Paulo Benedeti's (Antonio Dominguez) arrival on The Bold and the Beautiful this past year has left an indelible mark in viewers' minds. The B&B newcomer was this year's top nominee in the Soap Opera Central Awards.

Benedeti pulled in four nominations, three of them coming in what are seen as major categories: Outstanding Supporting Actor, Outstanding Newcomer and Outstanding Overall Performer. The fourth nomination came in the Most Attractive Male Performer. Benedeti had also received a substantial number of nominations in the Outstanding Lead Actor field, but not enough votes to place on the final ballot.

In addition to solo nominations for Benedeti, his character's storylines featured prominently in the balloting. The storyline revolving around Antonio's diagnosis with HIV grabbed nominations for Favorite and Least Favorite Storyline. Additionally, the moment in which Tony learned that he was HIV-positive was nominated for the Worst Moment of the Year.

Benedeti's on-screen love interest Tracy Melchior (Kristen Forrester) also earned a heap of nominations in her first year of Dankies eligibility. Malchior earned nods in the Supporting Actress, Newcomer and Attractive Female Performer fields. Like Benedeti - and all performers nominated in the Lead and Supporting Actor and Actress fields -- she also received a nod in the Overall Performer category.

Don't be misled, however. This year's Dankies nominations were not all about the newcomers. Veterans Ronn Moss (Ridge Forrester), Winsor Harmon (Thorne Forrester), Susan Flannery (Stephanie Forrester) and Hunter Tylo (Taylor Forrester) were all multiple nominees. Moss and Harmon received three nominations apiece (Lead Actor, Most Attractive Male Performer and Overall Performer). Flannery grabbed a Lead Actress and Favorite Character nomination, plus the Overall Performer. Tylo was also nominated in those three areas, plus the Most Attractive Female Performer field.

And proving that out of sight is not necessarily out of mind, there were a handful of nominations for performers no longer with B&B. Mick Cain (CJ Garrison) earned a nomination in the Supporting Actor field. Cain also was among the field in the Most Missed Performer category, with other nominations going to Sarah Buxton (Morgan DeWitt), Ashley Lynn Cafagna (Kimberly Fairchild) and Aaron Lustig (Tim Reid).
