Brief Character History

Amber arrived in Los Angeles in 1997. After having previously worked with Sheila Carter at a café/restaurant in Death Valley, Amber convinced Sheila to help her apply for the position as babysitter to James Warick's daughter, Mary/Margaret. Amber agreed to secretly allow Sheila visits with "Mary" at the Warwick house. Amber soon sided with James and Maggie, and agreed that Sheila was unstable and obsessed. Sheila left Stephanie Forrester on the verge of death before leaving L.A. as a fugitive on the run. Despite gratitude from family members to Amber for helping save Stephanie's life, it was not enough to change Eric and Brooke's opinion of her.

Amber began working for Brooke Logan as babysitter for Brooke's children, Rick and Bridget. Amber was initially a little amused by Rick's childish crush on her, but soon began to develop feelings for him. When Rick ended up in the hospital after an accident in a drag race with C.J., Amber felt guilty because it was her idea and donated one of her own kidneys to save him. The two got closer, then one night, Amber went out with a high-school chum, Raymond, and woke up knowing only that she had passed out drunk the night before. It was weeks before Raymond told her that after she passed out, they had sex. Since she had slept with Rick around the same time, when she learned she was pregnant, she chose to believe it was Rick's child.

Amber left L.A. and went to see her mother, Tawny, in Death Valley, because she wanted to give birth away from L.A. just in case the child belonged to Raymond, who was black. Unfortunately, there was never any opportunity to test the baby, who was white and stillborn, to learn who the father was, although it has always been assumed it was Rick's. Amber was devastated by the death of her child, but when Tawny learned that Amber's cousin, Becky, had given birth that same night to a child that she did not want, she convinced her heartbroken daughter to take Becky's baby back to Los Angeles as her own. It wasn't long before Amber loved that child as her own. Brooke eventually learned about the night that Raymond and Amber were together, and claimed that Amber's involvement was consensual. Rick agreed to stay with Amber regardless.

Becky visited Amber in Los Angeles and voiced regret over giving up her baby. Amber was uncomfortable with Becky's attachment toward Little Eric, so she helped organize a job for Becky at Forrester International in Paris. Becky found out that Little Eric was the baby she had put up for adoption, but Amber convinced her to keep quiet, and Becky agreed. Kimberly and Rick continued to share unresolved feelings. In an effort to undermine Amber, Kimberly uncovered the truth about Little Eric's true identity. Rick and the rest of the Forresters were horrified that the real Eric Forrester III was dead and buried in the middle of the desert.

C.J. and Becky began dating. Amber discovered that Becky was dying, so everyone kept her illness a secret from her until their wedding day. Becky died peacefully, bringing together the Forrester and Spectra families. C.J. got temporary custody of Little Eric and moved in with Amber. Bringing home Ash, who tried to pick her up while working at Café Russe, Sam, a jealous groupie, set Amber and C.J. up for possession of drugs. C.J. and Amber soon fell in love and planned to marry. Rick stopped their wedding by tracking down Little Eric's biological father, Deacon Sharpe. Rick implored Amber to leave C.J. so he could give her the life she had always dreamed of. Not having completely gotten over Rick, Amber broke C.J.'s heart and went to Rick.

The Spectras and Forresters started a bidding war for Little Eric. Using Little Eric as leverage, Deacon took the child to live with him and Carmen at his apartment above his club, The Lair. Deacon's attraction for Amber soon developed into much deeper feelings of affection. Carmen became suspicious of Deacon's motives of not accepting the million-dollar offer for Little Eric and of Amber's constant visits. Carmen's jealousy intensified one night when she took baby Eric to the rooftop of Deacon's building. Amber confronted Carmen, who hesitantly returned Eric to Deacon. The struggle resulted in Carmen accidentally falling to her death.

Amber asked, and Deacon agreed, to sign papers releasing her from the four-month agreement but allowing visitation to Little Eric. When Amber and Rick's wedding began, Eric stood up and asked the minister to stop and demanded Deacon leave immediately. Eric and Brooke were mortified when Bridget announced that Deacon was her date. Amber and Rick were married.

