Maria anyway. Ethan then went to the bed and put his arms around Maria. Ethan, not about to stop playing Zach told him that it was Maria who wanted him and came onto him. Zach threw Ethan (physically) out of the hotel room. Maria told Zach that she dreamed that he told her he loved her and they start all over again. Professing her love for him, she asked if they could make love. Zach told Maria to get some sleep. Zach watched her sleep for a while, and when Maria awoke she tried to coax him into bed.

Ethan saw Simone in the bar and asked where Kendall was. Simone in her own way let Ethan know that Kendall was somewhere else. After the typical cat and mouse conversation, Simone let it slip that Kendall was with J.R.

Kendall told J.R. after a session of passionate kissing that she didn't want to be stupid and make another mistake. She asked J.R. if she would ever be normal and he replied that he hoped not. J.R. flattered Kendall again and she told him not to try to make her feel better. Kendall said that he has had a front row seat to every one of her stunts. He said he got a rush watching her in action. She told him it might be easier to be ordinary. He continued the seduction routine, suggesting a dip in the hot tub. He told her that he would go with whatever she wanted and with no obligation. After the hot tub, J.R. took Kendall in his arms and carried her inside. Ethan showed up on J.R.'s patio and saw Winifred the maid. She told him that J.R. didn't want to be disturbed.

At the hospital, Adam waits for Brooke to visit with Aunt Phoebe. Tad, Jamie and Babe wonder why he is there...since Brooke does not need him. He replies that if they care so much about her, then where were they when Maria was shredding her apart the night before. Jamie leaves to check on Brooke. Tad and Babe discuss her concerns about Little Adam's new Nanny. Tad tries to assure her that Di seems legitimate. Adam agrees, since he spoke with her former employer. Babe is not convinced. Brooke and Jamie come back and sadly tell them that Phoebe has passed away. She tearfully tells Tad that she regained consciousness long enough to tell them goodbye, that she loved everyone and that Langley was waiting for her. Brooke notices that Adam is still there and asks Jamie to make some phone calls for her. When he leaves, she escorts Adam into a private room to talk. Babe and Jamie return from making the calls and ask Tad why Brooke is still talking to Adam. Tad tells them that he doesn't know and that he has to leave to go do something. When he gone, Babe consoles Jamie as he reminisces about Phoebe. He confides in her that Phoebe told him to grab hold of any surprises that come his way. He wonders what she meant by that. Brooke asks Adam why he hasn't checked himself in yet. Adam tells he that he's fine and she is overreacting. She gets angry that he is making excuses and tells him that she will not visit him when he ends up in the hospital. As she breaks down in tears, she reminds him that she has already lost two people within months of each other and she doesn't want to lose a third. She says that she'll only give a damn if he gets some help. They leave the room and she tells him to get in touch with her later. He expresses his sympathies over Phoebe's death. Brooke leaves with Babe and Jamie.

Ryan walks in to a bar and Ethan, who has been drinking, calls him over. He tells Ryan that he was right about his warnings of Kendall and her revenge has no expiration date. Ryan replies that Kendall might have baggage, but she deserves better. Ethan tells him about Kendall sleeping with J.R. Ryan informs him that he'll get no sympathy from him because Ethan became a jackass after he inherited Cambias. He goes on to say that he gets why Ethan hates Zach, but does he expect to fight him forever. He then tells Ethan that if he wants Kendall back, he will have to convince her that she is more important than his money.

David and Di are walking through the park. Di explains how Babe recognized her and is insisting that she poses a threat to Little Adam. David asks if J.R. believed Babe and wonders why she is still worried when she tells him no. She expresses her concern that Babe could be right and she is putting Little Adam in danger. David tells her that he would not put his grandson in harm's way. He assures her safety by telling her that the grand jury in her ex's case has been dismissed and he has boarded a plane to the Far East. She is relieved to hear the news. David tells her to concentrate on J.R. and he'll worry about Babe. She admits that she is developing a soft spot for J.R. He is glad and tells her to do what it takes to gain his trust. He reminds her that he'll make her rich if she persuades J.R. to give Babe joint-custody.

