Cuban-born George Alvarez joined the cast of Guiding Light in August 1999.

Prior to his joining Guiding Light, Alvarez, a daytime television veteran, appeared on ABC's General Hospital and Port Charles and CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful. Before entering the world of acting, Alvarez received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Parsons School of Design. While bartending at New York's famed Studio 54, Alvarez decided to pursue acting professional.

In addition to his work on daytime television, Alvarez has appeared on NYPD Blue and Beverly Hills 90210.

In his spare time, George enjoys yoga, biking, skiing and video games. He has two sons - Kyle and Forrest - and currently resides in New Jersey.