To get revenge, Deacon eventually married Bridget in a quick Las Vegas ceremony. Deacon tried to make a deal with the Forresters that he would give Bridget back, if Amber and Little Eric were given back to him. The Forresters refused, and Bridget and Deacon stayed married. Deacon continued to flirt with Amber, until Bridget discovered the real reason Deacon married her and got into a car accident. Deacon vowed to stand by his wife, and Amber stayed with Rick. Soon after, Amber became pregnant with her and Rick's second child. There were problems early in the pregnancy, but they faded away. Amber later started designing for Forrester Creations and became a fashion success, but she passed out in pain at her first fashion show. Amber was rushed to the hospital, where she lost the baby due to complications.

Amber could not stand the pain of losing another child and turned to pills to ease the pain. She became addicted to them, and after her doctor refused to prescribe any more of them, she went to a drug dealer named Ziggy. When Amber realized how low she had sunk, she went to her sister in law, Taylor, for help. Taylor got Amber into a rehab center, and Rick supported her the whole time. After she returned home, the Forresters threw a beach party where a guy named Lance drugged Amber and took her back to his place; Sheila Carter had paid Lance to do it.

The next morning, Lance told Amber that she had gotten drunk, but they had only fooled around, not slept together. Amber went home and told Rick that she woke up in bed with a guy and could not remember anything else. Rick was furious to hear what Amber had done, and Amber moved in with Taylor. Amber and Taylor believed that Lance had drugged her, but they could not figure out why. Amber questioned Lance many times, but Sheila had him killed before he could tell her what really happened that night.

It wasn't long before Amber figured out what was going on, and her former friend, Sheila, kidnapped her, determined to install her own daughter as Rick's love interest and Little Eric's mother. In a final battle, Taylor was left dead, and Amber and everyone else grieved for her. Rick and Amber were able to get past what happened and reunite, but Deacon's presence continued to cause problems in their lives, especially when it was proven that Rick and Amber had no legal right to Little Eric. Deacon eventually won custody of Little Eric and began calling him "Little D." Amber kidnapped him and went on the run, which was the final straw for Rick, who walked out on her. After Macy nearly died at Oscar Marone's club, Amber offered to look after Little Eric for Deacon, and knowing how much his son loved her, Macy agreed.

Once Deacon was able to look after his son again, Amber was again out of their lives. Since Rick turned his back on her, she began working on Oscar Marone to get a job with him, but it never went anywhere. When Amber nearly died in a house fire, she temporarily moved in with firefighter Hector Ramirez, his daughter Caitlin, and adopted son, Jimmy, but it wasn't long before she was back on her feet again and living in Taylor's old beach house. Amber tried once again to patch things up with Rick, but he was in love with Caitlin. After Thomas found Caitlin, whom he had been seeing, kissing Rick, he ended up at the beach house, where Amber extended an olive branch of friendship. Once the Forresters turned their backs on Amber and she became homeless, she stopped fighting her attraction to Thomas and they became lovers. She reluctantly left town after Ridge filed a restraining order against her, but returned later when Thorne offered her a job at Spectra. She moved into the Forrester guesthouse and tried to have a genuine relationship with Thomas, but when that crashed and burned, she blamed Ridge.

Desperate to prove that Ridge wasn't such a great guy, in an attempt to get Thomas back, Amber set Ridge and Bridget up to be trapped together in an abandoned mine on a skiing trip to Big Bear. Her plan backfired when the two of them almost died, and Thomas wanted nothing more to do with her. She left Los Angeles for Italy to try to put her life back together, and caught Ridge in what she believed was a delicate position with another woman, but in fact, an amnesiac Ridge had been more or less kidnapped by a mentally unstable Morgan DeWitt. Amber helped Ridge get home, but it didn't improve her standing with the Forrester family. After swearing to Stephanie that she would make herself a better person, Amber supposedly left town.

However, it was revealed on the CBS website L.A. Diaries, that Alison Stewart and Amber worked together as waitresses in a seedy bar in Los Angeles. Ali had just broken up with a scumbag boyfriend with a drug addiction and was broke. The gals hit it off and became roommates in Amber's apartment. Amber was a habitual shoplifter, and would take home wine and chips under her jacket. Amber was into cyber sex, where she would describe her turn-ons to men via instant messaging. One night, she got a brilliant idea: she and Ali should get a webcam and get their own porn site going. Amber's body, but not her face, was frequently seen in front of the webcam. Ali was too shy to join in, but eventually did, and accidentally showed her face. A fan of Ali's started stalking her. After much histrionics, both girls decided they must leave Los Angeles. Ali went to Nevada.

