In the second episode of Palm Royale Season 2, Maxine gets to know a lot of secrets.

Norma did not want her to know any of it. After getting out of the asylum, her first task was to help Linda get out of captivity. The manner in which Kristen Wiig handles Maxine’s character as she navigates through the emotional moments, along with the moments that define her strength, truly leaves an impact. She perfectly brings out the struggle that Maxine goes through because of Norma’s intervention and Douglas’s choice to marry Mitzi.

Despite the pain that she is facing, her priority remains to save Linda. At the end of the second episode of this season, Maxine is finally able to bring Linda out of captivity and lead her to safety. However, Douglas tells her that she will have to leave Palm Beach; only then will he take Linda to safety.

Laura Dern’s performance as Linda in the series truly adds a layer of intrigue. This is because of the way she brings out the aspects that Linda stands for in an authentic manner. In the second episode of Palm Royale Season 2, despite knowing her difficult situation, Linda remains true to her beliefs. She tries her best to make people understand that she has been wrongly framed. Her dedication to prove herself innocent leaves an impact.

Allison Janney’s Evelyn is also a crucial part of this season. In the first episode, we see her helping Maxine to get out of the asylum; however, soon it is revealed that she deliberately hid Mary, knowing the danger it would put Linda in. Some of the other intriguing cast members of Season 2 are Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Amber Chardae Robinson, Carol Burnett, etc.

At the end of the second episode of Season 2, we see a completely different side of Douglas. He is now eager to get married to Mitzi and even tells Maxine that he has feelings for her. When Maxine tells him to fly Linda to safety, he tells her that she will have to leave Palm Beach.

It completely shatters Maxine. Yet she accepts the proposal. She sacrifices her wishes to help Linda. It would be truly interesting to see how the characters navigate through the upcoming challenges, especially Maxine, in the new episodes of the season.
