Ryan told Annie that he was going to see Greenlee at the hospital. Annie replied that she would stay home with Emma. Ryan gave her a blank look, as if he did not know who Emma was. Annie looked concerned and stated that Ryan needed to see a doctor. Just then, Emma entered. The little girl told her parents that she had a bad dream. Annie asked what it was about. Emma said it was about Richie. So, Ryan and Annie comforted their daughter. After Emma fell back asleep, Ryan left. Annie then received a phone call from the hospital. Annie was told that she could not be a donor for Richie. She looked distraught and cried.

Richie was with Babe at ConFusion. They discussed the possibility that Richie could live a long life. Babe asked him what he would do with a second chance. Richie felt content with his situation because he was spending time with Babe. He called her a "dream." Richie realized that this made her uncomfortable, so he apologized. He then asked if she was dating JR. Babe said no and explained that JR already moved out of his condo. Then, Richie got a call from the hospital. He received the news that Annie was not a match for his transplant. Right after that, Annie called him. Annie relayed her sadness over her inability to help Richie. Richie thanked her for trying and hung up. Babe then consoled Richie about the bad news. Babe assured him that a suitable donor would be found. Richie agreed.

JR was looking through his father's drawers. Adam saw this and confronted him. JR claimed that he was looking at a scrapbook from his childhood. Adam smiled when he saw the book and flipped through the pages. Then, Adam inquired about JR's career status. JR said he still wanted to start a fashion network. Adam was glad to hear this because he had plans for his son. Adam proceeded to offer JR a job at Chandler Industries. JR would run the online division of the company, which would allow him to start his network. JR accepted the offer. Then, Adam said he was going to bed. JR immediately went to the safe, but realized the combination changed. Meanwhile, Adam secretly watched JR's attempt to break into the safe.

Jack arrived at the hospital to see Greenlee. Soon after his arrival, Greenlee began seizing. Angie needed to put Greenlee on a ventilator. Jack, Kendall, Zach, and Aidan were very worried. Angie informed them that Greenlee's symptoms were the same as Frankie and Sylvester's symptoms. Kendall felt helpless, but refused to remain idle while her friend suffered. So, Kendall bought Greenlee silk pajamas. Kendall also gave her a hair clip that belonged to Mona. She hoped these items would make her friend more comfortable. Then, Kendall urged Greenlee to recover because she needed her best friend. Meanwhile, Frankie was resting in his room when his father, Jesse, entered. Jesse apologized for leaving him and his mother. Jesse affirmed that he never stopped loving his family. Then, Jesse left and Joe entered. Frankie wrote Joe a note that said Jesse visited him. Joe was concerned and showed the note to Angie. Angie believed that her son was hallucinating, which added to her stress. Tad saw that Angie was worn out and made her take a break. Angie worried about not finding an antidote in time, and also, if an antidote were found, that it would not be tested. Angie would have to use Frankie as a "guinea pig" for the antidote, which might kill him anyway. Tad was confident that she would find a proper cure. Angie then went back to Frankie's room, not knowing that Jesse was hiding just around the corner.

Erica finds Jackson sleeping in the hospital waiting room. When he awakens, Erica says she has come to donate blood for Greenlee. Jackson thanks Erica for her donation, but understands she has work to handle at New Beginnings. Erica says Greenlee has the best father in the world, kisses Jackson and rushes off. Erica asks Val to look at her financial records at New Beginnings to find any errors. Pam, the producer, tells Erica it may be a good idea to have Samuel Woods, a politician, appear on the show. In the meantime, Erica tells Val to have lunch delivered to Jackson at the hospital. Val is unable to find the letter Erica was searching for. Erica and Pam look at a few clips of Samuel and seem impressed.

Angie tells Kendall that Greenlee is stable and breathing on her own. Ryan visits Greenlee, who jokes that she must look extremely attractive in the hospital. Ryan tells Greenlee she has never looked more beautiful, but leaves to let her rest. Kendall and Ryan reminisce on the many stunts they have been through with Greenlee. Kendall asks how Annie is holding up. Ryan explains that Annie is having a tough time accepting she is not a blood match for Richie. Kendall visits Greenlee, but Greenlee is quickly wheeled away for a body scan.