Amber arrived in Genoa City, just in time for the opening of Indigo, the new jazz club owned by Neil Winters. The booked band did not show up due to the murdered body of Carmen Mesta recently being found behind the club, so Amber filled in and impressed everyone with her singing. The club was fully booked, but Neil said he would keep her number and use her as a fill-in when needed. Running into Lauren Fenmore, whom she knew from L.A., Amber wrangled a job as a salesclerk at the Jabot Boutique. Amber spent a lot of time hanging out at Crimson Lights Coffee House, and kept her ear to the ground for a hot man or a good opportunity. Spotting Professor Adrian Korbel, she decided to audit his class and ended up in his bed. It was even better that she got to needle Colleen Carlton, who had a crush on her professor.

Amber got involved in the life of the richest woman in Genoa City, Katherine Chancellor, when she got stuck at the Chancellor mansion after delivering a gown during an ice storm. Katherine began having disturbing nightmares of a baby crying. Through the help of psychic Silvia Brown, whose card-reading turned into a séance with Jill's dead son Phillip, Kay began to remember a ring and a scene where she was handing over a baby. When it finally came back to her, she was forced to reveal to Jill that Kay had switched her son Phillip for another baby shortly after his birth, and had given a woman named Violet an expensive ring to secure the deal. Because of her heavy drinking and shame, Kay had blocked this out all these years.

Jill was torn between being livid with Kay and relieved that her son Phillip was not dead after all. They hired J.T. to try to track down the real Phillip Chancellor III, and Amber Moore also did her own research consulting tarot cards, psychics, and the Internet. Amber found Cane, whose adopted mother was named Violet. He was searching for his mother and arrived in Genoa City from Australia based on her lead. Amber and Cane got cozy, and after she discovered the possible link to the Chancellor millions, she took him to Vegas to get married, supposedly to keep him from being deported back to Australia.

At the last minute, Cane decided against the marriage, so Amber drugged him and got her friend Ali to take his place in disguise, then, the next morning, she told him he was too drunk to remember being married. A DNA test later proved him to be the real Phillip Chancellor III, son of Jill. Phillip's body was exhumed and found not to be Jill's biological son. It remained a mystery who the body really was. Violet, a flight attendant, died in Arizona when Cane was only two weeks old. Her brother, Langley, took the baby home to Australia and raised him as his own, and named him Ethan "Cane" Ashby.

Amber continued to trick her way into Cane's heart and impending fortune. She staged power outages in their apartment and a burglary at the Chancellor Estate, which eventually led Katherine to ask Amber and Cane to move into the Estate. Kay asked Cane to take a position with Chancellor Industries as Property Manager, but he refused, saying that he was not qualified and not wanting a handout. However, he was talked into taking it temporarily until Kay could get a permanent person. Just as people began to trust Cane that his claim was legitimate, viewers overheard a phone conversation between him and his uncle Langley in Australia that inferred that he was conning them.

Amber made friends with Daniel and they spent a lot of time together, helping each other with their various deceptions. Amber showed him the Web site where her online porn clips were featured, Daniel then joined the site and got hooked on Internet porn. Porn was taking over his life, which resulted in bad grades; getting caught looking at porn at work; getting phished, which cleaned out his bank account; being arrested as underage and for solicitation at a strip club; and the erosion of his marriage to Lily due to his continual lying about it all. Lily made him see a therapist, but he was lying about his progress as well. Chats with Neil, Jack, Devon, Phyllis, his therapist, and even Kevin did not seem to be getting through to him, as he continued to deny and lie. Lily tossed him out and Devon punched him out. Lily and Daniel's marriage was annulled due to the fact that they were underage when they married, and had used a falsified letter of consent from Malcolm.

An old boyfriend from Amber's shady past named "Plum" arrived in town and tried to blackmail her with some of her porn tapes. He was staying at Kevin's with Kevin and Daniel until he was found dead of a broken neck in his locked room with a bag filled with money. Although it appeared that he might have fallen from a chair while getting the bag from above, Amber, Daniel and Kevin decided to dump the body and bury the money at the Chancellor estate. Although they swore each other to secrecy and that they would not touch the money, when Amber needed money for a new demo tape for her singing career, she dug up the bag and took some of it, but was seen by an unknown person re-burying the rest. A Treasury agent named Bonachek traced the money to the trio, and someone named Carson, claiming to be an old Army buddy of Plum's, was asking around GC for him.

