Vultaggio, ABC agree to part ways

After just about two years with General Hospital,
Lisa Vultaggio (
Hannah Scott) is leaving the show.
According to an ABC spokesperson, Vultaggio has been released from her contract. The spokesperson quickly clarified that "It was a mutual decision between [Vultaggio] and ABC."
Vultaggio first joined General Hospital in 1999. Some fans grumbled about the decision to cast Vultaggio because of a similarity between the actress and Vanessa Marcil (ex Brenda). The actress quickly distinguished herself through her on-screen work and the writers helped avoid any confusion by steering Hannah aware from Brenda's ex-lover, Sonny.
There are no plans to recast the role of Hannah. Vultaggio's final airdate is March 23rd.
