Driving Miss Tory:
Blake slams on the brake pedal but nothing happens as she struggles to
regain control of the swerving car. It finally comes to a stop. She
exhales gratefully. "The brakes DO work." She catches her breath, and
speaks as if talking to Tory, "For a minute there, I thought you were trying
to kill me."
Sitting Ducks:
On the phone, Ross again questions his secretary about the nameless woman
who called his office. He gets nothing other than she sounded anxious to
reach him, so his secretary told her that the Marlers had gone to the Bauer
cabin. Michelle overhears his conversation, and when he hangs up, she asks
if something is wrong. He admits Tory's been "harassing" them lately. Now,
he thinks she may have been the one who called his office. Michelle
suggests Ross talk to Frank. Ross says he has, but the police can do
nothing until Tory actually commits a crime. She is troubled blames himself
for mistreating her. Michelle tries to put him at ease, saying Tory should
seek help. Responding to the baby monitor, Michelle heads upstairs to check
on Robbie. Blake returns in a huff, saying that there is nothing wrong
with her mother - Tory was the one who called, pretending to be Holly's
assistant. Not only that, but she was in the back seat of her car! Ross
doesn't understand because he told Tory to get out of town. Blake can't
believe he talked to Tory alone, after all she's put them through. More
importantly, he should have told her about it. Ross explains that he was
desperate - he thought that talking to her directly would make her
understand how serious things have gotten, and she'd realize leaving town is
for the best. Blake disagrees. Tory obviously didn't get the message, and
now she's making up phony emergencies in order to get Blake alone. Ross
justifies Tory's behavior by saying that maybe she honestly thought that
tricking Blake was the only way to get her to listen, so that she could say
"You've won," and goodbye. Blake is subdued for the moment, "That's just
what she said." Ross seems doubly assured when she says Tory asked to be
dropped off at the train station. However, Blake isn't convinced Tory is
gone for good. Ross says she has no reason to stay in Springfield - he made
it very clear that he loves Blake, and he saw how defeated Tory looked when
he told her he'd never leave his wife for her. It's done, "It's over," Ross
insists. Blake hugs him, with arms full of uncertainty.
Later that evening, Blake comments on the cabin is with so many kids
upstairs. Ross says the kids are all asleep. Blake says, yes, but the
twins must be awake - they weren't in their room. Ross insists he put them
to bed before Blake returned. "You don't know where they are?," Blake asks,
worried. Ross suggests maybe they got dressed and went sledding. Blake
goes outside, panicking, "What if Tory lied?. What if she took our boys
again?!" The couple search the cabin frantically for Jason and Kevin.
Blake goes to the closet for her coat so she can search outside for
footprints. Suddenly, the boys burst out of the closet, screaming and
smiling, having successfully scared her. Almost in tears, Blake tells the
boys never to "scare mommy like that again." Ross says they were only
playing, and the boys apologize. Blake forgives them and sends them to bed.
Once they leave the room, Blake breaks into sobs, "Maybe we should put bells
on them or honing devices." Ross holds her comfortingly, saying it's ok,
"Tory's gone." Outside the cabin window, Tory lurks in the shadows,
watching.
Downhill:
Out on the snow-covered hill, Harley arrives just in time to break up a now
classic Aitoro-Santos argument. Danny is not happy Gus being there. He
leaves after telling Harley she can hang out with whomever she likes - just
don't bring him around. Gus hollers after him, "That's right, run away -
classic Danny Santos." Harley cringes and asks why he has to start trouble
with Danny. She doubts they can have a relationship at all. Gus
apologizes, knowing he reneged on his promise to be "on his best behavior."
He sincerely tells Harley that he doesn't have a lot of important people in
his life, but he is loyal to the ones he has. He promises to be nice to
Danny while at the cabin. Harley asks what will happen back in Springfield.