Cane got suspicious and began looking into Amber's background. Carson was happy to help and exposed Amber's secrets. Then Cane discovered that he and Amber were not legally married. He confronted her and made her sign an acknowledgement that she had tricked him into marriage so that he could make the marriage void. Cane threw her out, and she went to live in Kevin's spare bedroom. Then Amber got kidnapped and locked in a closet. She escaped into Carson's arms, Bonachek arrived, followed by Daniel and the cops. The trio was arrested, but they were told that they would get off with probation if each paid back the stolen money. Phyllis was to cover Daniel's share, and Gloria would repay Kevin and Amber's.

Amber decided to dig up the money again and arranged an elaborate ruse to be able to keep it following Ji Min's death. She rented his former room at the Athletic Club and set fire to smolder some of the money and put shredded bills from the mint in the air shaft to make everyone think it had burned up. Michael got them a deal on the other charges for two years probation and 90 hours of community service. Time passed and Amber began spending more of the stolen money. Daniel and Amber got drunk together one night and ended up turning their friendship into an affair. Things were very uncomfortable between them afterward, plus Amber looked very suspicious spending more of the stolen money to rent Phyllis's luxury penthouse for herself. Daniel helped her move in, and they christened her new apartment by making love. Afterward, he found her satchel containing the money. Amber confessed, and Daniel forgave her. Daniel told Kevin, who made them burn the money, but Daniel videotaped it to prove to Kevin it was done. Amber begged her way into a job as receptionist at Restless Style magazine/webzine, where Daniel was a photographer's assistant.

Due to a mini-stroke, Katherine decided was time to put her house in order. She took a liking to Amber, because she saw a lot of herself in the girl. Katherine hired Amber to assist in writing her memoirs, and also invested in Amber's designer fashion line.

Amber and Daniel officially became boyfriend and girlfriend, and Daniel moved in with her. Just as Daniel and Amber declared their love, and he appeared to be discovering a hidden talent for drawing and caricature, which could possibly lead to a new career, Danny made a surprise visit and asked Daniel to go on the road as tour photographer for six months. Both Amber and Phyllis mourned his departure, but he promised to remain true and return.

Sharon came up with an idea for the webzine, which would feature an animated avatar guide in the form of "Restless Amber," a character based on Amber Moore. Phyllis was skeptical about the idea, the budget, and Amber's flakiness, but Jack and Nick supported the idea. Meanwhile, Amber got a chance to go to Europe to see Daniel, but had to stay to work on creating "Restless Amber." Danny sent Phyllis a photo of Daniel partying on tour with a cute girl on his lap, which Phyllis made sure that Amber saw. Amber, unable to reach Daniel, reacted by getting drunk and having sex with Adrian, who had recently been dumped by Colleen. When Daniel returned, Amber felt so guilty, she had to tell him, and Daniel dumped her. He returned to her place once, because he thought he could forgive her, but after having sex, he decided he could not, which left Amber heartbroken. Phyllis, who never approved of Amber, was thrilled and evicted Amber from her penthouse, but later Daniel made her let Amber stay.

Although Jana was originally planning her wedding to Kevin in "Goth" style with Amber designing her gown, she was influenced by being maid of honor for Sabrina and began dreaming of a more traditional wedding/ The couple ended up with a hippie-style wedding at an ashram in Malibu. All the attendees were in hippie attire, except for Jana, who wore a white lace gown. Amber was the maid of honor and Daniel was Kevin's best man, with Michael as groomsman. Lauren, Gloria, and Jeffrey attended, and Colleen tagged along as Daniel's date. To everyone's shock, the guru officiating turned out to be Michael's long-lost father, Lowell "River" Baldwin. Gloria and Michael gave him a tongue-lashing over his abandoning them before Michael was born, and Lowell retorted with cosmic gibberish about fate and the universe, and asked them not to turn him in to the Feds. Michael gave him hell with tears of hurt in his eyes, but left saying he would not turn his father in. Meanwhile, Amber spotted Daniel and Colleen having sex, and left the ashram. She returned to Genoa City and claimed she met and had sex with a surfer named Liam before she left Los Angeles.

