Greenlee saw Aidan at The Comeback. Greenlee accused Aidan of telling Jack about her connection to Dr. Hilliard. Aidan explained that Greenlee told her father when she was high on pain medication. Aidan also informed Greenlee that she called him "hot" when she was stoned. Greenlee was embarrassed, but smiled. Aidan stated that he actually liked Greenlee when she was heavily medicated. Greenlee wondered if Aidan only liked her when she was on drugs. Aidan admitted that he liked her no matter what. Then, they sat down together and Greenlee showed Aidan the pocket watch she found on the beach. Greenlee felt it signified a great love story, but Aidan thought it symbolized something evil. So, they made a bet to see who was right about the story behind the watch. The loser had to watch a movie that the winner chose.
Babe entered The Comeback looking for Krystal, but Krystal was not working. Wes asked Babe why she looked so happy. Babe explained that she finally got her high school diploma. Wes was shocked that a woman of Babe's stature did not have an MBA. Babe was flattered. Wes then gave Babe a cupcake to congratulate her. Meanwhile, Jonathan and Ava approached the bar. Wes flirted with Ava and Jonathan looked annoyed. So, when Ava walked away, Wes apologized and explained that it was part of the job description to flirt with female patrons. Jonathan understood because he was a bartender also. Meanwhile, Babe saw that Ava looked sick. Ava felt nauseous and had to sit down. Babe asked if Ava was having safe sex because she might be pregnant. Ava became offended and told Jonathan she wanted to leave the bar.
JR walked into the Chandler mansion and saw Adam and Stuart both dressed like Stuart. JR laughed and wondered who Adam was trying to fool. JR explained his idea to start a beauty website with Ava as the star. Adam thought the idea was "inspired lunacy" since Ava was involved. Adam stated that he was in the process of regaining everything Zach took from them. Adam asked JR to return to Chandler Enterprises. JR said he wanted to build his own empire, like Adam did. Adam said that JR did not know what it was like to be very poor and start from scratch. Adam felt JR had the brains, but not the drive. JR declared that Adam would regret his decision to pass on this project when it was a big success.

Erica was shocked that "Don" was the doctor treating Spike because they were at Betty Ford Center together. Erica called Dr. Hilliard a fraud. Dr. Hilliard wondered why Erica harbored ill feelings for him since they were friends in treatment. Erica stated that he had his medical license revoked for prescribing himself pain medication to himself. Dr. Hilliard informed Erica that he became enlightened during treatment and started on a new course of medicine. Dr. Hilliard asserted that his license was reinstated. Then, Dr. Hilliard received a phone call from Kendall claiming that Spike heard a noise. Both Erica and Dr. Hilliard rushed to Kendall's home. Meanwhile, Dr. Norton arrived to see Spike. Spike had a rash and continued to cry. Then, all of a sudden, Spike became quiet and stopped breathing. Dr. Norton gave the baby a shot as Kendall, Zach, Ryan, and Annie watched in fear. Spike began to cry again and everyone was relieved. Then, Joe arrived and Dr. Norton explained that Spike had an anaphylactic reaction due to an allergy. Joe asked if there was any change in Spike's diet. Kendall told Joe about the vitamins. Then, Erica and Dr. Hilliard arrived. Ryan was furious with Dr. Hilliard for giving Spike the vitamins. Dr. Hilliard apologized and wrote down a list of all the ingredients in the vitamins. Then, after Dr. Hilliard left, Erica divulged how she knew the doctor. Erica warned everyone not to trust Dr. Hilliard. Kendall began to regret her faith in the doctor. Erica then announced that Greenlee paid Dr. Hilliard to contact Kendall!