He doesn't make any promises. Harley is visibly frustrated. Gus screams,
"What do you want? A Miracle?!" She isn't amused, "Well it would take one
to open up your eyes." She admits she doesn't see a future for them if Gus
is unwilling to drop his vendetta against Danny. "Everybody has a reason to
hate. the hard part is getting past it." She reminds him that her mother
was murdered, just like his father was. She tells him not to let revenge
consume him. "I put the past behind me. Why can't you?" Gus is adamant,
"I can't!" He sees Danny "with his kid and his wife, and it makes him sick
to see him getting away with it." "With living a normal life?," Harley
asks. "Why does HE get to have a normal life?!!," Gus screams. Harley
sighs, "There are so many things that are terrific about you. I wish that
other people could see that stuff." She warns him that the thing you hate
can become who you are and eventually there is no room for growth or even
love. She knows from experience - when Phillip slept with Beth, hating them
became her obsession. She needed to get past it in order to live again and
to "open myself to new people." Harley says Gus obviously cares more about
putting Danny in jail than he does about her. She loves his passion, but
needs someone who's passionate for her, not for revenge. She leaves him
alone to think about that.
He catches up with her and says he feels like he's bared his heart and soul
to her but she doesn't understand. She says maybe she understands more than
he wants to admit. He gives her a wildflower he found growing in the snow -
a "mini miracle. "You've just got to hang in there with me. even if I'm not
smelling like a rose right now." Harley is choked up, "This is the stuff
that makes all that other stuff so hard to take." He promises he can
change. "I need you. so I know that I can make it work out." He promises
not to burden her with the "Santos stuff," implying he still plans to keep
his vendetta alive. She feels like she's not enough to make him forget his
obsession. Harley resists, "I can't do it anymore! I can't be around
that." She admits it will be hard to ignore her feelings for him, "but it's
even harder knowing what a lifetime of hatred is going to do to you. 'cause
I sure know what witnessing it will do to me," releasing the flower, "and I
don't think that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make." She hurries off toward
the cabin. Gus picks up the flower and smells it. He closes his eyes with
regret.
The Road To Recovery:
Danny returns to the cabin from his failed sledding expedition and tells
Michelle he had words with Gus. She suggests he think positively. Danny
agrees, "Aitoro is not important. If Harley wants to get involved with that
lunatic and destroy her life," that's her decision. They agree to take
Robbie home and spend some time alone.
Getting Out of Dodge:
Naomi greets Lorelei and Edmund as they enter Company. She finds it
exciting that the couple have plans to leave town with destination unknown.
"Goodbye Springfield,. goodbye Spauldings, goodbye Beth," etc. Lorelei
looks uncertain. Naomi reassures Lorelei that she'll forget about
Springfield as soon as she leaves. Edmund picks up on her doubtful
expression and asks if she's having second thoughts. Lorelei wonders how
she will say goodbye to Lizzie and James - she loves them like her own
children. Edmund is stern, "You just DO it." Lorelei snaps out of it and
agrees, "I'm not going to listen to that part of myself anymore." Edmund
eyes her suspiciously, "You scared me for a minute there. You had a look in
your eye." Naomi asks what they'll do for money. Lorelei smiles and says
"Eddie Ivories" will pay their way. Edmund starts to refuse, but Lorelei
leans in and says that she loves it when he sings to her - "it was so
sweet." The seduction works, he's convinced. She holds his hands across
the table and confesses she's lucky to be hitting the road with someone as
special as him. A nosy Carmen interrupts Lorelei's swooning with a curt
smile, "Well, I guess there's nothing left to say but hasta la vista."
Carmen asks Naomi to leave them alone. She inquires about their mystery
trip. She pretends to be sad at the prospect of never again reminiscing
over "old times" with her former partner, the prince. She would have loved
to have chatted at Infierno the other night, "but you left so fast." Edmund
and Lorelei blame Carmen's reputation and her "old times" for the police
raid. Edmund is surprised Carmen isn't in prison for illegal gambling. She
denies it - after all, they were playing with chips, and the police never
found a dime in the club. Lorelei brags that she would have cleaned Carmen
out had she gotten the chance to play cards. She and Edmund are a team, and
they're in love. Carmen holds back a laugh as she tells Lorelei that Edmund
was the one who taught her how temporary love can be. Lorelei is defensive,
saying that's all in the past and right now she and Edmund are leaving town.