Colleen accompanied Daniel to New York City to attend the gallery showing of his sketches, as Sabrina had arranged before her death. All but one of the sketches were semi-nudes of Amber, plus one of Colleen. Amber showed up with her new lover, Liam, who turned out to be Billy Abbott, Colleen's uncle and someone Daniel had never gotten along with. Much to Daniel's distaste, Billy proceeded to buy all the Amber drawings that had not already sold.

Billy reunited with his mother, Jill, and finally met her other son, his half-brother, Cane. Billy's other half-brother, Jack, convinced him to move back to Genoa City and help get Jabot back into the Abbott family--and to get back at Cane for usurping Billy's life, by going to work at Jabot again. Cane invited Billy and "his girlfriend" over for drinks so Billy could get to know him and his wife, Chloe. Cane was unaware that his ex-wife, Amber, was Billy's girlfriend, and that Chloe had a past with Billy. Billy confronted Chloe the next day and accused her of just wanting to bag a Chancellor. Billy was trying to convince Cane that he didn't mind that Cane took over Jabot, and Cane talked Billy into taking the Director of Marketing position, with emphasis on the new teen line, Starblaze.

On their favorite talk radio show, Daniel and Amber once again confessed their love as "Herve" and "Marina" to host Stryker. Daniel broke off with Colleen, and Amber told Billy he couldn't crash at her place anymore. Amber moved out of Phyllis' penthouse and in with Daniel at his artist studio, which made Phyllis crazy once again.

Not long after Katherine and Amber completed Kay's memoirs and found a publisher, Amber was devastated to hear that Kay had been killed in a car accident. Kay was not really dead, it was her doppelganger, Marge, whom Kay had been driving to rehab. A funeral was held, and several people from Kay's past attended: her son, Brock; her late grandson Phillip's wife, Nina; her stepson and stepdaughter, Danny and Gina; her attorney, Mitchell; and her old friends, Liz Foster, Traci and Ashley, and Dina Mergeron. Daniel sketched a picture of Kay, which was framed on her casket. Meanwhile Marge's friend Murphy found Kay lying beside a creek, assumed it was Marge, and, after she refused to go to a hospital, took her home with him to his trailer. Kay's injuries were slight, but she was confused about who she was, trying to fit into what Murphy told her of Marge the waitress with the drinking problem.

Kay's will was read. Brock received one percent of her billion-dollar-plus worth in trust to continue his good works and was named Chairman of the Chancellor Foundation. Her stepchildren, Gina and Danny, received one-half of one percent in cash. Esther received one tenth of one percent and Kay's half of the estate, so that Esther could live her life in financial freedom. Nikki received all of Katherine's jewelry, including a family heirloom emerald and diamond ring given to Kay by her mother. Grandchildren Cane, Billy, McKenzie, and Phillip received one-quarter of one percent in trust. Katherine left one fifth of one percent to Amber, so that she and Daniel could pursue their artistic goals, and gave Amber the sole rights to her memoirs, which Jill had forbidden her to publish. Jill was left the remainder of the assets, all but five percent of Kay's Jabot stock. That five percent, in addition to a Ming vase, was left to Gloria, as John had given both to her. Jill was livid, knowing that the Chancellors now were no longer majority stockholders.

Amber saw Kevin with a lot of money, and became convinced that Kevin had done something that led to Katherine's death, and never stopped hounding him about it. Katherine's book of memoirs Live Until I Die came out in time for Christmas 2008, and Amber was delighted. Daniel gave her a design studio for Christmas. She gave him a shiny jacket of her own design, and Kevin a copy of Kay's book as a further dig. Amber was thrilled when Lauren saw the jacket in the ad, and asked for some samples to test if they would sell at Fenmore's. While visiting his mother in jail, Kevin met the woman posing as Kay Chancellor. He and Gloria believed her, and Kevin and Jana, joining forces with Amber and Daniel, used Kay's money to bail her out of jail and hired Michael to represent her to prove that she was Katherine. Once Amber realized what Kevin had done, she apologized for thinking he could have been behind Kay's death, and they became fast friends again.