Angie overhears Joe talking to specialists who are not sure how to treat Greenlee and Frankie. Angie suggests they go with the new drug, despite its unknown side effects. She visits Frankie and insists he will pull through. But Frankie can sense his mother is keeping something from him. She explains that a new drug is going to remove the poison that is destroying his body. Joe comes in with the drug and Angie administers it to Frankie. As Frankie lays unconscious, he dreams that his father returns from the dead to visit him in the hospital. Frankie wakes up and tries to rush out of bed. Angie pins him down and begs for Frankie to remain calm. She goes to the church and prays to Jesse to keep Frankie alive and well. Angie goes back to see Frankie, but he begins having seizures and trouble breathing.

Babe tells her mother Annie was not a blood match for Richie. Now, he will have to be put on a waiting list for a bone marrow transplant. As JR rounds the corner, he sarcastically says, "Poor Richie." Babe is insulted that JR could be so cruel at such a painful time for Richie. JR says he has come to donate blood for Greenlee. Babe asks JR where he is living now, and is angered to find out he is back at the Chandler mansion. After JR sulks off, Krystal admits she asked JR to move home to find out if Adam knows Kate's whereabouts.

JR is surprised to find his father has a gift for him at the home. Adam hands JR a ring his father gave him several years earlier. Adam says the ring represents where the Chandler family came from. JR says he would be honored to wear the ring and hugs his father. Krystal decides to call off the plan and calls JR. JR explains his father has given him a ring, but does not want to back out. Adam listens to the conversation through a device implanted in the ring.

Annie finds Richie alone and wallowing in his sorrow at the park. He gives Emma a hug before she runs off to play with a friend. Annie apologizes for not being a blood match, but Richie is doubtful his sister would have helped. Richie claims he has forgiven Annie for everything she has done to him. Emma rushes up, begging Annie for some hot chocolate. While Annie is gone, Richie takes the opportunity tell Emma that she could save his life like a sick tree in the garden, but her parents won't allow it. When Annie returns, Richie tells Emma to take care of herself and leaves. Ryan meets Annie and Emma at the park. Emma tells her parents that Richie told her she could save him. Ryan tells Emma only grown-ups can help Richie.

Kendall and Greenlee watched with horror as Frankie went into cardiac arrest. Angie was intent on saving her son. Finally, Frankie became stable again. Angie informed Joe about Frankie's cardiac arrest. Joe stated that he did not want Angie to work on Frankie's case any longer. Angie protested that she had no choice but to try to save her son. Then, she began to sob. Joe comforted her and professed his confidence in her medical abilities. Angie apologized for being unprofessional and returned to work. She then assembled her staff, so they could attempt to perfect the antidote. The staff could not decipher whether or not the antidote caused Frankie's cardiac arrest. They were still unsure if the antidote was a cure or a poison.

Greenlee and Kendall sat together in a hospital room. Greenlee was distraught over Frankie's heart failure. She wondered if she would also go into cardiac arrest. Kendall urged her to stay positive. Greenlee thanked Kendall and then told her to leave for her had a meeting with the publisher. Zach entered just as Kendall refused to leave. Zach told Kendall that he would watch Greenlee while she attended the meeting. So, Kendall left.

Angie and Nick, the other doctor working on Greenlee and Frankie's case, consulted over Greenlee's newest test results. The tests showed that Greenlee's health was deteriorating faster than any of the other infected patients. Jack and Aidan overheard Angie and Nick discussing the bad news. They demanded to know the truth about Greenlee's condition. Angie explained that they did not know if the antidote would help or hurt Greenlee. However, Angie was certain that Greenlee would die if she did not take the antidote. Jack and Aidan were frustrated that a definite cure could not be found.

