Vanessa Marcil to appear in Hallmark movie

Emmy-winning General Hospital favorite Vanessa Marcil returns to television in a new made-for-television film on the Hallmark Channel.

Emmy winner Vanessa Marcil (Brenda Barrett) is returning to television -- unfortunately for daytime fans, it won't be a return to General Hospital. The actress headlines the new made-for-television film The Convenient Groom on the Hallmark Channel.

Marcil plays Dr. Kate Lawrence, a celebrity relationship expert whose picture-perfect trip down the aisle is derailed when she's left high and dry at the altar. In an effort to keep her public image intact, Kate recruits her childhood friend to pretend to be her fiancé.

As fans may recall, the last time Brenda was in Port Charles was for the show's 50th anniversary in 2013. Marcil originated the role of Brenda in 1992. In addition to her work on GH, Marcil is known for her roles on several other television shows, including Queens of Drama, Without a Trace, Lipstick Jungle, Las Vegas, and Beverly Hills, 90210.

The Convenient Groom airs Saturday, June 18, at 9/8c on the Hallmark Channel.

UPDATE
If you missed the premiere of The Convenient Groom, you can catch it again on Sunday, June 19 at 3pm ET; Saturday, June 25 at 7pm ET; and Sunday, June 26 at 11am ET. Check your local listings to verify the time and channel in your area.
