NUMBER EIGHT
Jensen Buchanan Sued Over GH Appearance

It's a relatively uncommon occurrence for a soap opera character to find life when his or her soap opera is canceled. However, several former Another World characters made the move to As The World Turns after the long-running soap was canceled by NBC. One of those faces was Jensen Buchanan's Vicky Hudson.

Buchanan's character was on ATWT for only a short time before being killed off. Buchanan remained with the show in a recurring role as her character's spirit tried to help her former husband find the children that she's left behind.

After leaving her role, Buchanan was slated to join ABC's General Hospital. Buchanan's first GH appearance, however, came while Buchanan was still contractually obligated to remain exclusive to ATWT. Procter & Gamble Productions sued the actress, her agent and ABC. Fortunately for all those involved, the situation was quickly cleared up and the lawsuit was dropped.

Unfortunately for Buchanan, the year ended with more bad news: Her role on GH would be ending.

NUMBER SEVEN
CBS Actresses Are Out... And Then Back In

While ABC was criticized for endless Disney promotions and NBC received flack for drawn out storylines, CBS found public relations problems of another kind.

Two of the network's top-billed actresses, Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman, The Young and the Restless) and Hunter Tylo (Taylor Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful) both left their respective shows after failing to reach terms on new contracts. Then, just a matter of days later, both released statements that they'd re-signed with their shows.

The similarities prompted many fans to cry foul, wondering if the contract flaps were publicity stunts.
