General Hospital Daily YAPP Recap, December 1: What was the point of Ned's heart attack?

Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on General Hospital

It's a Thanksgiving miracle! The Qs turkey wasn't destroyed, and Ned is home from the hospital, looking good as new in record time after bypass surgery. When Tracy finally gets home, nobody has to even tell her what happened. Some things are not worth stressing out about when all's well that ends well, right? However, we are not actually sure why Ned had a heart attack. Was it really so Rocco could grab Brit's key fob, break into the lab, get arrested, have Laura assault Dalton at the polls, and for Dalton to turn up dead in Laura's trunk? Was that really the reason Port Charles' last mayor just had major surgery — to launch a new plot for Port Charles' current mayor? If so, poor Ned. He didn't deserve to become the sacrificial lamb just so an entire other story could reach another chapter. Now, if Ned decides to find a way for Drew to have some criminal liability for walking away from a man having a heart attack, we'll take it. Or he can at least sue Drew, right? Ned did remember Drew just leaving him there to die, so if Ned's heart attack can result in some heartache for Drew, it will all be worth it? Otherwise, it's nothing but a silly plot point that didn't really result in much when there were any other number of ways those meddling kids could have broken into the lab.
