Y&R star shows off unnamed boyfriend
The Young and the Restless star Tammin Sursok is ending a two-week vacation in Australia, a break that allowed her to introduce her family and friends to the new man in her life. Sursok, who joined Y&R as Colleen in July 2007, is also actively working in feature films.

The Young and the Restless is again the focus of the current Writer's Guild of America strike. The show's youngest writer is talking publicly about the challenges being faced by writers during the strike. The WGA strike recently entered its third month.

A much older Victor Jr. returns to Genoa City
An "aged" Victor Newman, Jr., will be returning home to Genoa City next month. Now in his 20s, Victor Jr. was only a toddler when last seen on-screen. Newcomer Chris Engen has landed the contract role.

Pat Benatar gives Y&R her "Best Shot"
Rocker Pat Benatar is headed to Genoa City to perform at Indigo. While she is in town, Benatar will also try to help one of the townspeople overcome her stagefright. The episodes will air in time for Valentine's Day.

Though CBS has yet to comment, soapcentral.com has learned that Lynn Marie Latham has been stripped of her executive producer and head writer roles at The Young and the Restless. The ouster has been rumored for several weeks.

Emmy pre-screening nominations announced
The pre-nominations for this year's Daytime Emmys have now been announced. From this list will come this year's winners. In a rule change, shows may now have up to three nominees in any given category.

Y&R planning comebacks and crossovers
In an effort to appease fans turned off by recent lackluster storylines, The Young and the Restless is set to revisit some its past and reintroduce some familiar faces. The show is planning to bring back at least three former stars and continue its crossovers with sister soap, The Bold and the Beautiful.

Victoria Rowell "open" to Y&R return
Outspoken actress Victoria Rowell (Drucilla Winters) may be headed back to The Young and the Restless alter this year. The CBS soap has reached out to the actress to see if she's interested in a possible return -- but a rival soap is also reported to be interested in signing Rowell. Rowell appeared on Y&R for 17 years.

Bell issues mother of all Y&R refusals
Plans to have Christine Williams return to Genoa City have been scrapped. Actress Lauralee Bell (Christine Williams) turned down requests to return to the show on a short-term basis. Nixing the return meant saying no to her mom and sister-in-law. Bell hasn't appeared on Y&R in nearly two years.

Julie Pinson heads East to ATWT
Julie Pinson, a veteran of West Coast soaps Port Charles, Days of our Lives and The Young and the Restless, is headed to New York. The actress has landed a recurring role on As the World Turns. Pinson will be reunited with two co-stars, one of whom she will share a romantic past. Pinson debuts in May.

Morrow, wife welcome third child
Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman) and his wife, Tobe, are in for a few more years of restless nights. The couple welcomed their third child earlier this week. Like his two siblings before him, the latest Morrow will also have "CJ" as a possible nickname.

Hughes ditches Y&R for "big" storyline on GH
Finola Hughes is joining the cast of The Young and the Res--- oh, no she isn't. After having agreed to appear in a four-episode story arc on CBS's The Young and the Restless, Hughes has graciously bowed out at the request of ABC executives. Y&R is reportedly fuming, though there is no word of any legal action by the show.

Soap stars join together in new online series
Emmy winner Eden Riegel has teamed up with her husband ande friends, which include two Y&R stars, to put together a new online web series. The series, called Imaginary Bitches, takes a look at those inner voices that are inside every one of us telling us things that we may or may not want to hear. More than a million people have already tuned in to see Riegel's new project.

Little Richard set to marry Y&R's Gloria and Jeffrey
A whop bop-a-loo bop a whop bam boo! Little Richard is set to make a special guest appearance on The Young and the Restless later this month. In scenes that will take a slightly comedic twist, the rock-n-roll singer presides over the nuptials of two Genoa City residents.

Irizarry ends 18-month "short term" Y&R gig
A year-and-half into his "short-term" role on The Young and the Restless, Vincent Irizarry (David Chow) is exiting the top-rated CBS soap. Irizarry has appeared on Guiding Light and All My Children prior to his Y&R stint. A final airdate has not yet been announced.

Kay Alden promoted to co-head writer at B&B
Veteran soap opera writer Kay Alden has been promoted to the position of co-head writer with The Bold and the Beautiful. Alden has been part of the B&B writing team since 2007. Prior to that she spent more than three decades as a member of the writing team of The Young and the Restless.

David Hayward will once again be making Pine Valley house calls
Be careful around the punch bowl, All My Children fans. An All My Children spokesperson has confirmed that Emmy-nominated soap vet Vincent Irizarry will reprise the role of David Hayward later this year. The news comes only a short time after Irizarry was let go by The Young and the Restless. Prior to his eight-year run on AMC, Irizarry appeared as twins on Guiding Light.

Y&R EP Griffith has not been fired -- or has he?
While investigations continue at Days of our Lives into whether or not various scripts were rewritten by someone other than the show's head writer, The Young and the Restless appears to have dodged a similar fate. Executive producer Josh Griffith has been accused of overstepping his authority. Griffith reportedly immediately stopped the questionable actions. His future at Y&R is in question.

Former Top Model winner Eva Marcille will exit Genoa City this week. The model-turned-actress told soapcentral.com earlier this year about her plans for her Y&R role, but many never materialized. Fear not, though, Marcille will be back on Y&R in the near future.

Eileen Davidson returns full-time to The Young and the Restless
Ashley Abbott is coming home to Genoa City -- and it's not just for the holidays.Emmy-nominated Eileen Davidson returns to Y&R on a full-time basis at the end of September. Davidson originated the role of Ashley in 1982. For the past year-and-a-half she has appeared on the Y&R spinoff, The Bold and the Beautiful.