Babe, Amanda, and Ava were working at Fusion. Babe was in an awful mood. Amanda assumed that Richie was the cause of her ill-tempered state. Babe admitted that she was upset because Richie found out that Annie could not be his bone marrow donor. Then, Kendall arrived. When she entered the office, she saw the banner that said, "Welcome Back Kendall and Greenlee!" Kendall immediately ripped the banner off the wall. Then, Kendall's publisher, Kelly, arrived. Kelly explained that she wanted Kendall involved in every aspect of the publishing process. Kendall said she did not have a lot of time to devote to the book. Kelly affirmed that the publishing company would do everything they could to make it an easy process for Kendall.

Jack and Aidan told Greenlee about the situation with the antidote. Greenlee was undecided on whether or not she should take a gamble with the antidote. Greenlee asked to speak with Zach in private. Aidan looked surprised and hurt by Greenlee's request, but complied. Then, Greenlee and Zach talked. Greenlee asked Zach to save her life again, like he did in the bomb shelter. Zach assured Greenlee that she could survive anything. Greenlee was nervous about taking the antidote, but she stated that it was her only option. Meanwhile, Kendall arrived back at the hospital. Kendall looked very distressed when she saw Zach comforting Greenlee.

Thursday, January 31

Erica tells Val to call the hospital and find out Greenlee's condition. Pam comes into the office and asks Erica if she has looked at the additional footage of Samuel Woods. Erica is not interested in Samuel being a guest, even though other shows can't seem to get enough of him. After Pam leaves, Erica calls Whoopi, a host on The View, and is bombarded by paperwork. She tries to call Jackson, but he does not answer. Instead, Samuel calls Erica to decline Pam's offer to appear on New Beginnings. He says that his busy schedule won't let him appear on the show. Erica is not happy that Samuel has turned her down, even though she wasn't keen on him being a guest. She slams the telephone on the receiver and demands Pam find some way to get Samuel on her show.

Richie comes to see Ryan and Annie at their home. They inform Richie that Emma told them about his idea for her to save him. Ryan says that Emma cried herself to sleep because she thought her parents would not allow her to help Richie. Annie brings Emma downstairs so Richie can tell Emma the truth. Richie explains that he did not know only adults could help him. Richie claims he has found an adult who can help him so she should not worry anymore. After Richie is gone, Emma falls asleep on the couch between Annie and Ryan. The next morning, Annie and Emma wake up Ryan. He claims to not know them.

Adam beams as JR continues to wear the ring. As soon as JR leaves the house, he calls Krystal to let her know he is coming to her home. But JR has no clue Adam can hear everything he says. Julia brings Kathy over to Tad and Krystal's home while she goes to work. JR arrives at the house and is surprised when Krystal wants to back out of the plan. JR figures Babe had something to do with Krystal's change of heart. Krystal admits that Babe made her realize she was being selfish by using JR to get to the truth about Adam. JR says that if Adam knows where Kate is, JR wants to find out. Tad overhears JR saying that he has moved back into the Chandler mansion to help Tad. JR explains that he wanted to prove to himself and Tad he could stand up to Adam. Kathy drags Tad away for another game. Krystal decides to let JR proceed with his plans. Filled with anger, Adam burns Kate's adoption papers.

Joe brings Angie a cup of coffee. He says Greenlee has agreed to the procedure, but has a few questions for Angie. Joe offers Angie a permanent position at the hospital, but wants to focus on saving Greenlee and Frankie before making that decision. Greenlee thanks Zach, Kendall, and Aidan for supporting her as she tries to battle the illness. Angie comes into the room. Greenlee asks Angie what her chances are of surviving the procedure. Angie bluntly says that the drug is experimental, and her chances of recovering are very slim. Greenlee gets a surprise visit from Lily, who hands her a picture of the two of them at Erica and Jackson's wedding. With tears in her eyes, Greenlee thanks Lily for the generous gift. Jackson asks Aidan to escort Lily outside while he has a few minutes with Greenlee alone. Erica stops by the hospital to keep Jackson company. They decide to go the boathouse, talk all night, and fall asleep nestled under a blanket.

