At a Glance

Ron, whose father is a retired city judge and minister and whose mother is a retired newspaper employee is the oldest of three children. Ron comes from a family of gospel singers and was introduced to music while performing in church and in high school glee clubs. Since then he has continued his love of music by performing in American musical theater for over two decades. In addition to a career in musical theater, Ron has appeared in concerts across the country as a solist with the Baltimore Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, Rochester Symphony, Philadelphia Pops, Sacramento Symphony Orchestra, Tulsa Pops, National Symphony, Omaha Symphony, and the Springfield Symphony. Ron can also be heard singing the national anthem at New York Knicks, Rangers, and New Jersey Devils games.

Ron has recorded the role of Daddy Warbucks on a recording commemorating the 25th anniversary of the musical Annie, and has recorded the roles of Sid in The Pajama Game and Robert in Wonderful Town. He recorded his first solo album of Broadway songs at Abbey Road in London, which was released in the spring of 1997.

Growing up, Ron attended five high schools before graduating from Nacogdoches High School. He then attended Southern Nazarene University, but transferred to Oklahoma City University where he received a Bachelor of Music degree. He was also a member of the American Opera Center at Julliard. While performing in Rose Marie for the Smithsonian he met his future wife, stage director Dona D. Vaughn.
