Singer, B&B alum Usher Raymond to receive Walk of Fame star

Usher Raymond will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to celebrate his amazing accomplishments as a recording artist. 18 years ago, the pop star also graced the screens of daytime television viewers.

Though he is best known for his musical career and can currently be seen in the feature film Hands of Stone, Usher Raymond IV will always be part of our soap opera family. Now the multi-hyphenate performer is getting his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his amazing recording career.

"Usher is one of the most successful artists of our modern music world. We are proud to welcome him to the Hollywood Walk of Fame," stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Walk of Famer ceremonies.

Born in 1978 in Dallas, Usher has notched nine No. 1 hits on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in his lengthy musical career, and he's sold more than 75 million albums worldwide. His song "Yeah!" was the top song of 2004. Usher's new album entitled Hard II Love is set to be released on September 16th.

Usher has also set his sights on acting. His first foray into the world of professional acting brought him to daytime television. In 1998, Usher appeared as Raymond on CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful. From there, he went on to appear on Moesha and in a handful of movies. He's currently earning praise -- and raising eyebrows for a steamy sex scene -- as Sugar Ray Leonard in the film Hands of Stone, which is now in theaters.

He is also a part owner of the NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers and a co-owner of the Tidal music streaming service.

The ceremony for Usher's star on the Walk of Fame -- the 2,588th to be dedicated -- will be held September 7 at 11:30 a.m. PDT at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard (near the famous corner of Hollywood & Vine).