Carmen smirks, "Edmund Winslow, slinking out of town with his tail between
his legs - my, how the mighty have fallen." Knowing they're broke, Carmen
ribs them about flying economy instead of first class, "I've never known you
to settle for second best, Edmund." She leaves a poker chip on the table
before leaving. Lorelei tries to reassure her partner, "We've got a solid
gold future ahead of us, Eddie." Edmund says at this point he'd "settle for
silver." He stops a moment and realizes the significance of what he just
said. He says there is a fortune waiting for them out west - with Beth's
silver mine. They'll be so rich, they'll never have to return to
Springfield again. Edmund explains the plan to Naomi, saying he hasn't even
thought about Bradley's silver mine in months. Lorelei crosses her arms and
frowns - Phillip told her Edmund "chased Beth all over Mexico in order to
get her to sign it over to you." Edmund insists he burned the deed, but
it's still in Beth's name. Naomi follows his train of thought, "You can
fool those folks in Colorado that you're Beth just like you did here!"
Lorelei jumps on board, enthusiastically. She starts counting the cash in
her purse, saying if they can afford a cheap flight, "it's so long
Springfield!!" Suddenly, Lorelei sits back, subdued, "Of course, we might
wanna think about that a little bit." Edmund eyes her and insists, "No,
there's no other choice, Lorelei." She snaps out of it and they get up to
leave for the airport. Naomi stops them to confess that she paid Phillip a
visit the other night and he was asking a lot of questions about Lorelei's
past. They make her promise not to tell Phillip where they're going, no
matter how persuasive he is. Lorelei stops at the door and takes an
uncertain look around Company before Edmund ushers her out.
Will the Real Beth Raines Please Stand Up:
An officer sits with Rick and Phillip as they study Lorelei's fingerprints.
The officer explains that the fingerprints match that of the woman arrested
for the murder of Carl Stevens - "Beth Raines." Phillip is ecstatic,
hugging Rick and ranting about all the questions he has for Beth. He can't
wait to tell Lillian and Lizzie, who was right all along - Beth is alive!
He finally understands why he had that feeling he couldn't shake - he had to
find Lorelei because he knew in his heart that she was really Beth. He
calls Towers only to find out that Lorelei isn't there anymore. He vows to
find her before she leaves town, "or this time, she could be gone for good."
Rick is quick to remind his friend that Beth is sick and needs help. She
must have suffered a great physical and emotional trauma in Mexico, "and we
only have Edmund's word on what happened." Phillip doesn't care, he only
wants to find Beth. Suddenly, he remembers Lorelei's stomach for Buzz's
food. The two start to leave for Company, but Rick gets a page from the
hospital. In a rush, Phillip says it's ok, he'll go alone.
Phillip arrives at Company and asks Buzz if he's "seen Beth-- I mean
Lorelei." Buzz says she and Edmund left with suitcases, but they had been
sitting with Naomi. Phillip rushes to her table and asks, "Where are they?!"
She is hesitant. He explains that Lorelei is sick and she, "isn't herself."
He only wants to help her. Naomi is conflicted, but confesses that Edmund
and Lorelei have gone, "out of town." Phillip is persistent; he must find
them before it's too late. A nervous Naomi says "they took a bus," but
she's not sure where. Phillip leaves, and once outside, says to himself,
"Ok, honey, you say bus - I got a 50/50 chance it's either the train station
or the airport." He hurries away.
Looking For Love In All the Wrong Places:
At the airport, Lorelei is asked for photo ID. She digs into her purse and
hands the woman at the ticket counter her driver's license. She thanks
Lorelei with a polite, "Thank you, Ms. Raines. Enjoy your flight to
Denver." Lorelei stares at the license, stupefied at seeing Beth's name.
Edmund asks if she's thinking about Lizzie and James. "And Lillian,"
Lorelei adds. Sarcastically, Edmund responds that maybe they should stick
around, even though the Spauldings will want nothing to do with her now.
"You're as subtle as a brick in the face," Lorelei retorts before boarding
the plane. An attendant closes the door to the ramp behind them and walks
away from the gate. Phillip arrives and asks another employee if he's "seen
this woman" (he holds up a photograph of Beth). Unfortunately, he says no,
but urges Phillip to try the next gate. He rushes to the gate Lorelei and
Edmund just left but finds no one there, so he moves on. The sign above the
counter flashes, "Denver, Colorado."
