Dylan arrives at Harley's home to see Daisy, and finds that she was writing a speech and is no longer depressed about her abortion. As they talk, Daisy says that she is concerned about how Rafe is handling the abortion.

Beth and Daisy/Susan are riding an elevator together, when a very pregnant Beth asks Daisy if she wants to feel the baby while it kicks. Daisy said no, as she becomes more uncomfortable, and maybe a bit shaken. The elevator stops, so Daisy uses the elevator phone to call for help. Them the elevator makes a sudden movement and causes Beth to be pushed to the wall. Daisy was concerned and tries to help Beth, but isn't quite sure how. Beth tries to sit and relax while waiting to be freed from the elevator, but the baby is active and Beth becomes a little more concerned. When Daisy suggests calling someone again, Beth, who now has become less settled, uses her cell phone and makes a call. She soon discovers that she called Alan, as if it were an automatic response for her when she feels she's in trouble and needs help. Although she quickly realizes her mistake, she does tell Alan about her situation, and he rushes over to help her. Beth seems to feel a little better knowing that Alan is on his way. Alan arrives, and is able to open the doors and free Beth and Daisy. After calming down some, Beth tries to keep Alan at a distance, thanks him, and then leaves. Daisy returns home alone, and begins to sulk again, after facing baby issues with Beth earlier. It appears that moving past that issue will take more time.

Rafe sneaks out of the mansion after being grounded, and meets with Alan at Towers. As Rafe speaks bad of Gus for handing out punishment as an instant father after 17 years of being not there for him, Alan agrees, which makes Rafe be more understanding about Gus' actions. Alan fuels the problem by planting the idea that Rafe has a right to be upset, when he never knows which woman Gus will turn to at any given time.

Gus takes a snack to Natalia as she works and continues to show her he cares while he waits for an answer to his marriage proposal. He then suggests that he, Natalia, and Rafe all spend Thanksgiving together.

Marina and Frank see each other on Main Street and they try to talk, but things are strained between them. Cyrus notices this from a distance.

As Harley talks to Alex at the mansion, Alex can sense that Harley has feelings for Cyrus, though Harley denies it. Harley explains that they are friends, they've worked together, and they are close from their experience together in the collapsed building, but that he is in love with her niece and she with him. As Harley is about to leave, Alex repeats her question, asking what exactly happened when they thought they were going to die. Harley's memory recalls the kiss that she and Cyrus shared, but she tells Alex that they played "Rock, paper, scissors". Alex doesn't believe her story, and says she can see the truth in Harley's eyes.

As Harley is leaving, she meets Gus unexpectedly in the hallway. They have a nice but awkward chat, and then Harley invites Gus to Thanksgiving dinner the next day. As the awkwardness builds, she ends up inviting Natalia and Rafe as well, saying they are all family. Gus says he'll be there.

Later, he tells Natalia that they are invited to Harley's, and she tells him she shouldn't go, but that he should, for Zach and Jude. They go back and forth on this, and Gus suggests that they have their own dinner and then he can go to Harley's when they're done. Rafe walks in and sarcastically says not to worry because he and his mom can eat quickly so that Gus can go to be with his other family. Gus talks to Rafe alone, and explains he needs to be at Harley's for the kids. Rafe tells Gus that he doesn't like the way it seems that Gus is stringing Natalia along while they can never be sure what woman Gus will want. Rafe also tells Gus that Zach and Jude have a father, and that Gus is all that he and Natalia have, and then Rafe leaves.

Later, Harley talks to Marina on Main Street, they discuss Thanksgiving plans. Harley tells Marina that she invited Gus. Marina thinks she did this to try to patch things up with Gus, but Harley lets her know it's for the kids. Marina pauses to thank Harley for her support of her relationship with Cyrus. Later, Marina walks in to the mansion as Gus is looking at the ring he bought for Natalia, and at first thinks it's for Harley, but is saddened to discover that it's not. She asks if Harley knows; Gus says no, but that he'll tell her. Marina asks that he not tell Harley on Thanksgiving. Gus calls and leaves a message for Harley that he needs to talk to her before he comes over tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Natalia and Rafe are on Main Street, and Natalia suggests that they work together on Thanksgiving Day because the pay is triple time. She then reminisces about a time when they didn't have much and how they both worked at a diner to make enough and ended up making more than anticipated, so they went to the ice capades. This prompts Rafe to agree to work together again this year. At Towers, the manager tells Alan that Natalia and Rafe will be working there. Alan thanks him for letting him know, with a scheming look on his face.

As Harley returns home from shopping for Thanksgiving items, Cyrus shows up and helps her with her bags. Inside, Cyrus tells how he now has decided to go to the dinner tomorrow, as a way to try to help Marina and her father be together. Then he asks her to allow him to help prepare some food. As he helps prepare food, the two of them seem to have a fun and flirty time. Cyrus helps to show Harley how to mix something by standing behind her and reaching around to demonstrate the mixing technique, which cause Harley to react with a flirty grin. Soon after, Cyrus takes off his shirt to wash it, as Harley looks at him with eyes that show an interest.

