Emmy winner Cynthia Watros has landed a recurring role on The Young and the Restless. The actress started filming today and will pop up on-screen just in time for Sweeps.

EW.com, which first reported Watros' addition to the cast, reveals that Watros will play the role of Kelly, a woman who "who will have a profound influence on the lives of several characters, including Billy, Victoria, and Chloe."

A casting notice for the role offered some addition detail, noting that Kelly is "a grade school teacher by trade, but not currently working. She has been married-but recently divorced."

Watros began her career in daytime as Annie Dutton on CBS's long-running soap Guiding Light, a role she played from 1994 to 1998. In 1998, Watros was awarded the Outstanding Lead Actress trophy at the Daytime Emmys for her portrayal of her ax-wielding alter ego. That same year, Watros briefly took over the role of Victoria Hudson on NBC's Another World while actress Jensen Buchanan was out on maternity leave.

To primetime fans, Watros may be best known for her role as Libby, a psychologist on ABC's Lost. Watros also starred in her own web series, Cynthia Watros Gets Lost! You can check out the first episode of the web series below.

Meanwhile, Watros will start airing in November, though a first airdate has not been released at this time.
