Stewart Signs On For More GL

Paul Anthony Stewart (
Danny Santos) will be remaining with Guiding Light for the foreseeable future. The actor recently signed a new contract with the CBS soap.
Talks between Stewart and show execs went down to the wire, though an insider tells Soap Opera Central that there was never really any question that the fan favorite actor would continue on with the show.
"I love my character and I'm happy to be continuing with the show," Stewart said in a statement. "I'm glad [things] worked out."
Stewart originated the role of Danny Santos five years ago this week - November 11th, 1998. His work paid off with an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor at this year's Daytime Emmys.
A spokesperson for Guiding Light declined to comment on Stewart's status with the show, noting that it is not network policy to discuss contracts and contract negotiations.
