Since not everyone is familiar with the blogging process, we've created a series of tutorials to help bring you up to speed on the process and to make the process a little clearer. This tutorial explains how to update your blog and post blog entries.
By clicking on the "Update Blog" link in the navigation menu, you will arrive at a page that looks similar to the graphic below. Here is an explanation of this page.

1. Type of Entry - If you would like to upload a picture or video instead of a plain text entry, simply click either the "Post Image" or "Post Video" tab. The same options below still apply for image and video posts.
2. Publish to -

.com allows you to organize your friends into specific groups, and then select who can read which blog entries. For example, you may not want your co-workers to see a certain post, so simply select the other groups and your entry will not be visible to them. You can organize your friends into different groupings on the Profile page. You can also select "Just Me" if you would like to make a private diary-like entry.
3. Tags - Tags are optional, but they are a great way to help other users find your blog. Tags are simply keywords that describe the content for your entry. In this example, the author has tagged their entry with "American Idol" "All My Children" and a variety of other tags relating to their entry. Now, whenever another user clicks the "American Idol" tag somewhere else on

.com, this author's entry will display alongside other entries that have been tagged with "American Idol". It is important to remember to use quotes if your tag is multiple words. If you wrote 'American' and 'Idol' without quotes, it would show up as two separate tags, so you must tag the entry "American Idol" with quotation marks.
4. Editor - In the large form area, you can make your blog entry. A rich text editor is provided so you can change the font, colors, insert pictures, or even add emoticons (smilies).
5. Basic Mode - If you are using an older computer or are on a slow connection, you may not be able to use the rich text editor. If you are having issues, switch to "Basic Mode" which is a text-only option for updating your blog.