Meanwhile, Gina's ex-husband, Clint, got out of prison and returned to Genoa City, where he plotted to get some of the Chancellor fortune. Clint found out that Katherine was assumed dead, and that Esther inherited one tenth of one percent of Kay's assets and Kay's half of the mansion. But he also heard the rumor that it was Marge who was killed, and Kay was trying to get everyone to believe she was still alive, so he instructed his cohort, Roger Wilkes, to woo Esther and marry her as fast as possible or he might have to do something to keep Kay from "coming back from the dead." Clint kidnapped Kay just before the DNA results were due. Kay told Clint that she remembered kneeing him in the groin after she was freed from the first kidnapping, which temporarily convinced Clint that she was Kay and not Marge.

Surprisingly, the DNA results between Kay and Jill did not match - which meant that Kay and Jill were not mother and daughter after all. Meanwhile, back at the hotel, Kay's captor, Annie, was reading Katherine's book and admiring her. Kay began to convince Annie that she was really Katherine, and that Clint and Roger were using Annie - to which Annie admitted that she was the first Mrs. Roger Wilkes. Roger left the estate, and Esther followed him to the hotel where they were holding Kay. Roger walked in on an untied Kay, who had just convinced Annie to leave with her. Esther walked in and joyfully realized Kay was still alive. The three women were about to leave as Clint arrived, and stopped and threatened them.

Meanwhile, Amber and Kevin realized that the first letter of every sentence of the note "Marge" left when she disappeared spelled out CLINT. Clint met Amber and hoped to convince her that he had witnessed Kay leaving town. As Clint left the bar, Gina spotted him and warned Amber and Kevin that he was her dangerous scammer ex-husband. Kevin and Amber tracked him down to the hotel where he was holding Kay and Esther, but Annie bluffed them into leaving. Kevin returned later, and Clint captured him too. Clint, Annie, and Roger left Kay and Esther in the hotel room with a bomb rigged to go off. They drugged Kevin and framed him for it, then took him along locked in the trunk of the car. Amber and Gloria arrived in time to untie Kay and Esther, the bomb went off, but no one was seriously hurt.

Meanwhile, between Kevin's claustrophobia and the drugs, he began to believe that Clint was his dead father, Terrible Tom, which turned him into a whimpering child. Once Clint realized this, he took advantage of it and coerced Kevin into robbing banks for him in disguise. Thanks to the jolt of the bomb blast, Kay's old memories returned, but she could not recall Murphy or her time trying to be Marge. Kay moved into the Athletic Club and her memories managed to convince Nikki that she really was Kay. Together they connived to get a bit of Jill's hair for another DNA test to prove it to everyone.

Amber found Kevin in Minnesota after a bank robbery in which he'd gotten a bullet wound in the leg. He took her back to his hotel and threw her in the closet with dead Clint. Michael and Daniel tracked them there, but they had already left. Amber tried to convince Kevin that Clint was not his father Tom, and that both were dead and could no longer hurt him, but Kevin in his delusional state, forced her to help him rob another bank. Meanwhile Jana was having raging headaches ever since Kevin was shot. Jeffrey located Amber and Kevin hiding in a railroad car, but Michael got there in time to talk Kevin into taking out his rage on Jeffrey, and surrendering with him. Michael convinced the judge to have Kevin committed for his own good, while Kay and Daniel tried to convince him that Amber was an unwilling accomplice.

Kevin became near-catatonic and delusional in a padded cell, and wouldn't even let Gloria near him. Though still non-responsive, he was okay with Mackenzie, Jana, and Michael's visits. But Amber was the one to finally have some effect on Kevin. Jeffrey visited him, realized that Kevin was haunted by demons, and encouraged him to fight back, that he was not a bad boy. Kevin had a major delusion that he was put in an ambulance in a straitjacket, and the chipmunk taunted him into jumping out of the back while it was moving. They escaped into the woods, where Kevin and the chipmunk had it out with Jeffrey's words to fight back echoing in his head. Kevin did, and came out of it to hear Daniel pleading with him. Meanwhile, Gloria confessed to getting Kevin to go back to being bad by helping her trick Kay, and Kay banished Gloria for her greed. Roger and Annie were captured in Canada. After their statements about Clint's torturing Kevin and that the gun that Amber had hidden was filled with blanks, Kevin was let out on bail in time to attend Kay Chancellor's marriage to Murphy.

Kay invited the governor to dinner to request amnesty for Kevin and Amber, but Jill told him that would ruin his career, and when Kevin and Amber showed up, she maligned them and Katherine in front of him. Jill came onto the governor, took him into another room, and he emerged very happy with Jill gloating that she had changed his mind. While Kay and Jill were sparing, Murphy convinced the governor to grant the amnesty with the gift of his military rifle from one Korean War veteran to another.

