In Darla's hospital room, Taylor weeps, blaming herself for Darla's accident. When Thorne comes in he tells her it isn't her fault. He thinks Taylor is just blaming herself because she didn't get to Phoebe before Darla did. Not realizing that it's Taylor, Thorne tells her the only person at fault is "the sick bastard who hit Darla and left her for dead." Taylor is wrecked with guilt, but before she can confess, Christian comes in to examine Darla.
Outside Darla's room, Phoebe plays back the events in her head for Lt. Baker. Hind site being 20/20, Phoebe keeps second guessing herself about ways the accident could have been prevented. When Sally, Clarke and Stephanie arrive, Thorne explains what happened, describing the accident as a hit and run. While all this is going on, Hector is standing on the sidelines worrying about Taylor's involvement. Hector does a check on Taylor's driving record and is shocked to discover that she has a DUI. When Lt. Baker tries to question Taylor, Hector intercedes, attempting to protect her. Hector is very concerned about Taylor and decides to drive her and Phoebe home. Lt. Baker thinks it's a good idea for Hector to drive them home since he knows Taylor has been drinking. In the car, Taylor tells Hector that she wants to go back to the hospital and tell Thorne the truth. Hector warns her not to say it was her fault or she will end up in jail. Taylor is unconcerned about what the outcome will be for herself. Hector understands her feelings of guilt, but he is worried about her because he loves her. He tells her that he knows about her DUI. Phoebe is shocked and refuses to believe her mother would ever drive drunk. Taylor admits it is true and that she has a drinking problem. She tells Phoebe that she had been drinking that night and should not have been driving. Hector worries about the fact that Lt. Baker smelled alcohol on Taylor's breath. Despite what they say, Phoebe maintains that she saw what happened and is was not Taylor's fault. Regardless of whether or not the accident was her fault, Hector fears that Taylor will get jail time since she was driving, under the influence with a suspended license. Phoebe breaks down scared that she will lose her Mom again.
Back in Darla's room, Sally and Clarke come by. Sensing that Sally needs some time alone with Darla, Clarke leaves, after kissing Darla on the forehead. Once he has left, Sally tearfully tells Darla how she thinks of her as a daughter. Sally refuses to accept that Darla won't recover. She orders her to live and begs Darla to give her a smile to let Sally know she is trying. She tells Darla as soon as she is well, they will "resurrect Spectra for one last hurrah." Darla remains unconscious. Beginning to lose hope, Sally remembers happier times with Darla. Thorne walks in and they try to comfort one another.
At the hospital, Hector warned Taylor not to inform the police that she was driving the car which hit Darla. Hector advised Taylor that because she was driving with a suspended license and has a previous DWI, she would undoubtedly be sentenced to prison even though it was foggy and truly an accident when she hit Darla. Lt. Baker of the Los Angeles police department arrived at the hospital to investigate Darla's accident. He could smell alcohol on Taylor's breath. He wanted to question Taylor about the accident, but Hector intervened and managed to convince Lt. Baker that Taylor needed to go home and rest instead.
Back at home, Hector again told Taylor how crucial it is that she not admit to anyone that she was driving the car that hit Darla. Hector pointed out that Lt. Baker had smelled the alcohol on Taylor's breath. Taylor was full of guilt and wanted to tell Thorne what she had done. Phoebe begged Taylor to keep quiet because she did not want her mother to go to prison and lose her mother once again. Hector called a friend who was an automobile repair man and arranged to have Taylor's car fully cleaned and taken care of to get rid of any evidence that she hit Darla. Shortly after, Lt. Baker arrived. He noticed the bottle of wine and commented that it's lucky that Taylor only took a short drive to pick up her daughter. When Lt. Baker asked questions about Darla's accident, Phoebe answered the questions and covered for her mother. Phoebe lied to Lt. Baker and claimed to know nothing about the accident.
Meanwhile at the hospital, Darla died with Thorne at her side. Thorne was distraught. Stephanie was with Thorne to support and comfort him. Sally was outside of Darla's room and distraught because she loved Darla as a daughter.
Taylor has a nightmare of the accident. Hector informs Taylor that Darla has died. Phoebe begs Taylor not to turn herself in, since she would lose Taylor once again. Taylor demands to be held responsible for taking a life. Ridge informs Brooke of Darla's death. Ridge feels awful for Thorne and little Alexandria. Brooke comforts Ridge, suggesting he make amends with Thorne and watch out for Alexandria. Thorne recalls his last moments with Darla to Stephanie. Stephanie tries to take burden off of Thorne. Thorne is alone, cleaning the house when he finds the video camera with footage from Alexandria's birthday party. Taylor interrupts, ready to confess her fault in Darla's death.
Thorne told Taylor that no one can make sense of Darla's death. "It seems," "says Thorne, "that when something like this happens, everyone wants to think that it is their fault."
Brooke is looking at a family picture as the doorbell rings. She opens it to find her younger sister, Donna, standing there. Donna tells her that she is there to wish her sister well and see what she is up to and also to attend Darla's funeral. She tells Brooke that she would like to stick around for the funeral if it is all right with her new hubby. Donna questions what actually happened, since she was always so much in love with Ridge. Nick slips in the door and introduces himself to Donna.
Taylor tells Thorne that she hasn't been herself in a long time, that something just broke, and she used alcohol as a crutch, but Thorne tells her that he won't do the same thing. Taylor grabs at him to tell him something, but his cell phone rings and he has to move away to take the call. At that point Hector slips in to where Taylor is waiting for Thorne to return. He tells her that she can't do what she is thinking about doing. She has to think about the consequences. She tells him that she killed Thorne's wife, a little girl's mother. He tells her that Thorne learning the truth, won't bring Darla back. She also has someone else to think about, Phoebe, who would be devastated if her mother suddenly disappeared from her life again. Thorne comes back in the room, and Hector tells him how sorry he was to hear about Darla. He takes Taylor on home.
Donna sees the "nude" photo layout on the table and tells Brooke that it is simply beautiful. She must love what she is doing, she always had wanted to be a model. She doesn't want to be a model anymore but a businesswoman and besides her husband really doesn't approve of the layout, says Brooke. Donna tells Brooke that she must have married the wrong man because modeling was always something that she loved. "Not anymore," says Brooke who is happy being a business woman and very happy and in love with her husband. Nick and Donna later argue over the pictures of Brooke. Donna thinks they are beautiful while Nick has a problem with the fact that it was his wife on display. Brooke has all ready admitted that what man wants to see his wife on the cover of a magazine? Brooke says that Nick supports her and loves her, he just doesn't like her disrobing in public.
Taylor tells Hector that she is trying to be truthful. Hector agrees that if that is so, then he has to blame himself also for the accident that killed Darla. He tells Taylor that he knew for months that she had been overdrinking and yet he did nothing about it. She steps out on her balcony and Hector follows her out. He tells her that she has to "come back" from this torment and so something. He tells her not to be so tormented over what happened, and that he would stand by her and they would do this together.
Nick overhears Brooke and Donna discuss her job at Forrester. Donna tries to stir the pot between Brooke and Nick. Brooke leaves the two to battle it out. At Forrester, Stephanie confronts Brooke, asking her to resign in exchange to better her relationship to Nick. Brooke refuses to leave the company. Stephanie declares end of truce between them. Eric and Stephanie discuss Thorne's future now that Darla has passed. Dante and Bridget also discuss Thorne. Then, Dante proposes they have a baby. Bridget wants to hold off getting married since Darla just died, but Bridget does want to start a family.