Kendall comes up with an idea for something nice she and Zach could do for Greenlee. They return to Greenlee's room with Spike before Julia prepares to sedate Greenlee. Joe inserts the medicine in Greenlee's IV. The following morning, Angie looks at Greenlee's fingers and notices she is not responding to the medicine. They demand Aidan leave the room as doctors give Greenlee oxygen. Aidan calls Zach, Kendall, and Jackson to tell them Greenlee is in trouble.

Frankie wiggles back and forth in his bed with Jesse by his side. Jesse urges Frankie to be strong, but hides when he hears someone coming to the door. Angie sits by Frankie's side, looking at the picture of her and Jesse. Julia interrupts to let Angie know Greenlee is ready to start her treatment. Once Angie is gone, Jesse sits with his son again.

Friday, February 1

Ryan wakes up and doesn't recognize Annie, and is concerned that she drugged him to get him into her bed. Emma comes back in and frightened that he would scare their daughter, she asks that he stop playing games. He belligerently tells her that he isn't joking and that he doesn't believe that she is a part of his family. Annie is aghast at the possibility that he has truly lost his memory. She leaves him briefly to get a photo album, in an attempt to remind him of who he has been for the past two years. He sees the pictures but doesn't believe that they are real. He refuses to look at more, so she tries to tell him about the gunshot wound to his head, and he believes she is trying to make him feel crazy. He tells her that he knows who he is, and that he isn't married but used to be - to Gillian Andrassy. She offers to get in touch with some doctors, ones that have told her that he might have problems with his memory, but he rejects this, saying that he plans to see a doctor, but one of his choosing - Joe Martin.

At the hospital, Kendall and Zach panic when they hear that a code has been called in Greenlee's room. Joe helps to clear out the room so that Angie can work, and when he has them in the hall he tells them that the virus is attacking her heart and lungs. He tells them that Angie is stabilizing Greenlee but that the best thing that they can do is to call Jack. Aidan says that he'd done so already and had left a message but Joe impresses upon him the urgency of getting through to Jack. He says that Greenlee is unstable enough that if necessary, they need someone there to make a call about how best to take care of her. Back in the room, Angie finally gets Greenlee stabilized, but it lasts just a moment before the patient starts to have a seizure.

At the Chandler mansion, JR greets his father and finds Adam to be in a poor mood. Adam asks why his son missed dinner the night before and JR is vague in admitting where he was. Adam calls him on it, and JR uses AA as an excuse, saying that he was at a meeting. Knowing full well where his son was, Adam continues to be belligerent. JR tries to let it go, and moves on to a business discussion he wants to have with his father. Adam tells him that he is preparing for a conference call, so any discussion will have to wait. JR, having heard the caustic tone in his father's voice many times before, asks Adam to be forthcoming if he has something that he wants to say. Adam blasts back that he has nothing to offer, but does have a lot on his mind. JR decides to wait out his father's current mood, and heads into the foyer, closing the door behind him. When he does, Stuart joins his brother in the living room and expresses his excitement that JR is back in the house. Adam lets out his vitriol then, and notes that his son can go straight to hell for betraying the family. Stuart wants to know why his brother is so angry, and Adam tells him that JR didn't come back out of loyalty - only to spy on his father. Stuart then spots the listening device and asks what it is. Before Adam can answer, Stuart puts it to his ear and hears JR's conversation out in the foyer. Adam only lets him listen for a moment before taking the device away, and Stuart intuitively notes that Adam has no right to be angry about JR spying when he is doing the very same thing. Adam tries to justify his actions, saying that he is doing what he needs to so that he can find out the things he needs to know. Having seen this pattern of behavior over the years, Stuart reminds his brother that he is the only one that ever gets hurt in situations like these, and goes on to say that the sad part is that Adam never learns. Adam tells him that JR is consorting with the enemy, but then has to tell his brother which one, as Adam has so many that Stuart has lost track. When Adam tells him that he is referring to Krystal, Stuart is taken aback because he thought that Adam loved her. Adam tells him he no longer feels that way because she married Tad. Stuart believes that she had to but in Adam's view, she chose to do so as a way to deny the feelings she still has for her ex-husband. He goes on to tell him that he won't be made to look like a fool by anyone, especially not his family. Stuart tells Adam that he should talk to his son and bring everything out into the open. Adam refuses to try, simply saying that he can never forgive JR for what he'd done this time.

