GH's Matt Cohen shares how he almost ended up on a CBS soap

General Hospital's newest cast member Matt Cohen (Griffin Munro) reveals that he was thisclose to ending up on The Bold and the Beautiful or The Young and the Restless instead of in Port Charles.

General Hospital fans have been digging Port Charles's new doctor Griffin Munro, and it turns out they're quite lucky to have him. Portrayer Matt Cohen reveals that he almost ended up on a CBS soap, instead.

"I tested for Bold and Beautiful and Young and Restless about a year ago. They ended up not going forward with one of the roles, and the other role went to somebody who was already established in the soap world," he shares in the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest. "It obviously worked out how it was supposed to, because I feel like GH is the best place for me."

Cohen, who debuted on GH earlier this year, may not have landed B&B or Y&R, but he still has quite a few credits to his name. Prior to nabbing his Port Charles role, he made appearances on shows likeSupernatural, How To Get Away With Murder, Cowgirl Up, 90210, and South of Nowhere.

Could you see Cohen starring on B&B or Y&R? Which characters do you think he auditioned for? Share your thoughts in the Comments section below, on our message boards, or by submitting Feedback.