Kendall lies in bed, fantasizing that Ethan is telling her that they are making a fresh start and Zach can have Cambias. She is startled when she realizes that J.R. is in bed next to her, not Ethan. He asks her if she is o.k. and does she have any regrets. She regains her composure and tries to assure him that she is fine. He asks for the truth. She replies that she likes to keep some thoughts to herself. He drops it and asks her to stay for breakfast. She agrees. He teases that he wants to be the best man at her wedding. She observes that what he really wants if for her to give him back Chandler Enterprises. He laughs and says that she's good. Later, they are eating breakfast on the veranda. She tells him that she'll marry Zach on her terms and he cannot be the best man. He insists on taking her on the honeymoon, at least. They are interrupted by Winifred, who informs them about Ethan's visit the night before. J.R. asks her how she feels about Ethan knowing they spent the night together. She acts as if she doesn't care and assures him that they are through. J.R. receives a phone call, informing him that he has been fired by Ethan. He shrugs it off, stating that Ethan won't be in control of Cambias much longer. He tells Kendall that Chandler Enterprises is Little Adam's birthright and asks her of she'll help him get it back. They are interrupted by Di, who has returned from a walk. J.R. introduces her to Kendall. After Di excuses herself, J.R. asks Kendall again if she'll help him. She tells him of course and then says that she has to go. Later, Di is sitting on the veranda having some tea. Tad walks up to her from behind and asks her why he feels like he knows her. J.R. returns to his room and thinks Kendall has changed her mind when he finds someone in his bed. As he climbs in, some strange girl starts to scream at him when she is awakened.

Maria wakes up from her stupor and is surprised to see Zach sitting by the bed. She grabs her head and asks why he is there. Then she starts to have flashbacks of the night before and is mortified. She tells him that she remembers saying awful things after accepting Edmund's award and she remembers leaving with Ethan. She realizes at that moment that she is in her underwear and lying in Ethan's bed. Zach assures her that nothing happened and that Zach asked Ethan to leave. She is embarrassed and admits to him that she wanted him...not Ethan. She is surprised that he came to her rescue. He replies that Ethan was using her to get back at him. She says that he is doing the same thing with Kendall. He tells her that he did not offer Kendall his bed, just a business deal. She wants to know what she did the night before. He tells her that she said awful things about herself and took the blame for everything. He says that she is not alone and that he has also made bad choices...especially with Ethan. She asks him if he is making the right choice now. Later, he has breakfast and a change of clothes delivered to Ethan's room for her. She is touched by the gesture. He jokes that he billed Ethan for everything. He tells her to eat something and to feel better as he starts to leave. She stops him and tells him how she appreciates the kindness he has showed to her after all that she has done. He leaves her and goes downstairs to the dining room. He is joined by Kendall, who jokes that she forgives him for his behavior the night before and tells him that she wants to marry him today.

JR comes into his room to find an unknown girl in his bed. Before she has a chance to explain, JR jumps to the conclusion that this is part of a setup, courtesy of Jamie, Babe or Tad. Unmoved by her protests, JR races around the room to try to find evidence of this latest conspiracy. The young girl denies everything but JR demands to know how much Babe is paying her to make him look bad. Indignant, the girl introduces herself as Amanda but this doesn't ring any bells with JR. He asks her how old she is, and all she will tell him is that she is legal. Enraged, JR throws a shirt at Amanda and tells her that he is going to call the cops and have her arrested as an adult. He storms out and leaves her standing there dejectedly.

Out on the terrace, Di reminds Tad that he knows her from their run in on the mountain the night of the explosion, and the day that she was hired. Tad doesn't think those explanations fit, asking if she'd ever met anyone that she felt she had known before. She suggests that perhaps they met in another life, and they briefly explore those possibilities. Then, Di suggests that perhaps it wasn't another life where they met. Intrigued, Tad asks what she means by that. They stare at each other unwaveringly for a moment, and then, out of discomfort, Di backs down. She asks if Tad came to see someone that she can fetch for him, but Tad insists that he came to see her. He probes into her experiences thus far at the Chandler estate, believing that she would soon be giving her notice. Di insists that things are not that bad, and that Adam's bark is much worse than his bite. After a moment, Di asks what Tad's connection is to the Chandlers. Tad admits that he was married to JR's mother before she escaped from Adam. Upon hearing that, Di utters the words "Together Forever." Stunned by her choice of words, Tad quickly asks how she knew about that phrase. Di promptly covers by saying that she had been speaking with JR about Dixie, and he told her the story. She apologizes for intruding on his memories, and Tad dismisses it, saying everyone has some baggage in their closet. With that, Di realizes that Tad didn't just come over for a social call - he came to check her out. Tad makes no attempt to hide the truth from her.

