Carly and her friend, Char, from the Galaxy Club, cook up a plan to "get Nick in the sack," thinking he is with Carly. Then they plan to film Nick to get him fired from the police force. Char dresses like Carly, and Carly types an unsigned note to Nick, sprayed with Carly's perfume. Nick makes Jack angry by kicking him off the Anatoly case at the Galaxy Club, then Nick goes home and asks a lonely Katie out to dinner. While Nick is getting ready, Katie picks up the note to Nick from her doorstep. She recognizes Carly's perfume.

Casey and Maddie drive Will and Gwen to the next town where they meet with Judge Steve Colby. After Will and Gwen tell Judge Steve about their plight, the judge agrees to marry them right away. In fifteen minutes, Maddie puts together a lovely outfit for Gwen, and Gwen walks down the aisle toward Will.

In the main room of the police station, Paul tells Jennifer, Barbara, and Hal that he killed Dusty. Paul sees that Meg is just outside the door listening. When Barbara and Jen tell Paul that they think he is covering for someone else, Paul tells a convincing story. He says that he and Dusty scuffled, and Dusty left the Wagon Wheel motel room and went to the parking lot. Paul followed Dusty, killed him with his cane, and buried his body in the nearby woods. Paul tells everyone that he can't remember where he buried Dusty. Jessica arrives, and desperately tries to get Paul to stop talking. Outside the door, Jack watches Meg suspiciously. When Paul is brought out on the way to his cell, Meg asks him, "Why did you do it?'' Paul gives Meg a very direct look and says calmly, "I just did what I had to do."

At the Lakeview, Carly preps Chardonnay on the plan. After Chardonnay goes upstairs in a blonde wig, Carly turns to leave and runs into Lily. Meanwhile, at Katie's house, Nick reads Carly's note and when Katie asks him who it's from, he says it's related to the case and he can't discuss it. Katie presses him and he denies that he's going to meet Carly. After he leaves the house, Katie goes after him. Back at the Lakeview, Carly is trying to make an escape but Lily is suspicious. When Carly asks her to come back to the house with her, she wonders what's going on. As Carly is explaining that she's trying to help Jack, Nick walks in and she hides her face. She admits to Lily that Nick is a part of her plan but insists that everything will work out fine. She asks Lily not to tell Jack or Holden and to be her alibi if she needs one. She reminds Lily of the help she gave her in cleaning up the crime scene when Julia was murdered. Lily warns Carly that this will blow up in her face and tells her to stop before it's too late. Katie enters the lobby and demands to know what's going on. Lily covers for Carly and they tell Katie they are meeting each other. Carly leaves for home. As all of this is taking place, Nick waits for Carly in Room 417 and drinks several glasses of champagne. Seemingly drugged, his vision gets blurred and he becomes very sluggish. Just then Chardonnay walks in wearing the blonde wig. Nick attempts to make conversation as she undresses. After a few minutes he senses something is wrong and mumbles that she put something in his champagne as he passes out on the couch. Chardonnay makes a quick call to Carly to tell her Nick is taken care of and there is a knock on the door. Anatoly comes in with 2 of his thugs. They destroy the camera Carly hid and joke about her scheme. Meanwhile, as Carly arrives home, Katie is there. She accuses Carly of wearing the perfume that was used on Nick's note. She again demands to know what's going on. Carly warns Katie to leave her alone before she throws her off her property.

Jade sneaks into Lily and Holden's bedroom and takes a charm bracelet out of Lily's jewelry box. She hears Holden coming and hides. When he goes into the shower, she goes back to the box to return the bracelet, but he comes back into the room. She lies and tells him she was looking for a sweater of Lily's that needs fixing. She tells him she learned how to knit at the orphanage. Jade brings the bracelet into the stables and is looking at it when Emma walks in. Jade tries to cover but when she drops the bracelet, Emma recognizes it. She tells Emma that she found it in the hay while she was looking for her sunglasses. Emma asks her to tell the truth - was she trying to hide the bracelet? At this moment, Luke, having overheard part of the conversation, comes in and tells Emma that he asked Jade to smuggle the bracelet out of the house so they could surprise Lily with a new charm. When Emma questions why Jade lied to her, Jade tells her she didn't think Emma would believe her if she told her the truth. When Emma leaves, Luke confronts Jade and says he knows the bracelet was in his mother's jewelry box. He asks Jade who she really is. Back at the Snyder house, Lily comes home and Holden tells her about Jade and the sweater. Lily seems surprised that Jade learned to knit from the nuns.

