Jane Krakowski reminisces about her Search For Tomorrow days

Former Search For Tomorrow star Jane Krakowski (ex-TR Sentell) dishes on her soap opera past and the strange reason her character was named TR.

Jane Krakowski has come a long way since starring as Search For Tomorrow's TR Sentell in the mid-80s, including substantial roles on Ally Mc Beal, 30 Rock, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. But she'll never forget her soap opera past.

The New Jersey native, who also starred as Another World's Tonya in 1989, recently made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and recalled her craziest moments on the NBC soap.

"Ooh, there were a lot but I think the worst was... well, there were two worsts: Once, I joined the circus. That was like a desperate grab at ratings. And then there was a flood that came through the town where they could get rid of a lot of contracts at one time," she shared.

And as for the origin of her alter ego's unique name, she reveals it's not as romantic as it might seem.

"My character's name was TR, which I later found out was they just didn't come up with a name and [it was an abbreviated form of] ‘The Runaway,' because I started out as a runaway."