Just at that moment, JR comes exploding on to the terrace. He sees his former stepfather, and feels that everything makes sense. He rants about how Tad brought up the possibility that Dixie might be alive, and then planted a teenage hooker in his bed. Tad denies responsibility for both things, specifying that the latter is not his style. His outrage is cut short when Amanda stumbles upon the conversation. She greets Tad by name, and goes to his open arms for comfort. JR takes that as proof that Tad is responsible for the set up and vows to call the police immediately. Before he can get back into the house, Tad informs him that if he follows through - the cops will be arresting Hayley's cousin, Amanda Dillon. JR is immediately apologetic and is calm enough to listen to her tale. Hayley was supposed to contact JR and let him know that Amanda would be staying there while she attended the summer session at PVU. Mortified that she simply barged in and made herself at home, Amanda insists that she gather her things and find a hotel. Tad calls out to her to stop her, and then quietly urges JR to be human and invite her to stay. JR follows Tad's advice for once and opens the house to Amanda. Di then introduces herself and offers to help her find a different room to set up house in. Amanda takes a moment to protest one more time, saying that she would be perfectly fine finding somewhere else to stay, but JR won't hear of it.

When the ladies retreat into the house, JR reverts back to his normal self, and asks if Tad received the message he sent via Jamie. Tad, none too happy that JR had his brother pinned under a motorcycle, says that he received the message but that it wasn't warranted. JR still blames Tad for the talk resurfacing about Dixie, but Tad says that he never made any claims that she was alive. JR tells him to leave the subject alone and starts to walk off. Tad follows him in short order and tells him that if he has a problem, he should be man enough to leave his brother out of it and take it directly to the source. JR, looking Tad coldly in the eye, promises that he will bring whatever pain Tad earns directly to him. Tad urges him to try his best. After a moment, Tad explains that he and Jamie are not out to get him, and couldn't have set up a trap for him today even if they wanted to. As expected, JR doesn't believe him, but Tad quickly tells him that he and Jamie were at the hospital, and that Phoebe passed away. Alighting briefly on the news, JR returns to ragging on Tad moments later. He wants to know why Tad was hitting on Di, but Tad corrects him and says that he was actually doing his own background check. JR is interested to see what Tad may have uncovered, but for the moment, there is nothing additional. JR seems satisfied, but Tad advises him to have another nanny waiting - because there is something off about Diana.

Up in the bedroom where she crashed, Di is helping Amanda repack her things before moving to another room. They briefly revisit Amanda's explosive return to town, and then Amanda admits that she feels so at home already. Di thinks that she means just in Pine Valley but Amanda tells her that it's something about the house and the room.

JR notes that he and Tad were never really related, and that Tad would do well to stay away from anyone in or connected to the Chandler family. He starts to walk away, but Diana comes running back out to the terrace to try to help mend fences. She asks JR not to blame Tad for doing what he felt was best in light of the fact that both he and Babe love Little Adam. She adds that she doesn't want to be the cause of any trouble between the two of them. JR assures her that Tad does that very well all on his own, and demands that Tad get off his property. He storms off, leaving Tad and Di alone. Tad vaguely details some of the things that have happened in the house, and she asks if he is trying to scare her. Tad simply tells her he is just trying to be truthful. He offers her lesson number one: never defend him, Babe, or Jamie to JR. It will only get her on JR's bad side.

Babe arrives at work as the night shift bartender is preparing to leave. They exchange pleasantries, and Jim points out that the man at the bar had been there all night and had a tab. When Jim leaves, Babe greets the patron with an offer of a less than appetizing breakfast. The man that turns around to face her is Ryan, and he's not interested. Babe tries to coerce Ryan into some small talk, but after several clipped responses, she realizes that perhaps she is the last person he would want to talk to. Ryan tells her that he is in no position to judge, so she sees a small opening that she might be able to use. She wonders aloud if she can ask Ryan a question, and he gives her permission to do so. She asks how the baby is, and Ryan, misunderstanding, scathingly tells her that she is never to bring up the subject of a baby around him again. Babe, not realizing that anything is amiss, offers up the only breakfast they have as a peace offering. She further explains that she will never forgive herself for what she did to Bianca and Miranda, but that she thought perhaps he could tell her how they are faring overseas. It then hits Ryan that he completely misjudged what Babe was asking, and takes down his attitude a few notches. He tells her that Bianca and Maggie are doing fine, and that although they hadn't talked about Miranda much, he was sure she was doing just fine. Babe starts to prattle on randomly, and Ryan can only put up with it for a few moments. She tries to reverse the table and be the listener, but fails miserably. Ryan finally asks her to just be quiet and get him another beer.

