The 17th Annual Shine Awards have bestowed a nomination on Passions - the only soap to receive a nomination this year. The Shine Awards honor the exploration of sexually-themed storylines in a frank, yet sensitive manner..
Passions earned a nomination for its storyline involving Ethan and Theresa's relationship. The pair decided to hold off on having sexual relations because they did not have the appropriate protection. Adding to the powerful nature of storyline is that, at the time, Theresa was still a virgin.
The awards will be handed out on October 24th at Los Angeles' Skirball Cultural Center.
