Tilford, Platt's lights dimmed

A spokesperson for Procter & Gamble Productions has confirmed to Soap Central that Terrell Tilford (David) and Victoria G. Platt (Vicky) are no longer a part of Guiding Light.

The official confirmation comes less than two weeks after Soap Central reported on rumors that Tilford was contemplating a leave from the CBS soap. It also comes several months after Internet rumors hinted that both Platt and Tilford were goners.

There had been some speculation that new head writer Lloyd "Lucky" Gold might opt to re-infuse the two characters into the show's storylines and buck a decision made during Claire Labine's tenure to not use the characters. This bring to five the total number of performers dumped since Gold joined Guiding Light earlier this year; The others are Mark Dobies (Noah), Paula Garces (Pilar) and Ryan Brown (Billy).

Tiford, who joined Guiding Light in 1998, and Platt, who hopped on board in October 1998, are engaged in real-life.

Tilford's final on-air appearance was August 13th.
