Saum grew up in Dayton, Ohio, gravitating toward the spotlight after seeing the film "Annie" at the age of eight. At eighteen, Saum was discovered during a modeling search in Dayton and after moving to New York worked extensively as a catalogue and runway model.

Saum is well known to daytime television audiences for her role as Vanessa Hart on Sunset Beach. She went on to be a cast regular on the Showtime series, Beggars & Choosers and also guest-starred on Charmed She appeared in the feature films Indecent Proposal, Blue Chip and House Party III, and the independent film Finding Home.

In her spare time, Saum enjoys traveling, singing R&B, and reading Acting Portfolio One Life to Live