Ryan leaves Jonathan and another employee to work on a research project involving hearing loss in children. Ryan sees Greenlee at the yacht club and says that he knows she referred Dr. Hilliard to Spike's case. Greenlee seems confused, thinking the doctor was no longer treating Spike. Ryan tells Greenlee that Dr. Hilliard's medicine made Spike stop breathing, and she needs to stop trying to fix the problem she caused. As Greenlee begs to know if Spike is alright, Ryan tells her that he is not her child and she needs to stop trying to torture his family. Greenlee says she will always care about Spike and Kendall, but Ryan is counting the many ways he can try to get her out of town. Ryan says Greenlee's life won't be pretty if she sticks around because he will have someone watch her like a hawk. He even recalls her events the evening before, from the type of tea she drank, to prove he is not joking. Greenlee tells Ryan she is not giving up her life just because that is what he wants. He pays for Greenlee's bill as she stares him down.
Ava calls Jonathan to check on Spike, but Jonathan wonders how she is doing since she ran off so suddenly the other night. Ava claims she is fine, while pulling a pregnancy test out of a paper bag.
Annie tells Amanda and Babe about Spike's allergic reaction to Dr. Hilliard's medicine. Babe and Amanda tell Annie not to give Greenlee credit for trying to help Spike, considering she has done nothing but reek revenge on their lives since coming to town. Amanda and Annie agree that although Kendall hated Greenlee when she came back to town, she still wanted to be her friend. Babe says she understands, considering her past with Bianca and Miranda.
JR begins working on his business adventure, but discovers that some of his old contacts are not so keen on the idea. Thanks to a little bribery money, the waiter reveals that the fellow beside Jonathan is a new investor worth millions to JR. JR searches for Ava on the Internet and stumbles upon pictures of her lovemaking with Jonathan on the beach. JR immediately calls Amanda and sends her a link to the web site. When Amanda sees the link, she shows Babe and Amanda as Ava walks in the door. They show Ava the photos and she is just as shocked as them. Ava rushes off with she feels sick as the girls rant on her sexual exposure. When she returns, the girls suggest Ava go home, but Ava says she is welcome to stay at work and rest. Ava throws the pregnancy test in the trash, saying "I know what I don't need." Babe finds the pregnancy test in the trash and asks Ava if it belongs to her after Annie and Amanda deny it is theirs. Ava begins freaking out and runs away.
JR walks over to Jonathan and tells him that he has been working with the Fusion girls to get Ava more exposure. However, he says that he doubts anyone will wanting to invest in Ava anytime soon. Jonathan takes the bait and asks him what he is talking about so JR shows him the photos on the Internet. JR tells Jonathan they should team together to direct Ava to the right career path but Jonathan is not interested in partnering with him. JR goes to Fusion where he runs into Ava, who is gasping for air and having pains.

So, when the show started, Erica and Jack spoke pleasantly and agreed with each other's opinions. Pam stopped the show and asserted that they were too boring when they got along. This riled up Jack and Erica and they began arguing. Pam had the cameraman tape their quarrel and decided that this was the footage she wanted. Afterwards, Erica told Jack that she no longer wanted to fight. Jack suggested that they use the show to vent about their relationship. Erica agreed and called it "on air therapy." They both believed that this would help their relationship. Then, they kissed.
Ava was writhing in pain when she told JR that she might be pregnant. JR did not care and went to leave, so Ava threatened to tell everyone the baby was his if he ditched her. So, JR carried Ava to the hospital. Joe and Julia immediately admitted Ava. Ava explained to them that she might be pregnant. Joe ran some tests and determined that Ava was not pregnant, but she had appendicitis. Joe and Julia informed Ava that she needed surgery otherwise the condition could become fatal. Ava refused surgery because she did not want a scar. JR tried to talk Ava into having the surgery by divulging his big plans for her on his website. Ava still rejected the surgery. Then, Lily arrived. JR called Lily because she was Ava's next of kin. Lily begged Ava to have the surgery because Lily feared that Ava might die. Ava admitted that she was scared to have the surgery due to an incident from her childhood. Ava cut her head and her mother dropped her off and left her at the hospital to fend for herself. Ava worried that she would die alone. Lily assured Ava that she was not alone as Lily gently touched her sister's hand. Then, Ava passed out. Lily began to scream as Joe and Julia rushed to Ava's side.