Kendall and Zach sit in the dining room at the Valley Inn, and she wonders aloud about what could possibly stop them from getting married that day. Assured that anything that would come up would be surmountable, Kendall accepts his proposal. When her answer doesn't elicit a response, she realizes that Zach's eyes are fixed at a point behind her head. She turns around to find Ethan and Maria standing behind her, having heard every word. Without missing a beat, Kendall launches into an attack on both parties - feigned surprise that Maria is even allowed in the dining area after the fiasco last night, and a suggestion that perhaps Ethan could continue their date and cook her breakfast elsewhere. Before she could get a solid foothold in her assault, Kendall spies Greenlee waving her over from the door. Before she excuses herself, she asks the groom to be not to start the wedding without her.

With Kendall gone, Ethan, ever the gentleman, confirms that Maria is all right and unhurt. Zach looks on with amusement for a moment, and then starts to goad his son. Ethan readily takes the bait but before they can start another all out war, Maria pleads with them to stop. She lays out what all of them did in the last 24 hours to hurt each other, and then tells the boys that it needs to stop. She notes that they are both good guys, but that when they are in a room together, they combust. She further notes that while she is in no position to preach to anyone, she believes that they need to find a way to call a truce. She reminds them that in the beginning, both of them were actually looking out for each other's best interest - but because things didn't go as they envisioned, now it's all about the challenge and besting one another. Maria admits that not only does she not want to see them that way, but also that if they keep going down that road, they will end up right where she is. She notes that they can destroy each other if they like, but the better option would be to find a way to resolve their differences amicably. She walks out, leaving them to consider all that she said. Ethan folds first and says that perhaps Maria is correct: perhaps they should call a truce now while they're both still in one piece. Ethan thinks that they can cut a clean business deal where they both come out ahead, now that both Kendall and Maria are out of the way. Zach reminds his son that he offered Kendall a business deal, nothing more. He admits that he would gladly withdraw his proposal if Ethan would sign everything over. Ethan then tells him that while Kendall may be off the table, Maria is not. Ethan knows, after last night, that Maria is still in love with Zach - and Ethan is willing to help out. Instead of immediately taking him up on his deal, Zach points out that the women they love are not the point. The real prize, at least to Ethan, is the Cambias fortune - the very thing that Zach is intent on taking away. Ethan asks if they can draw up a treaty, but Zach is unwilling to bend. He will only agree to a truce if Ethan gives up everything. If not, they will have to settle everything in court. This enrages Ethan, and he declares the match far from over.

Greenlee quickly informs Kendall that they have a huge problem that needs to be dealt with immediately. Kendall initially protests, saying that she was just about to go off and marry Zach. Greenlee knows that Kendall's plans can wait, and drags her off to the bathroom so that they can talk without interruption. They burst into the bathroom, and after locking the door and making sure there were no other people inside, Greenlee tells Kendall that Ryan is missing. She further informs Kendall that Ryan has now stayed out for two consecutive nights. Kendall, not exactly up-to-date on the details, asks for more information. Greenlee tells her that she is afraid that she has finally pushed Ryan away for good, and needs her help. Greenlee then tells Kendall that she is her secret weapon that will help her get Ryan back. Kendall realizes that the door is now open to get Greenlee to admit that she was wrong, and starts listing all of the wrong tactics that Greenlee chose to use instead of asking for help in the beginning. Exasperated, Greenlee pleads with Kendall to just figure out a way to close the chasm between her and her husband. Kendall agrees to help, but wants to know one thing before either of them make a move: Is Greenlee truly sorry for trying to trick Ryan into having a baby, or is she just sorry that she got caught? Greenlee says that she will never be sorry for wanting a baby with Ryan, and Kendall explains that the point was how Greenlee went about it. Kendall believes that Greenlee's tactics are what push Ryan farther away. Greenlee tells her that Ryan wanted a baby as well, before he started believing that he was like his brothers and his father. Kendall is slightly taken aback that Ryan would subscribe to that line of thinking. Greenlee then tells her that his thought patterns are eating away at him and she no longer knows how to reach him. She confirms that he won't go to therapy because he isn't up to talking to anyone these days. Kendall is certain that Greenlee has a way to get through to him, but Greenlee is at a loss. She admits to Kendall that she is terrified that she is looking at the beginning of the end of her marriage. Kendall urges her to keep fighting, and Greenlee tells her that even Jonathan couldn't split them up - so she will keep fighting until her last breath. Whether she wants the truth or not - she has to find out what's going on. She asks Kendall if she is on board, and this time, Kendall agrees completely.

