February 2003 The Third Annual Dankies The nominations have been cast. Thousands of Soap Opera Central users visited the soapcentral.com web site over the past month to nominate their choices in a variety of categories, such as Outstanding Lead Actor, Favorite Character and Favorite Storyline. We've tabulated all of the nominations and placed the top four vote-getters in each category on a final ballot. Each of the ten soaps has its own final ballot -- and you can vote in as many or as few of those ballotings as you wish. |

Guiding Light, General Hospital Lead Daytime Emmy Nominations
With seven nominations apiece, Guiding Light and General Hospital led this year's field of acting nominations for the 30th Annual Daytime Emmys. Every soap -- except for Passions -- scored at least one nomination. It would seem that the overhaul to this year's nomination process accomplished its goal: to provide every soap opera with a fair chance to earn Emmy nominations.