Annie was working, but continued to have horrible flashbacks of her sordid past. Babe could tell something was wrong and asked Annie if she wanted to talk. Annie thought that telling Ryan the truth would free her from the past, but her anxiety was getting worse. Babe suggested that they go to The Comeback to relax and have a drink. Annie agreed and they left work together.
Aidan was at The Comeback recalling his passionate night with Greenlee. Greenlee then entered and immediately slapped Aidan across the face. Greenlee accused Aidan of being one of Ryan's spies. This hurt Greenlee's feelings because she really believed that Aidan liked her. Aidan grabbed Greenlee by the face and looked into her eyes. Aidan then sincerely affirmed that he was not working for Ryan. Greenlee realized that Aidan was telling the truth and apologized. Then, Greenlee explained that Ryan had her on constant surveillance. Aidan looked around the bar and noticed a private detective he knew. Aidan told the man to stop watching Greenlee and kicked him out of the bar. Greenlee was appreciative. Aidan strongly disagreed with Ryan's scare tactics. Aidan promised Greenlee that he would make sure the other detectives were stopped as well. Then, they began to talk about their bet over the pocket watch. They both began to flirt and laugh as Babe and Annie arrived. Babe and Annie were surprised to see Greenlee and Aidan hanging out. Overwhelmed with happiness, Kendall begins to cry and tells Zach that she feels like a mother.
As Joe and Julia tend to Ava, Lily begins yelling at her sister to wake up if she can hear her. When Ava does not respond, Lily asks Joe if Ava is going to die. Joe and Julie agree that they must immediately remove Ava's appendix. Joe tells Lily that as her family member she has a right to sign release forms, but Ava moans she does not want any scars. JR tells Ava not to be stupid, and let the doctors operate. Joe tells Ava that if her appendix is not removed, it could burst, and shoot bacteria into her body. Lily begs Ava to sign the forms and JR agrees to share more of his business ideas, if she signs the forms. As Joe tries to get Ava to grasp what is happening to her, all she can focus on is JR business plans to make her a star. When Jonathan comes to the hospital, Ava tells him that she thought she was pregnant and was too scared to tell him. Ava tells Jonathan she is too scared to get the surgery, but he says he will be right beside her the entire time. Ava agrees to let Lily sign the form as she screams in pain. Nurses wheel Ava away to prepare her for surgery. Lily tells Jonathan that JR was with Ava when she collapsed and he brought her to the hospital. Jonathan tells JR he didn't waste any time trying to scheme his way into Ava's life. JR says that Jonathan should be thankful because he saved Ava's life. Jonathan only thanks JR for taking Ava to the hospital. As JR walks out, he is bombarded by photographers and reporters. One reporter breaks through the bodyguards and tells JR they are going to publish more pictures of Ava and Jonathan having sex on the beach soon. JR encourages the magazine to print the pictures now, adding that Jonathan used to be married to Ava's half-sister, Lily. The reporter seems pleased with the new information and leaves.
Adam gets a call from an informant, but it is not good news. Adam tells the caller he will remember all the people who crossed him once he is in charge of Chandler Enterprises. A hospital worker tells Adam he must end his call because phones are not allowed in this area of the hospital. When Zach walks out of Ian's room, he is greeted by Adam. Adam gets straight to the point, saying that he wants his home back and Zach agrees. Zach says the Chandler mansion is only worth $1 to him, so Adam hands over his $1 to get his home back. Adam says it is good that he means so little to Zach because he will never see him coming until it's too late.
When Ryan comes home, he is surprised to find the door locked. Annie immediately lets him in and says that she saw Aidan with her mother's locket. Ryan says that Aidan jogs on the beach often so it is not strange for him to find the locket. Annie worries that the locket returning to her is a sign that her past is coming back to haunt her. Ryan says her memories keep returning because she has kept her feelings hidden inside for so long.
Greenlee gets upset when Aidan does not show up for a romantic dinner on the beach. As she walks away, with her picnic basket in tow, she finds an unconscious Aidan lying behind a rock. As Aidan awakens, he tells Greenlee that when he bent down to pick up her locket, someone must have hit him on the head from behind. Aidan picks up the rock that was used to knock him out to have it run for fingerprints. Greenlee tells Aidan that one of Ryan's goons must have followed her and hit Aidan. Aidan seems doubtful, but Greenlee explains it is another warning from Ryan for her to leave town.