The doorbell rings, and JR finds his ex-wife at the door. He worries that he missed an appointment with his son, but she tells him that she simply came by to apologize for giving him a hard time about moving back into the mansion. JR tells her that it's understandable given how he acted about moving back into his father's house. Babe confesses that Krystal told her what was going on, and she tells JR that she couldn't be more proud of him. JR apologizes for keeping her in the dark and says the he didn't want Babe to get caught in the crossfire. Babe says that she is more concerned about him, because she knows what his father and this house have meant to him over the years. JR tells her that he needs to push that aside and find out if his father is hiding information on Kate. He tells her that if it turns out to be true, the father/son relationship really will be over. Babe doesn't believe him, and knows how painful it would be if he lost Adam. JR agrees but says that he still needs to face off with his father. Babe tells him that she believes in him and says that JR has it in him to be a better man than Adam could ever be, and assures him that she has his back. He walks her to the door, and she reminds him how proud she is that he is doing the right thing. He notes that he hasn't done that very often and apologizes for all that he has put her through. She tells him that he has been doing good things more and more and that if he continues to do so, she'll call them even.

As they sit at the boathouse, Jack thanks Erica for helping him get through a night of worrying about his daughter, shortly before his phone rings. When answers the call, Aidan tells him that Greenlee has taken a turn for the worse. He says that he is on his way and after ending the call, he updates Erica and she assures him that she will follow him to the hospital.

Tad arrives at the hospital and finds his father, quickly asking for an update on Frankie. Joe is able to offer some good news, but says that with every progressive move in one case comes setbacks with the other. Joe then tells Tad that he isn't sure if Greenlee will make it. They part ways and Tad goes to visit Frankie. Having heard that Frankie thought he saw his father, he takes the opportunity to tell stories of life when Jesse was alive. He tells the unconscious young man that if Jesse were here, he would be fighting for his son's life. As Jesse looks in through the window, Tad also tells Frankie that if he believes he saw Jesse, he did, because Jesse was the kind of man that would be there for you whenever you needed him, and always would be. He starts to tell stories of how Angie used to be when the woman in question shows up in the room. They stroll down memory lane a bit, recalling how things have changed in Pine Valley. Angie admits that she has been dreaming about Jesse a lot and attributes it to the fact that she is back home. She also notes that she wants to believe her son when he says that he saw his father. Tad tells her that Frankie will beat the infections, and that because of him, a piece of Jesse will continue to live on. She thanks Tad for being in both of their lives, and then leaves to check on Greenlee once again. Out in the hall Jesse, trying to make a clean escape, almost has a run in with Jack. Back in Frankie's room, Tad says his goodbyes, reiterating his desire that the young man be triumphant over the virus because his mother needs him. As he turns to leave, he spots Jesse and after a moment of disbelief, takes off to try to catch up with him.

