Eddie Alderson signed to long-term OLTL contract
One Life to Live will now have two Aldersons on contract status. Eddie Alderson (Matthew Rappaport), the younger brother of Kristen Alderson (Starr Manning), recently signed a long-term contract with the ABC soap.

Crystal Hunt hired to take on OLTL's Stacy
Former Guiding Light star Crystal Hunt joins the cast of One Life to Live next month in the newly created role of "Stacy." The Emmy-nominated actress will find her new role a lot different than her previous daytime role -- and her wardrobe may have a lot less clothing. Stacy, it appears, is a stripper.

Clint Ritchie dead at 70
Former One Life to Live star Clint Richie has died. The 70-year-old actor died in his sleep shortly after undergoing heart surgery. Richie appeared on the ABC soap for more than 20 years.

Phil Carey, One Life to Live's Asa, dead at 83
One Life to Live fans are mourning the loss of another star. Phil Carey, forever known as the feisty Asa Buchanan, has died. The former Marine got his start in feature films before transitioning to television appearances. He joined the cast of One Life to Live in 1979. Carey was 83.

Rachel Gannon returns to Llanview
Former Passions star Daphnee Duplaix joins the cast of One Life to Live this spring in the role of Rachel Gannon. Duplaix will be ushered into the Llanview canvas when her on-screen dad, Hank Gannon returns. Hank will again be played by actor Nathan Purdee. Three other actresses have played Rachel since 1992.

Nathan Purdee reprises role of Hank Gannon
Nathan Purdee returns to One Life to Live for the first time since 2003 this spring. Purdee is headed back to Llanview to help usher in the return of his on-screen daughter, Rachel. Daphnee Duplaix has been cast as Rachel, making her the fourth actress to have played Rachel since 1992.

Thorsten Kaye contract talks reach an "impasse"
Contract talks between All My Children and Thorsten Kaye have broken down, according to a published report. Kaye, who has been front-and-center in the show's storyline for years, joined All My Children in 2004. There are reports that the three-time Emmy nom is already being courted by One Life to Live.

Fans panicked by rumors of possible Erika Slezak dismissal
One Life to Live viewers have been stunned by recent reports that Emmy winner Erika Slezak might soon be let go from the ABC soap. Though the talk is very much a rumor at the moment, a recent interview posted on her official web site did little to allay fans' fears. Slezak joined the OLTL cast in 1971.

Bonner scheduled for dramatic exit from One Life to Live
Despite assurances to the contrary, soapcentral.com has learned that BethAnn Bonner will exit One Life to Live in the next few weeks. After losing a guaranteed One Life to Live role through the I Wanna Be A Soap Star competition, Bonner earned the role of Talia Sahid the old fashioned way. Bonner debuted on OLTL in December 2006.

Thorsten Kaye, AMC reach a deal
Thorsten Kaye has inked a new deal that will keep him on All My Children. Last month, Kaye and ABC execs had reportedly hit a roadblock and there was a strong possibility that the actor could have left the show. Now, citing the economy and unfinished business, Kaye has confirmed that he's reupped.

Brier, Stack ousted from One Life to Live
One Life to Live is about to be two cast members lighter. Kathy Brier and Chris Stack were both informed last week that their contracts would not be renewed, soapcentral.com has learned. Ironically, Brier, who joined the show in 2002, reportedly wanted out any way. Stack took over as Michael in December 2007.

The Montez family will soon be leaving Llanview
A Martinez and Camila Banus will exit One Life to Live in the upcoming weeks. Their exits will bring about the end of the Montez family's short stay in Llanview. Though there was initial excitement about their arrivals, Martinez and Banus have been with the ABC soap for less than a year.

R.J. Gannon returns to Llanview this week
While One Life to Live pares several members from its cast, the show is also boosting its cast member total. Image Award nominee Timothy D. Stickney returns as R.J. Gannon this week. It's been nearly a year since the actor was last spotted on the ABC soap. Stickney debuted as R.J. in 1994.

One Life to Live executives have landed another high-caliber musical act to perform on the show. Pop group, the Pussycat Dolls, will sing at Llanview High's prom on May 13. The group will sing the English version of the Academy Award-winning song, "Jai Ho."

Soap vet Terrell Tilford hired as new OLTL doctor
Guiding Light veteran, Terrell Tilford, is joining the cast of One Life to Live. Tilford has been cast for a newly created role, one for which at least one other big name star apparently tested. Tilford's new role may be a love interest for Rachel. He'll debut in June.

ABC has shelved plans to broadcast One Life to Live in high-definition... for now. Due to the still-soft economy, the network's requests for funding for the upgrade were denied. But fear not, friends of Llanview, ABC will make another request to broadcast One Life to Live in HD next year.