Greenlee takes Aidan to the hospital and immediately calls Ryan to give him a piece of her mind. She accuses Ryan of being involved with Aidan's beating, but he denies knowing anything about the incident. When Ryan asks if Aidan is OK, she hangs up on him. Ryan tells Annie that Aidan has been hurt and he rushes to the hospital. Greenlee finds Julia stitching Aidan's scars up on his head. When she blurts out that she and Aidan were to meet on the beach before he got attacked, Julia becomes silent. Julia walks out to get Aidan's paperwork processed. Greenlee apologizes for the incident, but Aidan says it is not her fault. Aidan asks Greenlee if she has any dinner left over, but Greenlee shyly admits she fed some of his dinner to the birds. As Greenlee and Aidan get ready to leave the hospital, Ryan comes by to check on Aidan. Ryan says his guys did not hurt Aidan, but is more surprised when Aidan says it is a bit drastic having people follow Greenlee around. Annie comes to the hospital and overhears Greenlee, Ryan and Aidan trying to figure out who really attacked him. Annie comes over and asks Aidan if he knows who attacked him. Aidan says he is not sure, but will find out soon. Greenlee points out that the attacker did not take his watch and his wallet had very little cash in it. Ryan looks as Annie as they say that the attacker stole the locket. Annie pulls Ryan aside and says that her brother or father may be involved in Aidan's attack. Ryan suggests they use Aidan's private investigator skills to find the attacker, without giving Annie's past away. Ryan tells Aidan that the locket is connected to Annie's mother, but refuses to get into many details. Aidan agrees not to involve Greenlee in the incident more than needed, but still disapproves of having her followed. Ryan tells Annie that he wants to go see her brother, but Annie has an uneasy feeling.
Greenlee looks through the window in Ian's room and sees Kendall holding him.
As Kendall holds her premature son against her chest, she spots Greenlee looking in on them from the hall. Her immediate reaction is a mental note that if Greenlee does anything else to hurt her or anyone in her family, she would retaliate with a force unlike anything her former best friend had ever seen. Then, she closes her eyes and thinks back on the things she and Greenlee had been through over the years – causing her emotions to flow wildly from one end of the spectrum to the other. When she opens them again, she realizes that Greenlee had disappeared from sight. Moments later, Zach shows up to check on them and hears of what just happened. Dismissing it, Kendall thanks him for convincing her that holding Ian was the right thing to do. She informs him that once she turns their son back over to the nurses, her plan is to meet up with Rachael and the kids at the carnival, and then head home. Zach tells her that he has some business to take care of at the office, and then quickly exits the room.
One of Ryan's hired hands drags Greenlee into a main area down the hall from the NICU. He reminds her that his job is to make sure she stays away from Kendall and any member of her family. Greenlee, bolstered by Aidan's assertion that no one has the right to run her out of town, refuses to back down in the face of his demands. He tells her that if she doesn't want to see him, all she has to do is follow Ryan's directives. He leaves quickly, but he is soon replaced by Zach, who takes his turn warning her that she has caused enough pain and that she needs to leave. Enraged that she has to deal with more bullying, Greenlee tells him directly that he is in no position to judge her, given that he is the reason that all of her embryos were destroyed. Zach caustically tells her that the current situation is all about her, not him. She agrees but says that the difference is that she is trying to gain forgiveness for what she'd done, whereas he feels no remorse at all. He tells her that he is all out of forgiveness, but she couldn't care less – her sense of atonement is directed only at Kendall, and she notes that she will not stop trying to fix what she broke until she convinces her former best friend how sorry she is. She then storms away, leaving Zach alone to stew in his own juices.