Jack arrives at the hospital and Angie escorts him as well as the others out into the hall. She informs them that Greenlee has slipped into a coma, and Jack frantically asks if a higher dosage of the antidote can be given. Kendall asks if it's a temporary setback but all Angie can tell them is that they have to wait and see what happens. Zach tries to assure Jack that everything will be okay, and Kendall wonders if their only option is to sit around and wait. Aidan says that they need to go in and let Greenlee know that they are all pulling for her. In the hospital room, Greenlee has an out of body experience. She sees her loved ones come in, offering their love and support, and is somewhat amazed that the people in her everyday life really do care about her. Erica shows up and the first thing that she offers is to go get something for Jack. Ethereal Greenlee cackles at that, saying that she isn't surprised that the first thing Erica would want to do is jump ship. She is surprised then when Erica turns around to face her because she was sure that no one could see her. Erica notes that she is a figment of Greenlee's subconscious mind, but Greenlee doesn't believe that she would conjure up Erica above all of the other people in her life. Erica notes that Greenlee wants to fight so it makes sense that she would call up the one person that she fights with most often. They throw barbs back and forth at one another, with Greenlee accusing Erica of using the current situation to sink her claws in Jack once again. Erica tells Greenlee that she is jealous when she shouldn't be, given all of the amazing people in her life. She tells Greenlee that if she wants to fight, she needs to wake up, get out of her hospital gown and actually do it - because she is always up for battling her former stepdaughter. Moments later, her conversation turns to one with Aidan. They laugh for a few moments over how it is that they got together, and Greenlee notes her thanks that he fell in love with her despite all of the times that she fought with him. He tells her that he has never been so crazy about someone, and that he would go even crazier if he lost her again. She thanks him for saving her, and for sticking by her when everyone else wanted to give up. She then professes her love for him, but when she tries to kiss him, the communication breaks and he is pulled back into real time, where he and Jack go to check in with the doctors, leaving Zach to watch over the patient. Once alone, Ethereal Greenlee has a few moments to connect with Zach. He tells her again that she is not who he thought she was, and that they are bonded together for life because of their experiences in the shelter. He urges her to get back to her life, and she promises that she will - for the good of everyone. Jack connects with her then, and they touch on how many years they missed out on as father and daughter. He tells her that they have plenty of years to right that wrong, but she hesitates, saying that the situation looks pretty serious. He tells her that his daughter is a fighter, and never gives up. The men clear out, and are replaced by Kendall, who gets to revisit her life and love with her best friend. Together they flash back on all of the good times they have had, and then Greenlee tells Kendall that she is her one and only true friend. Kendall tells her that she will always be here for her, and Greenlee points out the good in that, since things are about to get crazy. With that, the connection breaks and in real time, Kendall realizes that Greenlee's heart rate is starting to spike again. Kendall calls for help, and Angie comes running in with the rest of Greenlee's loved ones hot on her tail. Ethereal Greenlee screams in distress as her physical body flat-lines, insisting that she isn't ready to die and begging them to do something to bring her back to life.

Ryan and Annie land at the hospital and when Joe joins them in the waiting area, Annie quickly jumps in and tells him what happened when they woke up that morning. Not believing that she has any reason to be included in his discussions with his doctor, Ryan pulls Joe to the side and tells him that he believes he had too much to drink the night before since a woman and child that he'd never seen before were in his bed this morning. Joe tries to placate Ryan by taking everything he has to say in stride and offering to take the conversation into his office. Ryan wants immediate results and when Annie pleads with Joe to tell her what is going on, Ryan's agitation elevates a few notches and he demands that Joe tell Annie that she is crazy. Joe refuses to address most of what Ryan has said directly, simply confirming the story about the gunshot wound, and telling Ryan that they should run some routine tests to find out what is going on. Ryan starts to refuse but when Joe asks Ryan to trust him, Ryan acquiesces. When Annie tries to go with Ryan to the exam room, he tells her that he needs to go through the testing alone. When he walks off, Joe tells a very worried Annie that she needs to give them some time alone and that he will update her as soon as possible. A short time later, Joe meets with her and tells her that physically, Ryan is fine, but that some neurological tests need to be run. Annie wonders if it will be permanent, but Joe tells her that she doesn't need to jump to the worst case scenario. Annie asks to see Ryan, but Joe hesitates, noting that her anxious disposition wouldn't help her husband. She promises that she will keep herself in control, and when they turn to go and find Ryan, they see that he has found them first. Ryan tells her that Joe showed her the paper with today's date on it and, knowing that, he has realized that he has lost four years of his life. Annie tries to comfort Ryan by saying that she understands that everything is confusing right now, but when she goes to hug him, he instinctively backs up so as to keep her at arm's length.