Nina Webster decided to stick around for a while after attending Kay and Murphy's wedding to write a screenplay of Katherine's book Live Until I Die, and planned to collaborate with Amber. Nina felt the movie should focus on Kay's evil deeds, like the feud with Jill and the baby switch, but Amber felt it should focus on her goodness. Kay felt that if Nina thought it was important to the script, to put it in.

Meanwhile Daniel held a showing of his artwork, and sold all his sketches with price negotiated by Jana, to a man named Howard. Amber and Daniel, along with Kevin and Jana celebrated their freedom and the sale as the buyer peered in the window. The buyer returned the next day and claimed to be Federal Agent Howard Aucker. Due to his similar style, Aucker said they wanted Daniel to forge a painting to trap some art thieves. If he agreed, Daniel could keep the money for the sketches, but could not tell anyone. But art expert Jana spotted the painting Aucker gave him to forge, and recognized it. Daniel lied and said that he had "artist's block," and was practicing by copying another artist's work, then later had to tell her the truth.

Daniel failed to finish in time, their loft was ransacked and the painting stolen, and when he contacted the real Agent Aucker, it turned out the first guy was a fake. "Thomas Balfour" approached Victoria to buy a painting for the Newman collection, but she recognized it as stolen art. Victoria called Jana over to verify, and Jana was shocked to discover it was Daniel's forgery, and "Balfour" was the fake FBI man. Victoria made a deal to meet him with the cash and he left, then she notified the real Agent Aucker. Much to J.T.'s dismay, Aucker put a wire on Victoria and supplied the cash for the exchange, but Daniel showed up before her, and "Balfour" pulled a gun on him. Someone in a ski mask attacked "Balfour" from behind and left him shot. When Daniel asked the man shot him, the guy said that it was Daniel and died, so Daniel fled.

When Victoria arrived, the masked person knocked crates down on top of her and took off with the briefcase of money. Daniel became the chief suspect because his prints were on the gun after he threw it out of the victim's grasp, and both the forged painting and the $100,000 were gone. The masked person was last seen planting the briefcase in the office of the coffeehouse, which of course the Feds found, and Daniel was arrested. Phyllis made his bail, but Jana, as his "accomplice," was originally denied bail due to her criminal record; however, Michael got her out. Kevin managed to steal the dead man's cell phone from the evidence after their bail hearing, and Daniel and Amber were intent on using it to find the real killer to clear them both.

Four years after he left Los Angeles, Deacon showed up in Genoa City abd claiming to be an art entrepreneur, when actually he was behind the manipulation of Daniel to forge the painting supposedly to help the FBI. When that failed to get Daniel jailed and free Amber for him, Deacon arranged for the painting to be found by the FBI behind the plaster wall of Daniel's loft apartment. Deacon then propositioned Amber that he would turn over a video exonerating Daniel if she would have sex with him, so she did. Deacon made sure Daniel was on the line and left the phone off the hook so he could overhear. When Amber went to see Daniel in jail, he went off on her and refused to believe her explanations. But when the DVD and Michael convinced Assistant District Attorney Heather to let him out on bail again, he began having second thoughts. The charges were not dropped, and Daniel became a suspect in the death of "Balfour."

Jana discovered Deacon had possession of both Daniel's forgery and the original painting. Amber could not be talked out of trying to get the goods on Deacon, and took him up on his proposition to marry him to protect Daniel. Ryder, who worked for Deacon, confessed to Kevin that he killed Balfour whose real name was Ray Elkins. He said his dead father, who knew Elkins in prison, locked him in a cellar when he was a kid, and Elkins treated him the same way, too, so he killed him. Kevin didn't believe the coincidence when Ryder claimed his dad was Tom Callahan, an alias Kevin's father, Terrible Tom, had used, but had a DNA test done, which confirmed that he was.

Deacon visited Ryder in jail, and confirmed that Deacon had made him confess to the murder. Daniel got Ryder to confess the plan then stopped the wedding of Deacon and Amber. He made a deal to use the key to Tom's safe deposit box in Detroit to retrieve the original of the painting Daniel forged for Deacon. Because his flight was not until the next day, Daniel and Amber made love all night, then he proposed, calling her his true soul mate. Because the bank refused Daniel admittance to the box, he returned with Amber posing as Tom's bereaved widow, Gloria.

