We Predict the Port Charles Killer

Port Charles Online News | We Predict the Murderer

There's nothing like a good murder mystery. In recent years, only two shows have successfully pulled off a full-blown whodunit --- All My Children's Who Killed Will saga and Loving's Loving Murders. Now, Port Charles will give it a shot with a November storyline that's really going to shake things up.

The hubbub over the murder mystery and Kimberlin Brown's supposed departure, we've concocted a possible scenario that may explain how Brown will leave the show and how the writers will explain bumping off three characters.

Before we talk about who's going to do the killing and who's being offed, let's do some background research. When Mr. Green died, his death was nearly identical to another mysterious death. By all accounts, Bob Green was pretty healthy --- until he developed some sort of mysterious ailment. He was said to suffer from erratic mood swings and extreme paranoia. Right now, there's another Port Charles character that seems to suffer from the same ailment --- Estelle.

Let's assume that Mr. Green was injected with some sort of experimental medication. That would mean that Estelle would have to have come in contact with the same substance. On a recent show (during the week of October 23rd), Rachel was seen giving her mother an injection. It's quite possible that Estelle hasn't lost her mind; her sanity may have been forcibly taken from her. If this is true, Estelle's days are probably numbered. That would put her on the list as murder victim number one.

The other two victims are unclear. It's safe to rule Lucy, Scott and Kevin out as murder victims. General Hospital fans would revolt if any of them were killed off. Of course, Loving did kill off Jeremy Hunter, a character that was created on All My Children. Many fans of that show still have no idea that Jeremy is dead.

If the new writers are trying to clear the canvas of unnecessary characters, one has to look at which characters have promise and which ones seeming have no ties or purpose to the show. Livvie will more than likely stay put; Kevin's her dad. Courtney, Joe, Frank, Chris and Gabriela may be in jeopardy. The three men survived the General Homicide killings, but they may not be so lucky this time around.

Thanks to Chris, Livvie found out that Kevin is her father. Rachel may decide to unleash her anger on him --- and that could put him on the victims list.

Another uncertainty is the oft-bitter Dr. Boardman. A lot of fans would love to see him go --- so he's a prime candidate for murder (or to even be the murderer; if he is the murderer than he'd have to kill Rachel --- with Rachel's deathbed confession being that she's really not Livvie's mother --- even though we already know that). He's been quite a grump lately. Perhaps it's another sign of violent mood swings.

In the end, we believe that Rachel will be revealed as the killer. When the rumors of Kimberlin Brown's departure surfaced earlier this fall, a source at Port Charles assured us that Brown would be with the show through the Sweeps period and that she'd be a "major factor" in the Sweeps period. If she's going to be with the show in December --- that means that she cannot be one of the three characters killed off. And if she's a major factor --- why can't she be the killer? Of course, this could be a case of the network offering information to confuse the media and the viewers. After all, CBS did this with a little show called "Survivor."
