At Taylor's pool, Phoebe brings Shane his breakfast, but acts awkward around him. He tries to reassure her that she has nothing to worry about and that he won't say anything about the accident. Phoebe is still uneasy and doesn't understand why he pretended to be the gardener to get to know her. He explains that he just wanted to get to know her first and become friends before he told her. Phoebe still doesn't trust him completely and thinks he chose a bizarre way to become friends. After she leaves, Shane fantasizes about the two of them becoming a couple.

In Taylor's house, Hector urges Taylor not to trust Shane. Stephanie drops in to help plan Phoebe's 18th birthday party and isn't happy to see that Hector is still living there. She tells him that he needs to be moving out now that Taylor and Thorne are together. Hector tells Stephanie she needs to be more concerned about Shane messing things up for Taylor and Thorne. He goes on to explain that Shane was the homeless man that scared Phoebe the night that Darla died and that he knows that Taylor killed Darla. Stephanie is concerned and thinks that Shane is after money. Shane overhears her telling them that they have to find a way to neutralize the situation. After Taylor and Hector leave, Shane walks in, introduces himself and asks Stephanie how she plans to neutralize him.

At the hospital, Nick tells Bridget that they have to tell Brooke the truth. Bridget can't help being happy, even though she knows their baby might cost Nick his marriage. Nick refuses to believe this will cause him to lose Brooke. He points out that Brooke hasn't led the most conventional life, and if anyone can accept this situation she can. Bridget thinks Nick is being totally unrealistic, but wishes him the best, before he leaves. Once she's alone, Bridget remembers losing Nicole and promises her baby that it won't face the same fate. Concerned about her mother's reaction, Bridget hopes that Nick will be able to convince Brooke that it's not the end of the world.

At Forrester, Jackie drops in to see Brooke and tells her she can't believe that she and Nick renewed their wedding vows so soon. Brooke explains that they had faced some challenges with Ridge and wanted to make a fresh start. Jackie is happy for Brooke and tells her she's looking forward to being a grandmother. Brooke tells her that she and Nick agreed not to have children. Jackie thinks Brooke should reconsider since having a child has always been Nick's dream. Unconvinced, Brooke tells Jackie raising Hope will help fulfill that need for Nick. Nick overhears Brooke telling Jackie that the last thing she needs in her life right now is another child. He then walks in an interrupts their conversation. He tells his mother that he needs to speak to Brooke alone. After she leaves he prepares to break the news to Brooke. Nick begins by telling her that sometimes bad news could be considered good news if you look at in the right way. As he continues to pretty things up, Brooke grows suspicious and demands to know what he is trying to tell her.

At the hospital, Bridget informed Felicia that the testing shows that she has a healthy pregnancy. Felicia predicted that Brooke will become ballistic when Nick informs her that he is the father of Bridget's baby.

At Forrester Creations, Nick attempted to tell Brooke about Bridget's pregnancy. Instead, Donna abruptly interrupted when she walked in and insisted she needed Brooke's opinion on something. Nick asked Brooke to meet him at the Shady Marlin to finish their discussion. After Nick left, Donna proceeded to ask Brooke which sexy nightgown and outfit she thought that Ridge would like the best. Donna disclosed that she and Ridge hadn't slept together yet, but were becoming close and a relationship was developing.

Shane told Stephanie that he had no plans to go to the police with who killed Darla. Shane disclosed that all he wants is to be friends with the Forrester family. Stephanie warned Shane to stay away from Phoebe. Stephanie enlightened Shane that if he were to inform the police that he knows Taylor killed Darla, he would be charged as an accessory after the fact.

At the Shady Marlin, Nick asked Harry to leave so he could have privacy with Brooke. Nick took Brooke for a ride on the Shady Marlin in order to inform her that he is the father of the child that Bridget is carrying.

At Forrester, Stephanie flips through Donna's latest batch of cheap and tawdry modeling photos and is disgusted by how lewd they are. When Donna walks in and hears Stephanie's reaction to them she makes no apologies and adds that sells have never been better for the bedroom line. Stephanie questions her intentions about Ridge and assures her that she will never be part of the family. Donna thinks Ridge might have something to say about that. Stephanie believes that Donna is trying to take advantage of Ridge's vulnerability and tells her she is the wrong woman for her son. Stephanie maintains that Brooke is the only woman that will ever make Ridge happy. Stung by the truth in her words, Donna tells Stephanie that she should have appreciated Brooke when she had the chance because now that she's with Nick it's too late.

