A deleted photo and several on-screen mentions of Philip Kiriakis have Days of our Lives fans believing that Jay Kenneth Johnson is reprising his role as Kate Roberts' son.

A recent photo posted then later deleted by Days of our Lives star Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) has tongues wagging, as it seems to show that Jay Kenneth Johnson is returning to the role of Philip Kiriakis.

Koslow took to Instagram with a photo of herself posing with Johnson, who played the role of Kate and Victor's (John Aniston) son, Philip, from 1999 to 2002 and again from 2007 to 2011. The picture immediately had fans buzzing about whether or not it means the actor is returning to Salem -- which isn't a completely off-base assumption, considering there have been many on-screen mentions of Philip lately.

As DAYS fans know, Philip was a part of the teen scene of Salem back when characters like Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin), Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer), and Belle Brady (Martha Madison) were in high school. Could a major reunion be in the works for the former schoolmates once DAYS' time jump storyline comes into play? There's no word yet about a possible return by Bjorlin (though she did say that her last appearance wasn't a final goodbye), but Beemer and Madison are said to be returning to the NBC soap opera in early 2020.

The last actor to play the role of Philip was One Life to Live alum John-Paul Lavoisier (ex-Rex Balsom), who stepped into the shoes of the character from 2015 to 2016. Kyle Brandt also briefly played the character from 2003 to 2006.

In addition to his DAYS role, Johnson is known for playing Dr. Matthews on Scrubs and Chris Remsen on North Shore. His most recent credit is voicing the character of Dag the Dragon on Wonder Pets!.

What do you think about Jay Kenneth Johnson possibly making a return to DAYS as Philip Kiriakis? If the character returned, what kind of storyline would you like to see for Victor and Kate's son?
