Vilasuso is of Cuban descent. His parents, Ana and Dr. Frank Vilasuso, raised him in Coral Gables, Florida, along with his older brother, Javier, and his younger sister, Marianne. Vilasuso attended Ransom Everglades High School and later, Glendale Community College in California.

He has appeared in the films Angels Don't Sleep Here, The Last Home Run, Rodeo, and Non-Smoking. On television, he has appeared in Unsolved Mysteries, America's Most Wanted, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and USA Networks' Arrest and Trial -- in which his father also appeared.

Vilasuso's hobbies include photography, poetry, writing, and working out. He is 5'10" and his birthday is June 15. Acting Portfolio All My Children
