Soap stars host tales of real-life drama on ID Daytime

Daytime stars including Lynn Herring, Kin Shriner, Mary Beth Evans, Wally Kurth, Lamon Archey, and Darnell Williams will host marathons of real-life soap-opera-worthy situations on Investigation Discovery's ID Daytime Soap Block.

The Investigation Discovery network will resume its ID Daytime Soap Block starting August 25, 2014. The programming block features soap stars hosting encores of ID's most scandalous and dramatic series, such as Wives with Knives, My Dirty Little Secret, Scorned: Love Kills, and Evil Twins. The block will run from 1 to 4PM each weekday.

Each week, a pair of stars will provide commentary on real-life stories wild enough that they could have been pulled right from the goings-on in fictional soap towns like Port Charles or Pine Valley. Every week will revolve around a central theme.

Sinful Secrets week will run from August 25 to 29 and be hosted by Lynn Herring (Lucy Coe, General Hospital and Port Charles; Audrey Coleman, As the World Turns; Lisanne Gardner, Days of our Lives) and Kin Shriner (Scott Baldwin, GH and PC; Jeffrey Bardwell and Harrison Bartlett, The Young & the Restless; Keith Morrissey, As the World Turns; Dr. Brian Carey, The Bold and the Beautiful).

September 2 through 5 will bring Lessons in Lust hosted by telenovela star Katie Barberi (Cecilia Vergel, Dona Barbara; Ursula Van Pelt, Every Witch Way).

Poisonous Love week will be featured from September 8 until September 12 and will be hosted by Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Brady, DAYS; Sierra Estaban, ATWT; Katherine Bell, GH) and Wally Kurth (Ned Ashton, GH; Justin Kiriakis, DAYS; Sam, ATWT).

Finally, September 15 to 19 will focus on Evil Enemies and be presented by Lamon Archey (Mason Wilder, Y&R) and Darnell Williams (Jesse Hubbard, All My Children; Augustus "Sarge" Wilder, Y&R).

"Soap fans are a voracious audience, hungry for emotionally riveting content and devoted to the characters they've grown to love -- or, hate," said Henry Schleiff, President of Investigation Discovery. "...soap opera fans know that they can always find their 'stories' on Investigation Discovery -- the real life tales of passion -- and, on occasion, perhaps, a little poison."

The daytime programming on the network isn't all that might interest soap fans. Investigation Discovery will also be showing a new season of Deadly Affairs with Susan Lucci (Erica Kane, AMC) starting Saturday, August 16, at 10PM ET/9 PM CT. In the series, Lucci exposes passionate love affairs turned to crimes of passion that demonstrate just how fatal some ill-fated attractions can be.