At the hospital, Felicia tries to calm Bridget down about everything. Bridget says she just has to believe that Brooke will forgive her. Felicia asks her what she will do if Brooke can't, or if she can forgive her, but not Nick. Bridget hasn't thought that far ahead. Felicia says that Brooke wouldn't forgive Ridge for far less and she doubts that Nick will fare well. Felicia thinks Brooke will think that Nick is a self righteous hypocrite when she finds out the truth. Felicia believes that Bridget should admit her love for Nick and see this as an opportunity for a new beginning for everyone. She explains that Bridget and Nick will be able to get back together and so will Ridge and Brooke. Bridget says that she doesn't want Nick and she is praying that her mother can accept the situation. Felicia doesn't believe her and thinks she just feels guilty and is trying to do the right thing. While they are talking, Bridget's doctor calls and tells her she needs to talk to her about something concerning the baby, but nothing for her to worry about. Before Felicia leaves she tells Bridget that it is only natural for her to want to raise her child with it's father. When Bridget goes to see her doctor she is disturbed to learn that she could be further along than she thought which would mean that Dante was the father of her child instead of Nick. Upset that Nick may be confessing their indiscretion to her mother for no reason, Bridget demands to take and ultrasound to determine who the real father is.

At the Shady Marlin, Nick blabbers on about how he never meant to fail Brooke and hopes she can find some way to understand what he is going to say, no matter how painful it may be for her to hear. Brooke is confused and wants him to just spit it out. Nick begins by reminding her that he forgave her for sleeping with Ridge the night of the supposed "rape." He also says he forgave her for kissing Ridge on the runway and appearing naked in an ad on their wedding day. Brooke doesn't understand why he is bringing all this up again and he explains that he wants to show her how much stronger they are now and how many obstacle they have been able to overcome. Growing more suspicious, Brooke asks him if he has done something to threaten their marriage. Not answering the question, Nick talks about how he has always felt like he had to share her with Ridge. Nick admits that the night after he found them kissing again, he lost it and had a serious lapse in judgment. He asks Brooke to forgive him and she tells him she hopes all he did was get drunk and go to a strip club. When Nick doesn't respond she begs him to tell her that he didn't have a cheap one-night stand. He admits that he did something far worse. Brooke is shocked and can't believe, that Nick with all of his morals and high standards would let her down in this way. Nick agrees that he screwed up in the worst possible way. Brooke says she knows it was because of Ridge and thinks it's a lame excuse. Drawing it out further, Nick tells her that he slept with a woman and just found out she is pregnant. Brooke is horrified, and says she thought all the scandals were behind her after she married him. She thinks nothing she ever did justified what he has done to her. Adding insult to injury, Nick finally admits that he wasn't with a stranger, but with someone he had previously been involved with. When Brooke realizes that he is talking about Bridget she completely breaks down.

Bridget became very emotional at the thought that Nick could be telling her mother that she and Nick are having a baby. The doctor told her that she would have to remain calm, and not get stressed out as it might be too much for her. The doctor immediately took an ultrasound and determined that the baby was indeed healthy and doing fine. She then told Bridget that she was further along than thought, and that Nick could not be the baby's father. Almost immediately, Bridget tried to reach Nick on his cell phone but had to leave a message instead.

Dante and Felicia spent some time enjoying the evening together, but Dante suddenly realized that she was not being her usual cutting edge self. She finally blurted out that there should be no secrets between the two of them and that Bridget was pregnant. Dante told her that he was sorry but she informed him that the baby was not his, but Nick's. Dante told Felicia that Bridget has always been in love with Nick and never fell out of love with him.

Aboard the Shady Marlin, after listening to Nick spew a lot of the past up to Brooke, she fell apart at the fact that he had betrayed her in a way that she never thought he would. She slapped him hard across the face and would not listen to Nick when he said that he would find a way to make this all better. He tried to tell her that it was wrong and a moment of weakness and that he thought that she had gone back to Ridge. Brooke told him that she felt safe with him, that he would not do to her the same thing that Ridge did. She told him that this was something that she didn't think she could get through or beyond or past because his child was being carried in the "belly" of her daughter. After going up on deck, to get some fresh air, Nick appeared and Brooke was so filled with rage that she tossed him overboard. After calling to her, she tossed him a life preserver and then called the harbor patrol. She said that there was a man in the middle of the bay, overboard, and she wasn't going back. She then hung up and took the boat and returned to the dock, leaving Nick in the water to flounder.