Title: Wishbone

Harley and the boys set a fancy table for Thanksgiving. They use construction paper turkeys as place cards for guests. As each name is placed over a plate, we see that person preparing to attend dinner. Marina begrudgingly leaves Cyrus at the hotel, Buzz goes to the station to convince Frank to attend the meal, and Ashlee and Coop consider making Doris a doggie bag. At the mansion, Gus regrets that Natalia and Rafe will be waiting tables. Natalia wants it this way until Gus can be sure this is his last Thanksgiving with Harley. Harley thinks she is done with the place settings until the boys show her one more: Cyrus.

Harley tells them that Cyrus isn't coming as Daisy comes down to help. Suddenly they realize they have no sweet potatoes. On Main Street, Daisy and Harley (in her apron) find sweet potatoes. They have a heart to heart where Daisy explains that she understands what Harley went through when she was pregnant with her. She realizes that people sometimes have to just do what's best. Harley becomes misty, but Daisy warns her about her tears. They have guests to prepare for.

Back at the house Gus arrives. He tells Harley they need some time alone after dinner. Marina arrives with flowers for the woman who saved Cyrus' life. She pulls Gus aside to find out why he hasn't told Harley about his proposal to Natalia yet. She warns him not to tell her today. Frank arrives as Buzz searches for reception on a portable TV. Marina announces to Frank and Buzz about how she'll be working with Harley at the agency. Coop and Ashlee arrive. Marina and Frank have a moment alone. Frank tries to make some concessions about Cyrus. He tells her that he is okay with Cyrus coming over for dinner.

Meanwhile, Alan dines at Towers and protects Natalia from snotty customers. Rafe strolls over to the manager and tells him that he's riding his mother too hard. The manager fires Rafe for his insolence. Rafe says that he quits. He tries to fire Natalia, too, but Alan intervenes. He makes the manager apologize to Natalia. He gives the manager money for Natalia's shift and tells him that Natalia will be dining with him. Rafe leaves the restaurant.

Cyrus arrives at Harley's, leaving the back door open. Everyone sits down and Buzz makes a speech. In the middle of his speech, someone throws a dinner roll into the house. Gus goes outside to find Rafe, apparently drunk, yelling, "Happy Thanksgiving, Dad!"

Gus learns that Rafe quit his job. Gus and Rafe struggle with each other as Gus tries to keep him from going inside. Daisy comes out and she wonders if Rage wants to be with her. Pressing against Gus, Rafe sarcastically says he wants to be with her whole family. If it's good enough for Gus, it's good enough for him.

All the men come outside with Harley, asking what's wrong. Gus says nothing as he holds onto his drunken son, who wiggles like a toddler to get out of his arms. Rafe says that what is wrong is the whole family thing. The coopers are inside thanking God that they have theirs, but screw anybody else. Gus takes Rafe and his wine away, asking everyone to just go inside and eat. Harley sympathetically nudges Daisy to come back inside.

At dinner with Natalia, Alan continues to call Gus foolish for keeping her waiting on him to make up his mind while, "some of us already have."

Back at Harley's the table is silent. Harley says what everyone was thinking about Rafe being drunk. An argument ensues over the family and fraternizing with the "enemy" when Coop says that Rafe is Gus' family and that's whom he needs to be with. Ashlee and Marina are sensitive about the comment because of Doris and Cyrus. Frank uses it as a chance to take cheap shots a Cyrus. Harley announces it's time for Cooper-ball. In their dresses and suits, they get ready to play, but outside it has become stormy. Harley doesn't care. They'll play in the house if they have to. They put team jersey's on over their dress clothes and commence to playing the game in Harley's living room.

Everything goes well with the game until Cyrus fakes Frank out by having one of the boys run with a bag of muffins. Meanwhile Cyrus takes the real ball to the goal. Frank tackles the boy and Cyrus makes the touch down. Frank slaps the ball out of Cyrus' hand, muttering, "Of course you cheated." They argue and wind up fighting. They dive off screen and plates shatter.

At the Mansion Gus sobers up his insolent son. Gus tells him that he loves him, but he can't turn his back on Zach and Jude. Natalia listens outside the door as Rafe tells Gus he's playing both sides. Gus knows the difference between a fake family and a pretend family, which "often times this is," but he says that hasn't given up hope on "us." Natalia enters the room and accepts Gus' marriage proposal.

Meanwhile at Harley's, Frank and Cyrus are broken up. Everyone continues to argue about what a terrible day it is. Frank and Marina go in another room and argue. Daisy runs out, still upset about Rafe. Ashlee and Coop share the wishbone and kiss. Harley takes her purse and leaves.

Daisy calls Rafe and he meets her on Main Street. They make up with each other. They both admit they miss each other and think about the baby. Daisy still wonders if she made the right choice because she feels so empty. Rafe knows that the feeling will never go away and maybe it shouldn't. They hold each other.

At the Beacon Ashlee and Coop say goodnight. She misses her mother. When she enters her room, Doris is there, tapping away on her laptop. Ashlee surprises her with leftovers.

At Towers, Harley has a drink of wine. Cyrus is there, having beer. He apologizes for the evening. He feels that she shouldn't be there wasting her holiday with him. Harley says that it's not a waste.

Back at Harley's Marina picks up the broken wishbone. A montage of the characters plays: Harley and Cyrus on the balcony at Towers, Natalia staring at her engagement ring with Gus beside her, Doris and Ashlee playfully picking through leftovers, the boys playing ball with Buzz, and Rafe and Daisy strolling in the rain beneath an umbrella.