Jade and Holden talk about Luke and Kevin, with Jade asserting that no one ever said Kevin was interested in Luke, that it was something that Holden imagined on his own. Meg arrives to talk to Holden, so Jade goes back inside the house to chat with Luke.

Lily takes Lucinda's private jet and goes to New Jersey to visit Sister Elizabeth in the Catholic orphanage where Jade was born. There, she is told that Rose's daughter was actually named Theresa, after the founder of their religious order, and that she was adopted by a family who truly loved her but that she wanted to find out more about her birth mother and returned to the orphanage looking for information. When she found out that Rose had died, Theresa spent several weeks at the orphanage, looking through their mementos of Rose and talking to the nuns about her, before returning to her adoptive family. Sister Elizabeth tells Lily that because Theresa's adoptive family was of modest means, she had considered pursuing a contact with Lily and her family but ultimately had decided against it. She also tells Lily that Jade was born at the orphanage about the same time that Rose arrived to have her baby, was adopted as an infant, but was brought back to the orphanage when the adoption didn't work out. Jade later met Theresa and became friends with her, earning Theresa's trust, but she ultimately betrayed her by taking some of Theresa's documents about her birth. According to Sister Elizabeth, Jade had also stolen from the nuns and was a good con artist and a brilliant liar. She warns Lily that if Jade is trying to get close to her family, she should be very careful.

Meanwhile, Luke and Jade discuss the fact that Lily told Luke she had to "get the truth" about something as soon as possible, and after Luke leaves the room, Jade sees the phone number for the orphanage and realizes that's where Lily must have gone.

Meg tells Holden that she can't believe Paul has confessed to killing Dusty, because she knows he didn't do it. Holden wonders how she could know such a thing and tells her she shouldn't try to help Paul. Holden tells Meg how much he and the kids missing seeing her around, and she says she misses them, too.

Susan shows Emily the newspaper headline stating that Paul has confessed to murdering Dusty, but Emily says that Paul is innocent and wonders why he's lying about it. After Susan leaves to go to the hospital, Emily calls Henry and tells him to come over right away. Once he's there, she asks him why he thinks Paul is lying, and he says because after Emily told Paul about finding the bloody wallet in Meg's room, Paul realized that if the police found out about that, they'd go after Meg, and Henry thinks that means that Paul took a preemptive strike by confessing to the murder in order to keep the cops from going after Meg. Emily doesn't understand why Paul would do such a thing, but she says she intends to find out, and she calls and leaves a message for Hal, saying she and Henry need to talk to him. Hal comes to Susan's house to talk to them, and Emily has Henry tell him a lie about having been in Meg's room to check out the view for a client of his and then having found the bloody wallet. Emily verifies that she saw the wallet, too, and tells Hal that this means that Meg killed Dusty.

At the police station, Carly goes to talk to Nick, telling him she doesn't believe he was involved with drugs in any way. He tells her he knows she set him up, but Carly has an answer for everything he accuses her of doing, saying she was with Lily all evening, and lots of people know what kind of perfume Carly wears, and someone else could have been made up to look like Carly, in order to trap Nick. Carly tells Nick that someone from the Galaxy Club could have "made" him as a cop and decided to try to get him out of the picture. Nick remains convinced that Carly orchestrated the whole thing, but Carly insists she would never have anything to do with drugs or do anything that would put his life or Jack's life in jeopardy. Jack arrives and wants to know why Carly's there; Nick tells him that Carly believes him, not Jack, about what happened last night. Jack tells Carly to leave, now, and she does. Jack then tells Nick that one of the conditions of his bail will be that he not come around the police station. Carly goes to the Galaxy Club and asks Butch where Chardonnay is, but Butch tells her he doesn't know anyone by that name and tells her to leave. Katie, having borrowed money from Nancy Hughes to bail Nick out of jail, arrives at the jail and takes Nick back to her place. She is astounded to hear that Nick didn't tell Jack about the note from Carly and the room key that came with it, but Nick said he couldn't bring himself to tell Jack. Katie picks up the phone and says she'll do it.