Reva and Olivia verbally spar over their men again. When Holly arrives, she reminds Reva that the two former rivals can expect to run into one another often, Springfield being such a small town. After Olivia leaves the restaurant, Reva and Holly discuss their respective men. Reva expresses some worry that she's not heard from Josh since he left for Singapore, and Holly confesses that her relationship with Buzz has not yet moved to the level of physical intimacy.
Michelle is making the rounds, delivering invitations for Meta who is under the weather. She asks Cassie and Richard to co-chair the Lighthouse Celebration with Meta, and they gladly accept. When Michelle stops by to see Reva and Holly about the press coverage for the celebration, Olivia overhears and offers to co-chair the celebration. The former Mrs. Lewis is disappointed to learn that Cassie and Richard will be assuming those duties.
Ben takes Marah hot-tubbing at the Bauer house, thinking that no one is home there. It seems he assumes that since this is an impromptu event, they will have to tub in the buff. Marah goes off to retrieve some towels and returns wearing a swimsuit, and carrying one for Ben as well. Although he's clearly disappointed that Marah found the suits, he keeps mum. While the couple is kissing in the hot tub, they are surprised by Michelle, who tells them that Meta has been watching them from the window. Although Marah thinks it's funny, Ben is embarrassed that they were caught.
Unaware that Tory is watching them, Blake and Ross are finally enjoying their stay at the Bauer cabin. During the night, Blake goes outside to investigate a noise she heard on the roof. While standing on the porch, looking up at the roof, Blake is bombarded with falling snow and icicles. Although Ross doubts it, Blake is sure that Tory was behind her near miss accident. Realizing his wife is scared Ross tells Blake that he will take her home where she will be safe. While they are leaving the cabin, Blake tells Ross that she just wants to go home "I wanna be safe and sound." After they're gone, Tory emerges from the bushes and mutters "you'll never be safe again, Blake."
Father Ray is still refusing to marry Catalina and Tony unless and until she tells the truth about the miscarriage. Catalina is surprised to learn that Ray has called the Bishop in, and told his superior all about Catalina's accusation of misconduct. Tony is standing by his brother, and trying to get Catalina to tell the truth. With Ray and Tony present, the Bishop asks Catalina to tell "exactly what happened", and goes on to say "your words may very well determine Father Ray's future." Catalina stumbles for some words, but then runs out of the church. Before going after his fiancée, Tony tells Ray that although he's confused, he believes Ray. Ray tells the Bishop that he has faith that Catalina will tell the truth, and the Bishop responds by letting him know that he has nothing to worry about.
When Tony catches up with Catalina outside Company and urges her to tell him what's going on, the desperate young woman fakes abdominal pain, and a worried Tony ushers her home.
Harley enters the police station and wants to apologize to Gus for last night. Harley is upset with his obsession with Danny so Gus said the conversation is over. Gus walked away to get coffee, but Harley intercepts him. She wanted him to know that she is the bitter one. Once again she told Gus that she was sorry and wanted to know if they could help each other. Escorted by a police offer, Danny enters and spoke to Gus. Harley is shocked and wants to know why Danny is there, but Gus doesn't answer. He takes Danny in behind locked doors. Harley asked the officer what is going on, but the officer said he was just following orders. Gus tells Danny he has s broken taillight. Danny told Gus that this is harassment. Danny wants to know why he didn't get him at the cabin, and Gus said he could have. Danny knows that Gus is upset and he cannot see reality. Gus informs Danny that they are going to settle this thing between them right then. Danny wants to know what Gus is going to do now. Gus reminds Danny that he got everything handed to him. He mentions that the things he never got to do as a child, like having his father-playing ball with him was one of the things he missed because of his father's death. Danny says he cannot bring back his father. Gus begs Danny to tell him something so that he can stop hating him. Danny is shocked because he hauled him in that he can get over this feeling of hatred. Danny doesn't think that Gus can change and why should he believe him. Gus tells him he is in a rut and doesn't know how to get out. Harley busts in the door and tells Gus he cannot do this to Danny. Danny tells Harley he is fine and for Harley to leave them alone. Harley exits. Gus thanks Danny. Danny does not offer to help him because it is up to him to put an end to it. Danny explains to Gus that he is wasting his life and asked him if that is what his father would want him to do. Danny said his father made a lot of sacrifices too, and he knows he owes it to him to have the life that his father couldn't. He knows how Gus feels and he can share what worked for him. That would be to let someone in his life. Gus remembers what Danny says about getting revenge and how his father would react. He tells Danny that he is going to drop all of the charges and that Danny should go home to his wife. Harley and Michelle enter. He tells Michelle they need to fix the taillight on the car. Danny and Michelle exit. Harley wants to know why he brought Danny in. Gus knows that he and Danny aren't going to be pals and that he has to let go. Gus repeats to Harley that Danny said he was a revenge junkie and he doesn't want to be that. With tears in his eyes, he looks to Harley for help.
