When you put two grand dames of television together in the same room, there's bound to be over-the-top fun and laughter. Add a little alcohol to the mix, and suddenly you've got yourself an afternoon that's greater than freely frolicking at Disneyland. And we're pretty sure that's why The Young and the Restless' Marla Adams (Dina Mergeron) and The Bold and the Beautiful's Betty White (Ann Douglas) have been longtime drinking buddies.
In a recent interview with Soap Central, Adams -- who just wrapped up a heartbreaking stint in which her Genoa City alter ego battled Alzheimer's disease -- opened up about some of her pastimes, one of which happens to be shooting the breeze (and maybe a few shots) with White.
"My drug of choice is vodka, and I used to drink vodka greyhounds with Betty White all the time. That's her favorite drink," Adams shares. "I love my vodka! I keep it in the freezer, and when I come home from work, and I am truly exhausted because I take my job so seriously, I take my little dog Piper out, and then I come back and I usually turn on the news and have my vodka."
White also confirms that imbibing some spirits every once in a while is the secret to a long and happy life. In a recent interview with Parade magazine, she admitted that she loves vodka and hot dogs, "probably in that order."
Speaking of soap opera stars and drinking, Days of our Lives alum Shawn Christian (ex-Daniel Jonas) just recently teamed up with The Bad Stuff, an artisan tequila company founded by entrepreneurial legend George Molsbarger and renowned Maestro Catador Felipe Soto Mares.
"Honored to announced that I am embarking on a business venture with this revered man," he wrote on social media. "It's an honor to share with you the finest artisanal spirit on and for the planet."
