Days of our Lives' Salem hasn't felt the same since Jen Lilley left the role of Theresa Donovan last year, and while it seems Brady Black has moved on without his former lover, portrayer Eric Martsolf isn't in the same boat.
The actor recently gave an interview in which he declared that it would be really tough for him to imagine the powers that be recasting Lilley's role.
"She's so special and so different," he told Soap Hub. "I couldn't see anybody else in that role, but I know that cast changes sometimes have to occur. I've spent my whole career replacing characters, so I understand that process and know how it works. But no, I'd love to see Jen come back."
With Arianne Zucker's Nicole about to leave the canvas, Brady will likely be left with a broken heart. And some viewers think a newly returned Theresa would be the perfect person to pick up the shattered pieces. But would Lilley be keen on reprising the love-to-hate character, even though she chose to leave the soap world to pursue other projects?
When the actress got wind of Martsolf's request for her to reprise the role of Theresa, she took to Twitter with quite a surprising answer.
"When the love of your TV life pleads for you to return to the show," she wrote. "Oh @EricMartsolf, I would come back for you."
Whether or not the powers that be pay attention to this oh-so-intriguing communication between Thrady's alter egos remains to be seen, but a few likes, retweets, and comments of their exchange certainly wouldn't hurt!