Greenlee and Kendall start to plot out ways to find Ryan when Greenlee's cell phone rings. She answers it and finds that Babe is on the other end. She starts to hang up but Babe manages to tell her that Ryan is at the Roadside Bar, where she works, and that he's in a dark place. She thinks that he needs help, and she thought it best that she call. Greenlee quickly gets off the phone and starts to dash out the door but Kendall stops her. She tells Greenlee that she can either rush over to the bar without thinking and push Ryan even farther away, or she can stop for a minute and listen to the advice Kendall is about to give her.

A short time later, as Babe is trying to keep Ryan at the bar, Kendall swoops in and descends on Ryan. Immediately suspicious as to the reason why Kendall showed up, he eyes Babe warily and tries to settle his bill so that he can make a fast getaway. Still trying to stall, Babe tells Ryan that she needs to go through his tab to make sure everything is in order. Kendall tries to order a drink for herself and one for Ryan, but Babe tries to intrude by telling Kendall that Ryan doesn't want company. Knowing that Babe is unaware that she is working with Greenlee, Kendall invites Babe to get lost so that she can talk to Ryan. Just then, she sees Greenlee hiding underneath the bar and realization dawns. She falls in line and goes to retrieve the requested drinks. Meanwhile, Kendall tries valiantly to get information about Ryan's feelings out. When her first tactic fails, she attempts to neutralize the situation by turning the conversation around on herself and her impending nuptials. Ryan urges her not to do it, but Kendall brushes his advice off. She makes another attempt to find out what's going through Ryan's head but he declares the subject off topic. Kendall says that if things between him and Greenlee are bad, Greenlee will take it out on everyone in the office. Still not making any headway, she takes a different tack and offers herself up. While Greenlee listens in, Kendall tells Ryan that they were really good together and that if he is really done with Greenlee, they should try to be together again.

Maria returns home, and audibly flashes back to things that were said the night before during her drunken binge. Before she can wallow for too long, the doorbell rings. She opens it to find Myrtle on the other side. Without a word from Maria, Myrtle announces that she knew Maria would be feeling low and that's why she came over - to be a friend. They settle down in the living room, and Myrtle commiserates with Maria over getting drunk and causing a scene. They get a good laugh out of Myrtle's old stories and then Maria takes the opportunity to ask how Myrtle feels about Zach. Myrtle admits that she likes Zach very much, and Maria wants to know why. Myrtle admits that while Zach is a complex person, he's very fascinating and a good person. Then, Myrtle addresses how Maria is dealing with all that happened, and Maria admits that her stunt last night didn't help. Feeling badly for her, Myrtle tries to break some news to her gently before anyone else could. She shows her the front page of the newspaper, which details all of the antics from the night before. She then tells Maria that she'll need to brace herself because the kids will probably see the story. Just then, the phone rings and upon answering, Maria finds a teacher from the kids' school on the other end. She finds out that Sam and Maddie didn't show up at school. She then looks down and sees a piece of paper by the phone. She opens it up, and finds a note saying they ran away from home.

Amanda visits JR in his room, and he asks if she's settled in. She tells him that she is, but what she really wanted to do was apologize again for crashing without notice. She tells him that if he ever changes his mind, all he needs to do is let her know. He tells her that she is more than welcome and that he would like to do something nice as an apology. She tells him she'd like to do something nice for him as well.

