This season picks up the story from Maxton Hall — The World Between Us, and follows Mona Kasten’s novel Save You, the second in her trilogy. Things get more intense this time with power, privilege, and legacy, along with just how delicate love can be, especially for Ruby, the scholarship kid, and James, who is set to inherit it all.

Release date news, and streaming details for Maxton Hall Season 2

Maxton Hall Season 2 has six episodes. The season premiered on November 7, 2025, with the first three episodes landing all at once on Prime Video. After that, you get a new episode every Friday. The finale, Episode 6, is set to drop on November 28, 2025. This last episode is titled Reaching for the Stars.

You can watch the show on Amazon Prime Video. In the U.S., Prime Video comes with an Amazon Prime membership, which costs $14.99 a month or $139 a year. If you are not interested in the full Prime package, you can just get Prime Video for $8.99 a month. Maxton Hall Season 2 is a global Amazon Original, so it’s available on Prime Video in a bunch of countries, not just the U.S.

Harriet Herbig-Matten takes on the role of Ruby Bell, a scholarship kid at Maxton Hall. Damian Hardung steps in as James Beaufort, the heir to the Beaufort name and Ruby’s love interest.

Sonja Weißer plays Lydia, James’s twin sister. Their dad, Mortimer Beaufort, is played by Fedja van Huêt. Then there’s Ben Felipe as Cyril Vega, one of James’s friends at Maxton Hall.

Andrea Guo plays Lin Wang, Ruby’s close friend, and Runa Greiner is Ember Bell, Ruby’s sister. Justus Riesner shows up as Alistair Ellington, another student, while Frederic Balonier plays Kieran, who is also part of the Maxton Hall crew. Eli Riccardi rounds it out as Elaine Ellington, Alistair’s sister and another student at the school.

What happened in Episode 5, and what is expected in Maxton Hall Season 2 Episode 6?

In Maxton Hall Season 2 Episode 5, James brings Ruby home, but the moment doesn't last. Mortimer shows up out of nowhere and throws everything off balance. And then, Ruby and James have to be honest about what’s going on. Ruby discusses her plans for Oxford and the scholarship she has been awarded. Mortimer gets caught up in his feelings, remembering his late wife and her days at Oxford. For once, he lets his guard down.

Then things take a turn. Ruby’s scholarship with the Alice Campbell Foundation gets pulled. Now her future is hanging by a thread. Meanwhile, James and Mortimer walk into a board meeting together, but Mortimer sides with the board, shoots down Lydia’s ideas, and you can tell he feels guilty, even if he won’t admit it.

Over at Maxton Hall, it’s yearbook photo day. Ruby is avoiding James, but they end up talking, since there’s still something between them. Cyrill makes a move on Lydia, gets turned down, so Lydia takes off after Graham Sutton into the woods and reveals that she is pregnant. Not far away, Cyril and Elaine snap a photo of Graham kissing Lydia.

The Maxton Hall Season 2 Episode 5 wraps up with Mr. Lexington receiving a strange message while he watches the students laugh for the camera. Ruby isn’t sure her relationship with James can survive Mortimer’s meddling. James is stuck, trying to figure out how to stand by his father and protect Ruby at the same time.

Maxton Hall Season 2 Episode 6 is expected to zero in on Ruby’s big moment: does she cut the scholarship exam or not? She has got all this pressure piling up, and her personal life is a mess, but she keeps grinding. Then there’s Mortimer, always finding new ways to get in her way. At this point, Ruby’s academic future is the heart of Season 2. Episode 6 is where everything comes to a head.

Meanwhile, James has had enough of Mortimer’s games. He watched his dad fold under pressure from the board. Also, he is convinced Mortimer messed with Ruby’s scholarship. Plus, Mortimer has been snooping on his phone behind his back.

So, Maxton Hall Season 2 Episode 6 could ramp things up. We can expect a full-on showdown between James and his dad. James has to pick a side: stick with his family or stand up for Ruby. Meanwhile, Mortimer isn’t backing down. He is ready to pull one last move to take back control. Episode 6 has to blow things wide open.

At the end of Episode 5, Elaine and Cyrill snapped photos of Lydia and Sutton kissing, and Lydia telling Sutton she is pregnant. The unknown text Mr. Lexington received in Episode 5 could either be these pictures or something related to this. If that’s the case, Lydia has to come clean about what’s really going on, and Sutton can’t dodge the consequences anymore.

In the finale, somebody’s heart is expected to get broken, or maybe there’s a big, emotional promise instead. Every piece is falling into place for a Maxton Hall Season 2 finale.
