Days of our Lives has hired Emmy-nominated Stacy Haiduk to take over at least one of Eileen Davidson's roles. Haiduk is already taping scenes, which would seemingly make it difficult for Davidson to return to DAYS now that she's exiting The Young and the Restless.

While The Young and the Restless fans are mourning Eileen Davidson's (Ashley Abbott; DAYS' Kristen DiMera, Susan Banks, Thomas Banks, Penelope Banks, and Mary Moira) departure, it looks like Days of our Lives fans won't be getting a chance to cheer the Emmy winner's return.

A show source tells Soap Central that the NBC soap has hired Emmy-nominated The Young and the Restless and All My Children star Stacy Haiduk to take over at least one of Davidson's former roles.

Daytime Confidential first reported on Haiduk's hiring and quoted a show insider as saying that "Stacy is killing it on DAYS."

Davidson joined Days of our Lives as Kristen Blake DiMera in 1993. A few years later, she added an additional four look-alike roles. Her work earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination in 1998. In 2014, Davidson won her first Daytime Emmy for her work on DAYS. Earlier this year, Davidson received another Emmy, this time for her work on CBS's The Young and the Restless.

Though initially unconfirmed by either the actress or CBS at the time this article was posted, Davidson later took to Twitter to confirm that she will be leaving Y&R in order to spend more time with her family. A year ago, Davidson left her role on Bravo's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in order to have more family time.

Haiduk, meanwhile, has found success playing characters with mental health issues on both AMC and Y&R. In 2017, Haiduk's work on Y&R landed her an Outstanding Supporting Actress nomination.

A Days of our Lives spokesperson did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
