One Life to Live alum Hillary B. Smith will be doling out advice as a therapist on The Bold and the Beautiful. The Emmy-winning actress, who played OLTL's Nora for 20 years, will play a newly created role beginning next month.
The Bold and the Beautiful has hired Emmy-winning actress Hillary B. Smith for the newly created role of a psychiatrist. Smith will play the role of "Dr. Stacy," a sex therapist.
"Hillary is a formidable actress with a powerful screen presence," B&B's executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell said in a statement. "I look forward to collaborating on this new and dynamic character with her on The Bold and the Beautiful."
Just hours before the news of Smith's B&B appearance was announced, the actress capped off a 20-year run as Nora Hanen Buchanan on ABC's One Life to Live. During her run with One Life to Live, Smith was twice nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress category of the Daytime Emmys. She took home the award in 1994.
Smith had informed followers on Twitter earlier in the day that she'd be starting a new project "at the end of the month [...] Not ABC."
Prior to joining One Life to Live, Smith appeared on CBS's As the World Turns as Margo Hughes from 1983 to 1990.
Smith will first air on March 8, but CBS has not yet revealed which character or characters might be needing Dr. Stacy's help.
Update: Due to a pre-emption, Smith's first airdate will now be March 9.