Just after they got into the box and retrieved the painting, Gloria showed up. They convinced her to play along, and got the painting back to Genoa City, where they bickered about what to do with it since Deacon had promised Gloria five million to get it for him. Jana felt it should be returned to the museum, and Daniel needed it to give to Deacon for his and Amber's freedom. Kevin hid the Terroni painting at Crimson Lights, but Gloria found it and took it to Deacon. Daniel tricked her, got it back, and returned it to the museum. He received a $25,000 reward, but gave it to Kevin to bail out Ryder. Kevin insisted Ryder move in with him and Jana while and gave Ryder a new start working at the coffeeshop.

Amber began planning her wedding, but when Paul came up with an airtight alibi for Ryder, who was photographed at a red light in Chicago at the time of Elkin's murder, Daniel called it off. He was sure he'd end up in prison for the murder, and didn't want to leave Amber alone. But he had a change of heart by her reaction and decided to get married immediately instead. Jana was hesitant because it was Friday the thirteenth, but a beautiful impromptu wedding was quickly put together and held on the roof of their apartment building. Daniel got Kay a quick online minister ordination, and she officiated. Lauren came through with a last-minute gown for the bride, Kevin and Jana stood up for them, and Murphy gave the bride away. When Phyllis found out, she crashed the wedding and was intent on stopping it, but Lauren kept her in check as Amber vowed to always respect Daniel and put him first.

Daniel was arrested and jailed again, but Phyllis led a search of the landfill where all their friends showed up to help, and found the satchel that the killer tossed as he ran away. DNA evidence on the ski mask inside proved that the killer was a female, and Daniel was released. Unknown to everyone else, Deacon, Ryder, and his twin sister, Daisy, discussed their plot against Daniel, which was masterminded by an unknown woman. Their next target was Lauren, who started getting visits by dead and live rats. Before Deacon was arrested and sent to prison for kidnapping and accessory to murder of Ray Elkins, Amber got him to disclose that his son "Little D," a.k.a. "Little Eric," was living with Amber's mother, Tawny in Furnace Creek. When she was unable to contact Tawny, Amber prepared to go get "Little Eric", but Daniel objected saying he was not ready for children. Sarah was about to murder Phyllis, so she sent Daisy to stop Daniel from going to see his mother. Meanwhile at Crimson Lights, Amber was shocked when Eric suddenly showed up appearing to be about 10 years old, telling that Tawny had left him alone for days, so he had made it clear across country to find Amber. Amber took Eric home, and they walked in on Daisy in bed with a drugged Daniel. Later when it was explained that Sarah was Sheila Carter’s sister who had coerced Deacon into plotting to kill Elkins and frame Daniel as revenge on Phyllis for killing Sheila, Amber forgave Daniel. But after Tawny called with plans to come and get Eric, and knowing that Daisy and Ryder were still on the loose and might harm him, Amber decided to take Eric to California and disappear. She begged Daniel to leave with them, but knowing they may never return, he declined. After one last declaration of their love on the air as “Herve” and “Marina” to their favorite radio DJ, “Stryker”, Amber left town with Eric. Kevin told Daniel he was a fool, that he should sacrifice for the one you love, and he didn’t even try to get to know Eric. Daniel just reiterated that he was not ready for kids. A couple weeks later, they split up officially by phone, each wishing the other a good life. The divorce papers arrived and Daniel commiserated with his mother about what a loser at love he was.

By July, Amber had made it back to L.A. and was hired as a designer by the successor to Spectra, Jackie M Boutiques, on the recommendation of Whip Jones, who had worked with Amber years ago at Forrester.

Marcus Forrester shared a "friends with benefits" relationship with Amber, but he was instantly smitten when he met Dayzee. Dayzee and Marcus dated and shared a few kisses, but she was hesitant to embark on a full-fledged romance while he was based in the Paris office. Marcus was relieved when Amber claimed Liam was the father of her unborn child, but when she gave birth to an African-American baby girl, it was apparent that Marcus was the dad. Marcus became a doting father to baby Rosie. Despite Amber's pressure to move in together as a family, Marcus was adamant that they were not a couple and that they'd share responsibility for their daughter. He moved back to L.A. permanently, and he and Dayzee consummated their relationship.
