There have been some changes to the head writing team of One Life to Live. The changes do not, however, involve an addition or removal of a writer. Instead, there has been a change in job title for one of the show's co-head writers.
According to network sources, Megan McTavish has inked a deal that will allow her to continue on as head writer of All My Children. McTavish served previously as head writer of One Live to Live from 1999 to 2001.
Christopher Douglas (Antonio Lopez-Fitzgerald) has been let go from Passions. He becomes the latest in a line of stars to exit the show. Douglas previously appeared on One Life to Live as Dylan Moody.
The soap world has lost another of its stars. 52-year-old Gerald Anthony (ex-Marco Dane, One Life to Live and General Hospital) died on May 28th, 2004. The details of his death were not released.
Emmy nominated Ilene Kristen (Roxanne Balsom) will be released from her One Life to Live contract later this year. A show spokesperson confirms the pending change in Kristen's contract status, but insists that it does not mean that the actress has been fired.
One year after his dramatic exit from One Life to Live, a show spokesperson confirms that actor David Fumero (Cristian Vega) will return to the fictional town of Llanview.
Soap veteran Mary Beth Evans has been signed to appear as a doctor on One Live to Live starting later this year. The move to One Life to Live comes as the actress is wrapping up a four-year recurring run as As the World Turns' Sierra Montgomery.
Mary Beth Evans appears to have had a change of heart about setting up shop in One Life to Live's Llanview. Just two weeks after the announcement that the veteran soap star was going to appear on the ABC soap comes words that Evans will remain in place on CBS's As the World Turns.
Soap veteran Kimberlin Brown has been signed to appear as a Paige Miller, a doctor on One Live to Live starting later this year. Brown's role was originally intended for Mary Beth Evans (Sierra Montgomery).
Relative newcomer David Tom (Paul Cramer) will be exiting One Life to Live within the next few weeks. His exit is expected to spark more crossovers between One Life to Live and All My Children and, ultimately, bring about a resolution to the shows' baby-swapping storyline.
ABC has announced that Days of our Lives writer Dena Higley has been named the new head writer of One Life to Live. She will outgoing head writer Michael Malone.