At St. Michael's church, Ross and Blake are talking to Father Ray about the wedding ceremony. Sister Teresa enters with a note and gives it to Father Ray. Father Ray excused himself for a moment. Blake and Ross continue to discuss the ceremony. Father Ray enters. Blake is talking but Ross isn't listening and she apologized to Father Ray. She tells Ross to leave and clear his head. He exits. Father Ray tells Blake that Ross didn't seem too enthusiastic and seems preoccupied. Blake says bless him father for he has sinned. She explains to Father Ray about Tory and her husband's accident, how Tory became Ross' legal assistant, how she believes Ross is her soul mate, and how Tory is stalking them. Blake feels that this is her fault since she got Tory the job and now Ross feels guilty. Outside of the church sanctuary Tory is quietly listening. Father Ray wants to know if Blake has tried to get Tory help, but Blake said she is beyond help. Blake reiterated to Father Ray that they couldn't get a restraining order unless Tory commits a crime. Sister Teresa interrupts him and lets him know there is a call in the rectory for him. After Father Ray exits, Blake hears something. She thinks it is Sister Theresa. But it is Tory dressed as a nun in the shadows. Blake asked who it is. Suddenly, Tory comes after her with a sword-like weapon.
A student enters Company and talk to Ross. She mentions that she wishes Tory was still in the class, but Ross says she moved. The student says she just saw Tory outside of St. Michael's. Ross frantically exits. Ross enters and runs into Sister Teresa. Ross tells Blake about the conversation he had with his student at Company. Ross begs Blake to not let Tory spoil this and she will be his bride forever. They exit the church. A teary-eyed Tory is seen hiding in the church. Blake wants to know why she won't stop. Ross says he has to tell her something.
Tory is praying to God to stop torturing her. Her mind wonders as she thinks of Ross getting married, but it is her in the wedding dress instead of Blake. Then she sees herself standing in the background as Ross and Blake are getting married. In her mind, she tells Ross to tell that Blake that he loves Tory. All she can hear are the words till death due us part. She comes back to reality and reiterates the words 'till death due us part'. She exits the church.
At Company, Shayne has an egg that he and Marah are going to name. He tells her they have to carry this egg around for s week and not break it. She tells Shayne for him to be a good 'daddy' and take care of it. Shayne lectures her to remind her that her life isn't that bad, but she comments that she wants something big time to happen.

He wants proof they were gambling. Frank motions for Marina and introduces her to Officer Wilkins and wants her to get them some coffee. Officer Wilkins gets out the pictures again and wants Frank to take another look. They see Marina in one of the pictures. Frank shows Elena. Frank asked Marina if she found the book at the library last night and he wants to see it. She said she returned it after the test. Frank tells Shayne he will deal with him later and Shayne exits. Frank wants to know where she went last night and tells her he had police surveillance. Marina admits she went there to get a drink after her test. He wants to know why she was dressed like that, and the picture shows that she is an accessory to a crime. Frank said he should arrest her. Elena said she is tired of bailing her out and suggests that Marina go to boot camp. Of course, Frank disagreed with this option. Frank said the only thing that would stop her is for he and Elena to love her. Frank is going to take her to the police station so she can tell him everything.
