Liam dreamed of sending Bill to jail and taking over as CEO of Spencer Publications, but in Liam's dream, Bill said Liam had no proof of arson against Bill. Liam secretly recorded Bill admitting to the crime and threatened to send Bill to jail if Bill didn't step down and let Liam run the company. Jealous of Nicole's bond with Lizzy, Maya convinced Ridge and Rick to offer Zende a design position in Paris. To Maya's delight, Zende accepted the offer.

Raines took Gabi hostage, but Eli shot and arrested him. Abe was freed. Bonnie was furious that Hattie had left a dead, half-naked Anjelica in her hotel room. While questions about Anjelica's death swirled, an autopsy confirmed Anjelica had died of natural causes. Bonnie hit on Victor to get her revenge. Andre set up a press conference to announce that Kate was cheating on him and that he was mentally fit to take over DiMera Enterprises. At the press conference, Hattie betrayed Andre and declared him mentally incompetent. Hattie had Andre committed and ordered electroshock therapy for John and Marlena. Andre learned that Hattie was impersonating Marlena. Paul was suspicious of Marlena's behavior, and he talked to Hope about John's disappearance. Hope realized that Hattie had been impersonating Marlena and confronted her. Nicole reunited with Holly. Brady continued to be jealous of Eric. Abigail was released from the hospital. Jennifer worried about Adrienne's strange behavior. The real Adrienne bribed an inmate to deliver a note to Justin. With Chloe's help, Lucas fought to regain his sobriety.

Franco was stunned when Jake showed him a picture of Jason as a young boy because Jason looked exactly like the boy in a photograph with Franco as a child. Ava gave in to temptation and kissed Griffin, but he rejected her advances. Ava was crushed because she was certain that Griffin had been repulsed by her scars. Griffin insisted that he'd taken sacred vows of celibacy, but Ava accused him of hiding behind the priesthood. Ava reached out to Valentin for help, but he demanded that she retract her statement about Nikolas' death before he put her in touch with his plastic surgeons. Lulu was surprised when Valentin suggested that he and Lulu share custody of Charlotte. Bobbie was concerned when she learned about Nelle's troubles in Marrakesh. Andre gave Anna information about one of Valentin's old accomplices.

Sharon and Nick were affected by the memories that Alice's return had stirred up. Nick planted a tracking device on Alice's car, but he persuaded Sharon not to do anything that might tip Alice off. Tessa told Mariah about how she and Crystal had grown up with an abusive, drug-dealing father and an addict mother. Mariah and Tessa found out Alice's location and took off on their own to confront her.
