Got something to say about GH star Kimberly McCullough's weight? So does she

General Hospital's Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio) responds to fan comments about her weight.

General Hospital star Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio) has faced criticism about her weight for most of her life, but her current return to the ABC soap has fan comments about her body piling up on social media sites. Instead of keeping mum as usual, the actress decided to respond this time around.

"FYI, I'm not offended by convos about my weight," McCullough tweeted. "So, I'm a little chubby. In my 20's I was ‘too thin.' It is what it is, people..."

Almost immediately after posting the message, McCullough's costars came to her defense.

"You're beautiful," wrote Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos). "You're a talented actress and director and you were great on GH by the way."

Nicolas Bechtel (Spencer Cassadine) chimed in, writing, "Ummmmmmm I've seen your jeans on the ‘WRAP' rack and they're TINY so people.... PLEASE!!!!"

Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda Barrett) also commented on her former costar's post. She wrote, "You are perfect as per usual, my beautiful little sis. We will always be too something to people who aren't brave enough to be 'in the arena.'"

And Haley Pullos (Molly Lansing) wrote, "All bodies are good bodies."

Unfortunately, McCullough isn't the only soap star who's had to deal with negative fan posts. Just last month, The Bold and the Beautiful's Emmy-winning star Heather Tom (Katie Logan) took to Twitter to let fans know their hateful comments really "hurt." For more on that story, click here.

What do you think about the way McCullough handled all the comments about her weight? Have you ever been taunted on social media over your appearance? We want to hear from you -- so drop your comments in the Comments section below, tweet about it on Twitter, share it on Facebook, or chat about it on our Message Boards.