Ryan arrives at the jail and because he is friends with the mayor, he scores a private meeting with the warden. However, they are soon joined by a man who identifies himself at the prison psychologist, and notes that Ryan really wants to talk to him. The warden leaves the two of them in his office, and Ryan immediately starts making demands for information about Richie, irate that the prison had released him without notifying his sister. The psychologist thinks that Ryan's rage is unjustified and insists that Ryan has gotten faulty information from his wife. Believing that Richie was truly one of the innocent people that was wrongly convicted, the psychologist admits that he found a lawyer for the inmate and together, they were able to work together to present an appeal. Ryan insists that Richie is the person behind the events that have been terrorizing Annie and wants the doctor to divulge his whereabouts. He refuses, saying that even if he knew, it would be unethical to release the information, especially to someone who intends to do him harm. Ryan tries to regain his composure, thinking that a calmer and more rational approach might win him points. However, his attempts are short-lived when he realizes he is getting nowhere. The warden ends up interrupting them and calling an end to the meeting when he realizes how volatile the situation had gotten. Ryan tries to stay despite the declaration finds himself faced with a two against one situation. He has no choice but to offer threats before leaving, saying that when he finds Richie, he will prove both of them wrong and deliver the ex-con back to their doorstep.
Kendall shows up at the carnival and Rachael tells her that she promised Emma that she could go on a special ride now that she was tall enough. Kendall happily takes over watching her son while she observes the girls going off to have fun. Hoping that the vibrations of her voice are soothing, she talks to Spike about all he's been through in his young life and then promises him that things will only look up from here on out. She mentions Greenlee and how she used to be a best friend, but isn't any longer because best friends don't hurt you or your children. She thinks on their history as she had done countless times before and then tells Spike that she now knows what she has to do. She asks the unwitting child to forgive her because she has no choice – and says that she has to do it that very night. Rachael returns with Emma and they prepare to leave. Kendall checks in with Zach by phone, tells him that she feels better than she has in a long time and that after a quick stop, she will meet back up with Rachael at the house.
Aidan escorts Annie home, determined to find out more information about who mugged him. At that moment, Annie discovers that someone managed to put the locket (wrapped in a handkerchief that also belonged to her mother) into her purse. Aidan demands more information on whom she thinks could have pulled a stunt like that, but Annie pretends like she doesn't know anything more than she already told him. He calls her on her lie, so she tells him that she'd already told Ryan everything he needed to know. He points out to her that they could save a lot of time if she would just be forthcoming, but she refuses, saying that if he was meant to know, Ryan would tell him. Aidan won't take her cop out of a response and even though she pointed out how tired she was, he refuses to let her vacate the room. He pushes her to the point of near hysteria with the idea that perhaps she was the so-called mugger, based solely on the information that he has. Agitated, Annie announces that she is going to call Ryan so that he can be in the know about this most recent outrage. Aidan warns her off, saying that Ryan might be at a crucial point with the lead he is pursuing and that if she interrupts him, Ryan will come back immediately and they will lose the ground they have worked so hard to gain. Seeing reason, she ends the call before its completion. She wanders over to the window and, almost as an aside, says that she knows "he" is responsible because things are always the same with "him". Aidan tries to get her to open up one more time, but she continues to maintain her walled-off demeanor. She then claims that she sees someone outside the house looking in, and sends Aidan off to check it out. He comes back a few minutes later and tells her that he didn't find anything. Just then, they see headlights approaching the house, and Annie tenses up once again. As the vehicle gets closer, Aidan is able to determine that it's Rachael's car and that she must be bringing the children home. He goes out to help the nanny and while he is gone, Annie's auditory memory haunts her with the last conversation she had with her brother.
Zach returns to Cambias and stops briefly to pick up the mail piled on the desk outside of his office. Looking at the correspondence that had arrived, he absently opens the door to his inner sanctum and is surprised when he finds Hannah Nichols sitting behind his desk. They both instantly recall their last conversation wherein she tells him that while she knows that she can't replace one child with another, she needs the one she has now.
Greenlee starts to settle in with a drink when she hears a knock at her door. Fairly dreading who she would find on the other side, she slowly cracks the door and is surprised when she sees Kendall.