Ryan jokes to Kendall that she is drunk, but Kendall says no, she is perfectly sober and wants to get back together with him, if he is done with Greenlee. Ryan tells Kendall that their relationship ended a long time ago, but Kendall notes that something must be wrong in his marriage if he is drinking all alone at a bar in the morning. Greenlee stands up, ready to curse at Kendall for hitting on her husband, until Babe pushes her back done. Babe tells her that Kendall is probably sticking to their plan, but Greenlee is not sure. Babe tells that if Ryan finds out she and Kendall are tricking him, he will be upset. Greenlee agrees and stays hidden, as Kendall invites him to go home with her and take a shower. Ryan tells Kendall that perhaps, she needs professional help and that he still loves Greenlee. He leaves and Greenlee pops up, ready to smash a beer bottle over Kendall's head. Kendall assures Greenlee she was just sticking to the plan and it got Ryan to prove he loved her. Greenlee says seducing her husband was not in the plan and what if Ryan had taken her offer? Kendall jokes that she had two men propose to her and bedded JR, so what would she want with Ryan? Babe overhears and warns her to stay away from JR. Greenlee and Kendall ignore her, but Babe persists that although they hate her, it is still her duty to warn others about getting involved with JR. Greenlee jets off, without a thanks to Kendall, and goes home to see Ryan. Greenlee immediately apologizes for running off, but Ryan admits he deserved it. They call it even and hug. Greenlee gives Ryan some biker glasses as a surprise and he she asks him about her surprise, he tells her that she is not going to like it. "Let's get a divorce," he says.

Brooke and Jamie go to Tad's after leaving the hospital. When Brooke tells Jamie she needs to call Phoebe's friends and family to notify them of her death and make funeral arrangements, Jamie offers to do it for her. Brooke thanks him, but says she has to do it herself to make it sink in that she is gone. Maria comes over and starts accusing Brooke of stealing her children. Brooke lashes out at Maria, saying if her kids have run away, it is her own fault. Jamie tells Maria Phoebe just passed and warns her to lay off his mother. Tad walks in and Jamie takes Brooke to the kitchen for tea. Maria tells Tad about her children missing and blaming Brooke. She says that although she has been going through some rough times, she has no right to blame it on other people. She should be focusing on her kids and being more responsible, Maria says. Tad agrees to help find Maddie and Sam. Marie tells him that the last time the kids were seen was that morning when Anita dropped them off for school. Marie admits she is worried about the children and what dangerous situations they get themselves into, but Tad tells her not to worry, they are smart kids. Brooke and Jamie come back out and Maria immediately apologizes for her behavior. Brooke tells her to forget about it, but Maria says no, she had no right to blame Brooke, especially since Phoebe just died. Tad gets a call and says he knows where the children are. Adam comes over and embraces Brooke, saying she saved his life, as Jamie tries to figure out what is going on between them.

Sam and Maddie are at the airport, ready to make their way to Paris and even more determined to go after seeing Marie's picture plastered across the magazine headlines. Zach spies them at the airport and runs into Sam. He tells Sam that he is going to Las Vegas for business. Sam says his mother is sending he and Maddie to stay with friends. Zach walks over to Sam and Maddie, who are already fighting, and suggests that he call their mother, so they can say good-bye to her. The kids ignore him and stand in line to board the plane. Zach tells the flight attendant that Sam and Maddie are boarding without parental permission, but the attendant checks and sees they do have permission. Zach accuses Sam of forging Maria's signature and as they begin to board the plane, the attendant pulls them back. As Maddie makes a fuss, the attendant says that she has to call their mother to confirm the flight, but she does not a hold of Maria. Sam and Maddie try to escape, but Maddie is caught and Sam dashes into the woods. Zach offers to take Maddie home, but she states that she hates him.

The wedding planner asks them if there is even going to be a wedding, and the couple joke it is just pre-wedding jitters. Erica says that she told him about the doves and even video cameras taping the wedding for her new talk show, but Jackson disagrees. When they go away from the crowd, Lily gets nervous and asks Reggie if everything is OK. He tells her that he is not sure. Erica says she has does not have to get the OK from Jackson for every wedding detail. Jackson says he does not want the doves or cameras because it seems that the wedding is getting out of hand. Erica pleads that this is her final wedding and she just wants to it be special. In the end, Jackson agrees to doves and cameras. Jackson gets a visitor, Dr. Stern, who he says is going to talk to Greenlee about domestic abuse and the dangers of living with Ryan. Erica is stunned and tells him that Greenlee is not some type of domestic situation. The wedding planner dashes off, with Dr. Stern following behind him. Lily gets nervous and tells her dad that she needs to go to her "safe place." Erica tells Jackson he is being overprotective and that Ryan would never hurt her like Zach is trying to hurt Kendall. Reggie jumps in and tells them that although they are stressed out about the wedding, they need to remember they love each other. Jackson says Reggie is right and as long as they get married. Kendall arrived after everyone has gone and sees that Erica is not well. Erica admits that she does not think she can marry Jackson.
