John Callahan joined All My Children in April 1992.
A familiar face to television audiences, Callahan came to "All My Children" from the daytime drama, "Santa Barbara," on which he played the highly charged role of Craig Hunt.
Earlier, he portrayed the character Eric Stavros, the playboy son of Cesar Romero, on the prime-time serial, "Falcon Crest," for nearly three years. Prior to that, Callahan appeared on ABC's daytime drama, "General Hospital," as Leo Russell, a master masseur.
In addition to his serial work, Callahan had a recurring role on the ABC series, "Our Family Honor"; and made numerous guest appearances on prime-time series, including "Murder, She Wrote," "Three's Company," "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," "Fantasy Island" and "Hotel." He was also featured in the made-for-television movies, "M.A.D.D." and "When She Says No."
A native of New York City, Callahan moved west to attend the University of California, Berkeley, as a pre-law student. After working through college as a bartender, he landed a job as a nightclub manager. He then decided upon a career in entertainment.
John is an avid golfer, enjoys softball, reading and traveling, and is active in several charities.
In November 1996, John married his onscreen wife Eva LaRue (Maria Santos) in a private wedding in Hawaii. The two separated in 2004.
