The 54th Annual Writers Guild Awards honored All My Children in the Outstanding Daytime Serial category. The win marked AMC's second consecutive victory in the category.

Other nominees this year were Days of our Lives, Guiding Light and The Young and the Restless.

The Writers Guild Awards honor outstanding achievement in writing for the screen, television and radio.

General Hospital's William Ludle picked up his second Director's Guild of America Award.

Ludel's work on episode 9,801 earned him the honors. If you're scratching your head in wonderment, here's what the episode was about. The episode, which aired in July 2001, featured Stavros Cassadine haunting the dreams of other Port Charles residents.

Ludle first won a DGA Award in 1995.

Other nominees for this year's 54th Annual Directors Guild Awards were Randy J Robbins (Days of our Lives), Michael Stich (The Bold and the Beautiful), Angela Tessinari (All My Children) and Gary Tomlin (One Life to Live).
